I got one question not related to hackintosh, i yesterday removed my rtx 1060 graphics card for some reason. And i realize my integrated graphics card(my cpu is i7 7700k) can't show the bios screen. When it boot to the Windows screen it shows, but when it boot into bios it just blank screen. Any idea?

Hi Brandon, you're our only hope. We are a few people with the same problem here. When booting from the stick, only boot option "1. Windows" appears, nothing else, no USB (external dng), no OpehShell.efi, no ResetNVRAM. Any idea?

Hi guys, and thanks Brandon for an excellent tutorial. BTW I had an issue with only option in the opencore boot menu: 1. Windows. I figured out what was happening. I noticed in the posts below that many of you had the same issue. Here is the resolution: In the Misc/Boot section this parameter was like this HideAuxiliary = Yes. In fact this is how it was in the sample.plist that came from opencorepkg 0.7.6 which was renamed then to config.plist. In the Dortania documentation, in this section it says: leave it unchanged, but above it, in the picture it was HideAuxiliary = No . I didn’t double check. When I change it to No, the picker menu appeared entirely… Thanks again Brandon

Thanks, dude :) I did the installation successfully on: CPU: Intel Core i5-8600K 8th gen coffee lake GPU: Radeon RX 5700 XT MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte z370 hd3 The challenge was to set up the config.plist, but after reading the documentation, like 3 times :D I finally did it :)

You should add a note in the video to switch your boot order to the USB at the top before you start the installation, otherwise you’re gonna have to sit in front of your PC for a few hours to spam F12 to manually choose the USB stick every time it reboots during installation.

Thanks for the tutorial! 👍 It took a few hours of troubleshooting and I ran into a few hurdles, but I was eventually able to get macOS on my Alienware Area-51 from 2015! This thing is running beautifully! No issues whatsoever! Sound, Ethernet, standby, Apple services, are all here! Amazingly, I was even able to get my GeForce GTX 980 Ti to work flawlessly under macOS! Had a weird issue where I couldn't run particular apps like Firefox or Minecraft, but I found that adding a boot argument I found on a thread actually fixed the issue. Honestly it's kinda surreal to think I got this system running like this in a few hours lol. Swear Hackintosh never goes to plan but this time it did 🤣

You can boot Linux with OpenCore. But note that acpi files and smbios will be injected to it. You can add an OSI "Darwin" check to your acpi files. And use these settings to avoid smbios injection to other os then macOS: Kernel -> Quirks -> CustomSMBIOSGuid Yes PlatformInfo -> UpdateSMBIOSMode Custom

In case OpenCore Boot Menu only shows "Windows" entry: Try pressing the spacebar once or changing "HideAuxiliary" in config.plist to False. Hope this heps!

I saw in the previous comments on how to fix this. However, I came across another issue, it recognized the USB and I got the lines of code, but it stopped and is stuck at “AssertMacros:” and it won’t continue. What do I do now?

So i followed the guide but as soon as i boot into my usb and choose the external usb as the option the white text that appears just stops and it doesnt proceed to enter the recovery mode…I’ve double checked the config.plist and followed everything else accordingly, any ideas on why this might be happening? Ok, I managed to run the program after a bit. The problems I encountered- 1. The AppleMCEReporter Disabler had 2 kext folder. The correct one to use is the second folder inside the first one. 2. In config.plist; BA 0000000090 > BA 0600000090 In this way, change the value of replace in kernel > patch 0, 1, 2 And third one is a minor one. In MountshellEFI, pressing ‘B’ doesn’t mount EFI folder rather the Boot folder. So has the replace the efi folder in boot. Everything else is super. Cheers.

the OpenCore Boot Loader is not popping up for me. i did a previous comments tip about turning off the "hide" thing (Wich seemed to work for accople of people) but it didn't fix the issue..... any tips? I'm tempted to give up ngl xP edit: i just realized my EFI folder was in the recovery folder..... lol ... i don't think it fixed the issue though....

Change the boot order and add the usb stick as priority or access the one time boot menu (the key will depend on your pc brand, try f12 or f8) and then select your usb stick.

Update, made it work, no need to set those options when you don't have them, only problem is resolution, still works with gtx 1070 gpu but can't change resolution from 1024x768
