Could you please explain why you slip the last 3 stitches before changing colours? I have done helix knitting before but have not seen this technique. I usually just switch colours where the next colour starts.

Hi Natalie! I'm new to helical knitting and would like to use this in a sweater holding alpaca with fingering. The fingering is indie dyed but not the alpaca. My question is, if I only alternate the fingering every row, but use the same skein of alpaca, how do I manage the three slipped stitches? Thank you in advance for your advice!

I don't do magic loop - I just knit in the round. Just one question - If I'm knitting in the round - no purling - I will always keep my yarn in the back right? I knit a lot of sweaters top down. I'm very new to helical knitting. I just want to use it for hand dyed yarns.

You're correct! If you're only knitting in the round, your yarn will always be in the back. Helical knitting will be perfect for hand-dyed yarns!

Hmm you may be slipping too early. Whenever you slip three stitches, your next color should be on the right-hand needle ready to go!

Isaac Kane hi there! Are you no longer knitting with two ball of yarn and instead now knitting with one? If so, just start knitting with the one color all the way around like normal. You will have a tiny hole where you’ve cut the other yarn, similar to the space you get when you join a new skein of yarn. You can fix it when you weave in your ends!

Jenn Crafts that’s a good question! I have never tried that method so I am not 100% sure.

@@KnittyNatty If there are several rows in the same color, you simply use the same color instead of another color. So with 3 rows of the same color, three balls of the same color one after the other.
