I built my service truck. 1988 Freightliner had L10 n wannabe 9spd. I mounted a utility bed for setting highline poles on it. 20K hydraulic winch in front bumper. 50' boom 24" auger and man bucket. 4.33 rear gears. Pulled L10 n wannabe, now has Big Cam 855 400 n Double Over 13spd. Truck may be little big for most jobs but I won't be limited. 88 FLC 120 tandem

Love your videos I'm also a field mechanic I work on construction equipment and all there Semites so I know exactly how hard you work. I went to school after I had plenty of hands on experience just to get D.O.T certified. There were some young guys in the school and one of the tasks we had to do was service wheel bearings. I took out the wheel bearing dipped my hand in a five gallon can of grease and packed the bearing by hand a couple of the guys looked at me like I was nuts and commented I wouldn't do that with my hands I laughed and told him if your concerned that much about getting a little grease on your hands you should probably think about getting into another line of business lol. Those trucks we worked on in school were the cleanest most well maintained trucks I have ever seen.

Have watched all your videos, I am retired and disabled. I wait daily for a new one. Just love your detail on a repair. That truck is great at a reasonable price. Too bad it's not 4x4, but with the rear weight it ought to go most anywhere. In a pinch, can you use the hoist as a winch with some pulleys? The Millermatic is unbelievable extra, you got a 1/4 of your bid right there. That alone will pay for more of the truck. A lot of large equipment maintenance over here on in Chinook, MT (the other side of the hill). Very large farming and ranching. Love a hard worker. Keep it up.

Hey, Warren- I've been watching ALL of your videos, following the "timeline". It seems you have a Guardian Angel. You got the new truck, repaired the major stuff, tools transferred over, found shit you forgot or thought had lost- just as the other truck crapped out (cracked head, busted crane, etc. That new Beast runs nice now, you'll get used to it. Little by little, throw a few bucks at it, keep it happy! Change ALL fluids & oil & filters early, not a waste of money- it's preventative maintenance. I'd like to see more updates on your truck, get the outrigger hoses fixed? Did you put a tool battery charging station in? Did you ever get a modern jump starting setup? Couple of those new jumper packs are a good investment. Take care of that welder, get dry gas in it, fuel Sta-Bil, change it's oil & filter. You need to hire a competent kid to do all that, get caught up. Don't get some know-it-all, teach him or her YOUR ways, YOUR values. Don't get a pretty one, so Wife gets nervous, lol.

CONGRATS on the "new" service truck....it's a peach and I enjoyed the tour of it. You got some really cool equipment with it. I wuz thinkin, from the cylinder rebuild on the tailboard of your old truck, if u had an eye on one side of the tail board that u cud hook a snatch block into then u cud run your crane cable thru it and connect it to a long choker (horizontally) that is attached to the ram and use the crane to pull the ram into the cylinder (for that extra ass 🤣) ....jus a thought. And you forgot ur propane torch in this video but u got that cutting rig for heat in the new truck 😏 ....hee hee hee. Luv the vids.....keep em comin👍🏻
@Gkuljian5 жыл бұрын
Nice! Between a heavy rear and a diff lock you should be able to get around without 4wd. Friction is a function of weight only, so those boxes and the crane ought to keep you rolling over stuff.

We in Alaska get less snow on a average than the states continental and it doesn't stay cold. But when we do, it is miserable. I seen it set on forty below and stay there for weeks.
