I don't know why but I feel like crying after watching this video. I go to daily mass and receive Holy Communion. The thought of these nuns making the hosts- it just makes it even more special. It was so moving to hear her first communion prayer asking God to make her a nun and how much they all must love Jesus and how much Jesus must favor them. I might be a little jealous, lol.

I did this as a living for the sisters in a convent in Tucson called The Benedictine Convent of Perpetual Adoration at age 18. The process was the same but the equipment was different. The ovens were the first waffle irons, that's how waffles came to be. Once I spilled almost 25 gallons of batter on the floor! A nun ran to me to make sure I was okay. I have other stories. It was a peaceful job. This was in the seventies..

Thank you, sisters, for your dedication to making the bread that will become the host. It reminded me of my mother making a style of brown bread when I was a kid in Indiana. She made it for the parish St Ann (which has since been consolidated) the bread she made was wonderful and everyone enjoyed it, it was rich and sweet and very aromatic. Unfortunately, she lost the recipe before we moved to California. I haven't thought about it for many years, we used to discuss it sometimes. My mother has since moved on to be with the lord, I miss her very much and seeing this video brought back a wonderful memory filled with joy and grief. I miss her, buy I rejoice knowing she is with Jesus and the rest of the departed family. Bless you sisters for this video, it was a gift to me. God bless and keep you all constantly in his loving grace, may you all live to glorify his righteousness.
