Honestly, I think the producers let their love of Game of Thrones blind their decision making, because as much as I like Amelia, she's too short, and too soft to be Sarah. They should've had her in a gym for months to make her hard as nails like Linda, and I just didn't get that. There's no comparison to Linda Hamilton in T2. She's absolutely iconic in that role, and probably should've won an Oscar for her performance. This video to me shows that even though your heart is in the right place, you can still make bad decisions.

I really enjoy watching this film and after having watched it a fair few times now, I've not gotten bored once. I really enjoyed T3 as well, which other people also seem to dislike, but I'll admit that I hated 4 and 6. T2 can't be beaten though and is probably top 3 films ever made. Near perfection.

Glad to see someone being positive about this film. I loved it when i saw it in the cinemas I was 15 at the time so I have a soft spot for this movie. I think this a very solid sequel and doesn't deserve the hate. Much better than all the other sequels

People ragged on this movie way more than it deserved. It's probably the only movie post T3 that was trying to embrace how ridiculous the franchise had gotten post T2 and it took full advantage of that. Was honestly a fun watch.

I think it had more to do with the 'backtracking' they did and starting 'wokeness'. Making John Conner the bad guy just didn't sit well (killing him off in the last one, was even worse). Although nothing against the actor who played Kyle Reese (I like him in several other movies, aswell as the Spartacus series), but he was just a miscast. Especially when you compare it to Michael Biehn. Another problem was that, after Terminator Salvation, people were finally ready and expecting to see the war, that we only saw snippets of in the first 2 movies. Actually, we were already expecting it after Terminator 3. I initially didn't even like Terminator Salvation because of this, although I think Salvation is actually a very good Terminator movie, without it being about explicitly about the terminators. I do have Genysis on Blu-ray though, I'm kinda a sucker for 3D movies. Every movie after Salvation was actually bad, because it didn't progress the story, and it actually altered it, just for the sake of pandering to current politics. One of the reasons why any movie isn't enjoyable anymore, because it isn't about entertainment or progression of story anymore, but just politics-propaganda and rehashing 'working formulas' to make a guaranteed profit. Which aren't guaranteed anymore, because people grow tired of the same thing over and over again, just with a different coat on it. You can argue all of this, because Terminator movies have the timeloop advantage. But it's a weak argument for no't advancing the story and changing it for the sake of changing it. I watch movies because I want to have a bit of an escape from the day to day, same o same life situations and reality, just be entertained.

The original Terminator cost $6.4M in 1984, that about $19M in 2024 dollars. It made over 10x that, $78M ($231M in 2024) Genisys cost nearly $250M in production and marketing, and grossed only $440M. When considering net sales, the film most likely lost money. New movies spend far too much on production and special FX, to cover up for a poor story. Terminator had a great story and very little special FX, and managed to be very successful. Filmmakers need to spend more money on writing a great story and telling that story with great cinematography and stop trying to dazzle us with special effects.

Never saw it. But one thing strikes me: The original Sarah Connor was a under-class employee, skinny and sportive. This Sarah Connor looks well feeded and not skinny at all, what seems very unlikely in a war-like scenario for a mercenary kind of protagonist. This actress really do look very similar to the young Linda Hamilton, if she would be more skinny. A very popular actor as Christian Bale was committed to get lean and bulky in a very short period of time for some movies, why didn't they made it more accurate by letting her taken off some pounds for this important role..?

She did mention the terminator changed history when she was a child ; it killed her parents and was rescued by another terminator (another arnold)…this terminator end up as her guardian and raised her up as a warrior… the movie left a lot questions unanswered of coz… was about to make a second movie… but due to huge negativity from critics n audiences, it was cancelled.

The 1st part of the movie is quite fun to watch. 3 TErminators fight is a blast (too short thou) but the 2nd and 3rd is more and more BS. Also most of the casting sucks! Especially Sarah and Kyle. This movie could have been huge but its on a level of T3. Still better than Dark Fate shit.
