This is the issue with the episode. Once everyone saw 7 seconds of a Mythosaur, the rest of the episode, that was poorly written and had plot holes, is now ignored. As long as we get the popcorn feeding high. Fans should be annoyed at this, because this isn't the same show from Season 1.

I think it's mismatched expectations. They were expecting the bathing in the waters to be the whole season. That would be unbelievably boring, and their complaints would be "it's moving too slow" (much like their complaints with TLOU). It definitely seems like there is a plan for at least the next few seasons... about Mandalorian politics and uniting struggles, so I don't really understand the "no plan" complaint. Sure there might not be no plan about how to end Mandos story, but it doesn't seem like there's "no plan".

The drowning is still bloody stupid, Din is aware, capable of seeing atleast where his feet were in the water and the edge, but not in this episode. I just don’t see this show getting any better to be honest, too many wtf moments. Nothing significant happens? Din reaches his goal of bathing in the waters and a revelation of the Mythosaur (which then has Bo Katan questoning everything she thought she knew). She has also picked herself out of her stupor and we have Grogu growing in confidence and capabilities (being able to survive on his own and make his way across the star system). A decent bit happens, and we are at the end of Episode 2, at a point I didn't think we would reach until near the end of the season.

I might be wrong but honestly I think you guys still have your Andor hats on for this show. I feel like the Tone is consistent with the Mandalorian, there's exposition, action, kid comedy, and saying not much happened? As fans we deserve to ask for competently written and well directed shows. Respectfully, I disagree - the plot progressed insanely fast - I thought we were going to get an episode about the droid, then travelling to Mandalore, descent, finding the mines, etc. - nope, Din straight up completed his quest in 2 episodes - this gives the rest of the season complete freedom - will he rebel against the cult he is in, will Bo Katan try to unite more mandalorians again, they have plenty of options. Cool action, fast progression, Grogu growth, seeing the city, seeing the Mythosaur - just a lot of stuff. Plus the droid chip thing will 100% come back.

And a quite a bit happened in this episode while you sit there and say nothing happened. He completed his quest to bathe in the mines, got to know more about Bo/Kryze history, they found a Mythosaur. It just surprises me how polarizing this episode is with fans. It’s a 10/10 for me but that’s just because I love all of the lore and exposition. Also for the scenes between mando and bo katan they are great because it’s a story of someone who lost faith in the mandalorian way and mando who only has his son and his faith in the creed. And by the end you see her having faith in mando. Otherwise she wouldn’t save him or return the saber back to him. And in terms of the future plans it seems pretty easy what’s going to happen. The mythosaur is the beast that the first leader rode and is thought to be extinct. But it turns out that it’s alive and is probably going to be tamed. So it’s all about how mando becomes the leader that mandalorians need. The story may not be perfect but a 5/10 seems way off tbh

The one thing I really enjoyed was the break from mando needing something or has to do something but he has to do a favor every episode in order for him to progress. If you have seen 'The Clone Wars' animation series, you will love this episode. Bo-Katan's story there was amazing and it is a very good thing to see more of her. I especially liked how they portray the two different types of Mandalorians here and how they interact. We should not forget that Mando is basically a religious fanatic from an ultraorthodox group. This could be a very interesting plot line, facing your own dogmas, uniting the Mandalorians, teach Grogu 'the way' and kick some a** on their way. This episode started a bit silly, but became really good (7/10). All three seem to be, surprisingly, overly critical here.

So yea, I was satisfied. I have no clue how anyone could say “nothing happened with the plot”. Din just conquered his only stated mission: to bathe in the living waters on Mandalore. Sure the writing can be better, however It is obvious they weren't paying much attention. 1) To write away the use of IG along with making sense for how Grogu can go to Bo Katan they had Din get the astro mech droid in which they mention can do Auto pilot. 2) When mentioning the toxicity on Mandalor Din specifically said he wanted to know how toxic the air was INSIDE the cave. Being underground and under layers of rock and radiated glass, the possibility that the air is more toxic and has more radiation underground where it can be contained than outside is there. Ignoring what he said that he wanted to know how toxic it is inside than outside shows ignorance. When mentioning his sealed Mask, The air he can breath is temporary and it isn't the air that he is concerned about but the radiation that can affect his body through exposure, his armor does not have a seal, only his helmet. 3) Regarding the Dark Saber, it is by their Rule of Mandalor that he who wields the Dark Saber is rightful ruler of Mandalor. To be the rightful wielder, it must be won in combat and given that Din was ambushed and captured is not considered combat so the weird living droid is not its new owner. 4) If you were not paying attention, the grievous droid thing was having difficulty turning on the pump to drain Din, how long it took before it turned on can be speculated but it turned on when Bo arrived. 5) Din is not able to wield the Dark Saber to its potential due to his unbalance in mind and body. The Crystals used for sabers resonate with their wielder, the dark saber takes this to the extreme and only one that is of sound mind and body is able to wield it well. If not it feels heavy and gets heavier to prevent itself from being used from someone who isn't worthy even if the Saber was won in combat. Din being an apostate has his mind in worry and doesn't feel complete, the Saber recognizes this. Bo knows how to Dark Saber works which is why she is proficient with it, she had it for a long period of time. 6) When the water was disrupted Din was dragged down, how can Giant Beast live under the water for so long without food? It waits for any creature to disrupt the water and it goes for it. How Din survived is plot armor but that is why he was dragged down. 7) This episode was to show Bo seeing what the Creed means and how she needs to change her outlook as a Mandalorian because as Din said "Without it we are nothing" and that is why Bo followers left because they had nothing. Pay more attention to what they are saying and doing. Yes the writing needs to be better and we can do with less Grogu moving through a pod that pads out runtime but bashing parts that were explained and shown shows the lack of awareness of what the story is trying to tell... For how much there was in the 2 episodes.

I do agree the overall story direction still seems either missing or yet to present itself, but I enjoyed this episode a lot from a lore standpoint. The show is doing a continuation of filling lore holes as it did with the first 2 seasons as well as "reviving" some lore apparently with what happened in the last 5 minutes of this episode...

I really didn't think it was that bad man. Thought it was a nice detail that Bo found him by turning off her light, considering Mando fell in with his light on. By the end of this season, Bo-Katan will mount and ride the last Mythosaur and be dubbed Mandalore the great. I don't need a bunch of story all the time, there can be action heavy seasons.

Usually I agree with you guys but this review was a TOTAL miss. 8/10 episode. How I saw the episode is Mando still wanting to build that badazz battle droid but the parts are hard to come by (like a video game, he needs to search long and hard to complete that objective) so Mando has to settle with a Droid that can detect atmosphere (not just some droid with legs) which he reluctantly takes. Droid serves its purpose. Mando arrives at the plant (a long time objective) he battles his way down and enters the waters (another objective completed). A lot of MAJOR objectives were completed. Total miss review. I think the guys are looking at the show wrong. The show plays out like a video game- simple objectives with multiple side quests along the way. Some objectives are too hard to complete early game (like completing the battle droid) and must be Archived for later completion. Grand episode

Again, really feels like you guys aren't even watching it. Are you playing games while watching on a different screen or something? you're missing tons of stuff and it really feels like you're not interested, so I question why you're even reviewing this. Normally I enjoy your reviews and we're pretty much along the same side so it's pretty disappointing to see this drop in quality / professionalism. if you're busy with other stuff then go finish that and review it later. If you don't want to watch it, don't force yourselves to to make content. Grogu didn't fly the ship? he's pretty clearly pointing out where he wants to go to to the droid. You're still harping on the droid thing when it makes sense. Dude has a droid phobia, he only trusts that IG droid his buddy fixed that proved trustworthy. After going to separate planets and being told that IG-88 parts are basically impossible to find, he finally gets talked into a different droid - after he had exhausted all of his trusted contacts trying to find the parts to fix IG with. He didn't need the droid to test the air on the surface, but for pockets of gas in the mines / underground. He wasn't pulled underwater, part way down the steps were destroyed, he wasn't paying attention he was having a moment, he probably couldn't see through dark cave water.. he slipped and fell. Fuck sakes watch the show. You're getting downvotes because it's clear you're not watching or paying attention. I expect more than this half assed effort you've all made. "tell us what you think", yeah, sure. It's pretty clear you didn't read my comment on the last video. Maybe this one will get lucky. or maybe you just read the positive comments. Whatever. You're one of the last youtube channels I subscribe to, but if this is what I can expect going forward, I guess I should rethink that.

I think the episode was too dark, I literally couldn't see the action. And even when I could distinguish, the shaky cam and quick cuts ruined it. While the vfx is great, I think they depend too much on the screen room, there is a clear lack of on location shooting and I can feel it on screen. As for the story, it was alright, hated the ig-11 part on the first episode but this one thankfully didn't spend any more time with that. I think they got to the waters way to easily, if the characters barely had to try to get there, why would I care about it? The plot should have lasted at least one more episode, to explore more of Mandalore and the mines. There could have easily been more stuff to see and do. And yeah, Mando looked weak this episode, all to make Bo stand out. Hate when they do that. You can make her look awesome while still having Mando be awesome.

Yo Angry Joe. I am a huge fan. I usually agree with you guys but I thought the past two episodes were better than the scores you are giving them. It's laying groundwork and the pace is slow, but we are getting so much to where the story can go anywhere. It's a big galaxy and anything can happen. Seeing Mandalore in that state really added weight to what the empire really did and how much they need to come together.

I don't get this obsession with nitpicking irrelevant minor details and describing that as bad writing. Why care so much about how she got there so fast? And falling into traps doesn't make him "stupid", there were countless times where protagonists in the original trilogy fell in traps too. If anything having them being vulnerable and susceptible to making mistakes creates tension. I also don't agree with the idea of cramming every episode with major plot points. Sometimes it's great to have some breathing room, world building and just following the characters in their adventure. Still too early to tell if the overarching story is going to pan out or not. We'll see.

Wait 5/10 maybe you should rewatch it again it was better than 1st episode it was way better than mando trying to shoot IG-11. this was pretty solid to me. I’m just so damn glad that it didn’t take 1-2 episodes for Grogu to get to Bo Katan. When Mandalorian told grogu to go get bo katan I was like ahhhh crap here we go with 2 episodes of grogu learning to be by himself and a second an third plot taking place, diverting grogu to get to bo katan. But thank GOD that it was bam and bam grogu finds bo katan and 4 movie minutes later she finds Mandalorian. If only pacing can be just like that for every show. Unlike Andor which took them 3 episodes just to get to the gold, just dragging and dragging and dragging. I hope the pacing for this show stays the same.

it feels weird for mando to just give up on looking for a part to repair his IG buddy and then be totally fine with buying another random droid he doesn't trust. Mando isn't the type to give up easily, especially when it comes to finding/using dated equipment like a part that's no longer in production. That, and after R5 vanishes Mando just pressurizes his helmet and goes out anyway. Why didn't he just go outside and take the atmospheric readings with some doodad in the first place? A lot of the early part of this episode feels like setup, but the ending was well worth it-- The worldbuilding was great, and the visuals of a ruined mandolorian city are phenomenal, but this episode feels like a reveal and a character moment that's supposed to come much later in the season.

I really liked episode 2. Much much better than episode 1. It was just a really cool adventure episode. Favreau is really good at thrill rides, and this episode is no exception. The weird part to me were the IRL baby sounds from Grogu. I feel like Grogu is older than that now. He's been through a lot! Edit: I"m giving it a 9 as a standalone episode. I had a blast with this one. I'm not looking for Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul. I just want a cool space adventure show written by someone who cares about the material. Favreau is delivering bigly.
