Lotus. A car brand synonymous with racing history and featherweight design. When it comes to great handling sports cars that give a satisfying experience it's very hard to argue with a Lotus. The Lotus Evora GT has some big shoes to fill with it being the successor to the praised Lotus Evora 400. If you are looking for an analog feeling modern sports car look no further. Thanks for watching and new uploads every Tuesday,Thursday, and Saturday!

I own a 400 I bought new and the two models are very similar. GT is more like a trim difference, but it's a nice improvement. Good review,. You capture the spirit of the thing. One correction I'd make from experience is that an Evora makes a better GT than you might think. Most owners tour them. I do, anyway. I have no problem taking it anywhere, and my wife is comfortable in it so it works as a GT and a hot rod. The Evora is on the way to becoming a modern collectible. They are reasonable to own compared to what you'd have to spend to duplicate the experience, which I think a Cayman or a cooking grade 911 will not quite do all things considered. Not knocking the Porsches which are excellent at what they do. As an owner I'm biased but I believe the Lotus is a more exciting car to drive everyday. I wish 90% of the people who have negative opinions about the Evora had actually ever seen one, never mind driven one. The lack of knowledge about the brand, demonstrated in the comments on every Lotus review, is one reason why they are undervalued. It has nothing to do with the car. Residual values prove this because these cars depreciate slowly. It will actually cost less car to car (retained value) to buy an Evora than a typical Cayman or 911, used or new apart from the Porsche ikons. Modern Lotus hold value and will continue to do so. Last of their kind.

I came out of a 997 turbo into an Evora 400 and realised I had never known what feel and handling was really about. And as for speed ‘not quite being up there’... don’t believe it. This thing hurtles!! The icing on the cake is that when running through any tunnel or underpass I swear it sounds like an F1 car. It’s hilariously raucous yet discreet at the press of a button. And please don’t compare it a bog standard Cayman. It’s GT4 level and some again for significantly less. If you have a GT4, flog it quick before everyone wises up 😀 PS: great video review but I would disagree it’s not a GT car. I did regular 200 mile journeys with the ease and comfort of any sorted saloon.

I own the 2021 version as well as a Porsche GT3 RS, 2019. There is no comparison in the cars. One cost about $100K, the other with options almost three times that. But which is more enjoyable to actually drive? The Porsche is a monster, 7 speed PDK, giant wing, aero, etc etc. The steering and exhaust sound is absolutely stunning. But the Lotus more than holds it's own. It gets more attention on the street than the yellow GT3 RS. It has better road feel through the steering wheel. The sound, though not quite as raucous as the Porsche is just music in your ears. Absolutely enjoyable exhaust notes - raw and throaty. It is just really fun to drive. Is the Porsche worth almost 3x as much in the "fun to drive" department? No. Just very different experiences but for someone who can't have the Porsche - go drive one of these. You HAVE to drive it to get it. This reviewer captures well the thrill of doing so. Nothing like it.

I own one. Bought a new '18 400 and have never regretted that move, ever. A total hoot to drive, very nimble loads of grunt for that weight and a blast to drive. As for pricing, if you find a dealer that has had one on their lot a few months, or towards the end of the model year, you can negotiate a good deal, I did. Or, try and find a used one. One think the video does not tell is the build quality. I find it to be excellent, no shakes or rattles at all. I think the new 49% purchase by Geely (Chinese) has given Lotus a lifeline and they can focus on building really good cars. As was implied in the video, you get a lot of looks and stares. They are drop dead gorgeous and quite rare.

I think there’s some misunderstanding on what underrated means. Something can be overpriced, but underrated in terms of the hype/ appreciation surrounding that thing.

3:10 The cupholder being there is okay, just for the fact this Lotus got the manual transmission, which so many people are always happy to see like myself. And sometimes people complain a drink is in the way while shifting. So I'm okay with them doing that. More fun to drive the car quick, if you got a drink with you. Would only get annoying if you wanted a sip every 30 seconds literally. 😂 This car is cool as hell. Love how it sounds, and how it looks. Seems quick enough. I've always been a fan of the Lotus Elise, Exige, & Evora. I've seen maybe 3 in my whole lifetime, I believe they were all the Elise. A Lotus is rare to find, and this being in a city where you'll literally see every sports car. It's great that they still make them tho, I love seeing fun & different cars on the road.

I’ve driven this car & the Elise in different specs & they were all amazing to drive. I also drove a Porsche boxter also but they are just too much like a VW now ( like a posh TT) . I would choose lotus every day. Great drivers cars.👍🇬🇧

A couple of comments, The Evora GT or even the 400 is on my list of cars I'd like to own one day but the price tag is just out of the range. The reason I believe the price is so high is because lotus makes only limited amount of these vehicles or cars in general and to bring the cost down would mean pumping out more and more of these. Which is a hard to do to begin with and then they lose that "exotic" feel to them. I feel these get underrated because society is pushing for more gadgets within cars. Cars are becoming the new cellphone of the 2000's, Look at the new supra for example toyota I believe has said every year or two years, you will see updates to the engines, interiors, suspension which drives the costs up. Just the way the market is trending unfortunately... when these get down in price in 10/15 years... maybe one will be in the garage! Otherwise keep up the good work!!

Totally worth the price of entry. It’s just so much more special and involving than a Cayman. I had a new Cayman loaner recently and I was bored to tears. It’s so numb compared to the Lotus driving experience, or even the 987 Cayman.

Great review. I have the same enthusiasm for this car. Although.. Reviews of the Boxster/Cayman have the same complaint: the gearing is too long. I know the EPA figures into some of it.... but, still. Wonder how long the Cup 2 tires last on the street?

I’m not sure if people understand the paint on these cars. Besides the fact that they are hand assembled, each panel of the cars are actually hand painted by a dedicated team. The paint is mixed each time they build a car and then painted. It is not an automated process like with larger manufacturers. Plus certain colors and limited production. In addition to this, people were also able to send custom paint samples to lotus and have their car painted in unique bespoke color of a customers choosing. Really a unique process
