You have to get good at convincing people and rewording all that theory and philosophy into words they can actually understand without spending years in college. @@SeanPS True, that's just _my_ opinion, and others might think differently. But I still think that this video does a very good job at showing who is right. Mises uses facts, evidence, history, and bases his ideas on logic. Marx, however, bases his ideas on feelings, utopia and disproved theories. That pretty accurately represents the two ideologies IRL if you ask me. Those who see fact will say Mises won, and those who see fiction will say Marx won, just like real life. No, our solution is not to forget Marx. We should disprove him instead. We've tried forgetting Marx, but he will always be re-discovered by the selfish and gullible, which is why we need to prop him up instead, so that we can tear him down. We need to make sure that everyone knows who Marx was, and how his ideology fails not because it was never 'real' socialism, but because his ideas are fundamentally flawed. @@decodoe Another genious that can't differentiate between generating wealth and capitalism. Naziosocialist Germany and (!) fascism were (in terms of economy, not racial and other policies) built on the idea of protectionst policy and self-sufficiency through mixture of private and public ownership over the means of production. Which did allowed private profits (generation of wealth) for (mostly) selected and sometimes lucky individuals in the society, however, puting national interest first. In the instance where public (nations) interest would be in the need of assistance from or directly clash with interests of private individuals. The state would prevail and if needed through the use of force towards the individuals who had accumulated wealth. The similar scenario can be seen in various examples when subjects of state (citizens) are controled by a higher entity (Emperors, Kings, Tzars, Dictators). Examples can be seen from Medival age and/or Feudal system, when Emperors, Kings and Tzars needed finances for conquest or defence, they would generate wealth through force if required, to Kulaks in Communist Soviet Union to many other examples throughout history. Therefore, Facism is not differentiated from any other dictatorial, authoritarian, totalitarian system when it comes to generating wealth, it is differentiated in social and political issues, but that's not because its driven by capitalism.

Lyrics of March of History: Marx v. Mises -Marx- Workers of the world, assemble It’s time for the ruling classes to tremble I’m the people’s hero -- MVP M, A, R, X, yeah you know me Let’s go back to when men were free We hunted and gathered communally But get ready -- here comes the twist A villain appears called a Capitalist He puts the proletariat (that’s us) in chains Exploits our labor and pockets the gains Through slick ads and tricks lads and ladies in kind Selling fake needs he poisons our hearts and minds He rots our soul through alienation Pursuing limitless accumulation He works us into an early grave Through debt steals back the money we save Greed is the gospel Profit: God The rich get richer through graft and fraud The poor get poorer but you don’t care Doesn’t that sound laissez unfair? 200 years I’ve been singing this song Now my chorus is 99 percent strong The revolution’s here -- it’s time to repent Your moment is over, your capital’s spent! Chorus: -Socialist- This is history’s lesson -Capitalist- You think he’s right I’m gussin’? -Socialist- All we want is progression Without bourgeois oppression -Capitalist- So we look for the truth -Socialist- As we tighten our boots -Both- Who’s right, who’s wrong Left, right, left, now the march is on -Mises- Guten Tag, Marx, nice to meet ya My name’s Ludwig: call me ‘Teacher’ The master of markets, the Austrian boss You don’t like profits? Well let’s talk loss The problem with your plan is nobody wins Except Stalin, Pol Pot, Ho Chi Minh Lenin, Mugabe -- remember Berlin? They built a wall to keep their people in Your theories have a rotten foundation Built on control, not cooperation Centralized power completely corrupts Real people suffer, violence erupts Your system depends on the very same people You decry as greedy, bourgeois and evil If we’re not fit to run our own lives Why would you expect our votes to be wise? If you really want to help people rise up Unleash the free market: lift their lives up It was Capitalism, not a Socialist plan Saved billions in India, China, Japan Everyone has a unique purpose and plan No one solution can serve the whole land Each individual has their own voice The heart of my theory is freedom of choice! Chorus: -Capitalist- This is history’s lesson (Socialist: Yeah right) Let’s pursue our expression Living free from aggression So we look for the truth With the freedom to choose -Both- Who’s right, who’s wrong Left, right, left, now the march is on -Marx- Free Marketeers love to play this game Mao kills millions, Marx gets blamed It’s deceptive, dishonest, plain unfair Did I drive the tanks at Tiananmen Square? Man I’m a humanist You can check my receipts But you gotta break eggs if you wanna eat Don’t like violence? Admit defeat Then I’ll call this revolution complete Till then, let’s get a few things straight I’m not shaping the future, I’m embracing our fate My utopian forebears weren’t that specific But this analysis is highly scientific Every social system has governing laws Capitalism? Doomed because The system generated its own fatal flaws By uniting workers in a common cause Thanks to you, we have all the wealth we need To seize control and eradicate greed The people are rejecting your bourgeois lies Real Marxism has never been tried Equality is the core of my creed From this one’s ability to that one’s need Our healthcare, finance, and industry Let’s collectivize and set ourselves free -Mises- Your standard refrain ‘oh that’s not the real thing’ The most common verse all your followers sing The closer we get to your ideal system The further we get down the Road to Serfdom The empirical record can’t be denied Your ideas don’t work but they just won’t die Attention: this is not breaking news Jevons and Menger lit that fuse Now here comes the bomb via Von Bohm-Bawerk He blew up your system, exposed the core quirk The heart of your theory is exploitation Of surplus value, that’s a bogus equation You can’t explain value by measuring the cost of labor That theory of value has lost favor Value is subjective by every measure One man’s trash is another man’s treasure There’s no exploitation if two people arrange Voluntary exchange Man, that’s not deranged That bourgeois transaction you diss with a scoff Creates benefit for both so we’re both better off Here’s the real problem, the crucial equation Without private markets, there’s no calculation To coordinate courses, allocate resources, incentivize choices Because it lacks prices What crops should I grow? Should this factory go? How should I pick a J.O.(B)? How would your planners ever know? Your theory is a bundle of confusion Socialism got crushed by marginal revolution Chorus: This is history’s lesson All we want is progression -Capitalist- Let’s pursue our expression Living free from aggression -Socialist- So we look for the truth As we tighten our boots -Both- Who’s right, who’s wrong Left, right, left, now the march is on -Marx- We’re all better off, are you kidding me Mises? My immiseration thesis tears you to pieces Your economy grows, but not our wages You call that progress? I think it’s outrageous -Mises- In 1820 everyone was poor Until Capitalism kicked down the door Real wage growth, not stagnation Saved 80% of the world from starvation -Marx- You kicked down the door but you locked us out That’s what your ‘free market’ is all about Here’s what you do: on your next shopping spree Pick up this book by my boy Tommy P. -Mises- The pie can get bigger, it’s not zero sum Free markets have lifted the lowest incomes If you really want to help out the poorest nations Encourage peace, trade, and immigration -Marx- The Earth is boiling and your solution Is more production, more pollution? More cheap trinkets in bigger malls More fossil fuels, more aerosols? (Mises: Wait, what?) For a problem this big we need total control A green New Deal to save the North Pole We can’t gamble the future on anarchy Greed’s not a plan, it’s insanity! -Mises- Your story’s bombastic, your rhetoric’s strong There’s only one problem: your theory’s wrong! The wealthiest countries do the most to conserve Haven’t you heard of the Kuznets curve? Only wealthy societies can afford to go green If you want a better world, see the unseen Even carbon will bend to creative destruction With entrepreneurship in the means of production Chorus: -Socialist- This is history’s lesson -Capitalist- The market’s a blessin’ -Socialist- All we want is progression -Capitalist- Living free from aggression -Socialist- So we look for the truth -Capitalist- With the freedom to choose -Both- Who’s right, who’s wrong Left, right, left, now the march is on -Marx- I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again The long march of history will come to an end Hagel was close, but too ‘a priori’ Watch me break down my dialectical story Proletariat, bourgeoisie Them versus us, you versus me Slave, master, lord and serf New class battles, same old turf We have what we need to throw the chains off us Organize the economy like the post office The state takes over but that’s not the whole plan Watch it wither away and leave Socialist man Our goal is true fairness, outcomes that are equal Capitalism? Over. Here’s a Socialist sequel Revolution’s coming, prepare for the fight Workers of the world, unite! -Mises- Nothing is determined, you’re so fatalistic A grand theory of history? Be realistic! Your failed predictions? A distraction. Here’s some questions that guide human action: Where are we going? What’s the right course? What will motivate us, incentives or force? Here’s what you miss from commanding heights Each person’s gifts and individual rights Across every continent, culture and creed People have flourished only when freed To find passion, profit, charity and love Through the shake of a hand, not a boot from above Socialism’s record isn’t hard to parse First it was tragedy, now it’s a farce Let’s unite people from every nation In peace, exchange, and cooperation!

@Krónika Because you aren't competing with a store when you buy something there.
@petterwiggen58334 жыл бұрын
@Krónika you can have competition and cooperation they are not as opposite as you my think, competition just means, in terms of capitalist, several companies competing to sell same or similar products and services. Cooperation just means working together to achieve a goal, I think that's the actual definition but works for capitalism, and companies are working together to strengthen the economy through the competition. It's like In the States Walmart vs Target. Yes they are in competition with each other because their both are stores that you can go in and buy stuff from their competition means they have to improve or provide better or cheaper products which in the long run helps strengthening the economy. I think a tl:Dr example is a sports team just each person is trying to become the best, but the end goal is for your team to win and your internal competition can aid it achieve the cooperation to obtain the end goal.
@petterwiggen58334 жыл бұрын
@Krónika The cooperation is the biproduct of the competition. The competition creates jobs, provides products and services, and allows for growth so the cycle keeps going. I don't think I worded it properly the first time but this is not mental gymnastics. They have opposite meanings, yes but that doesn't mean that in actions their opposite. There is a load of examples that could be used to show that cooperation and competition aren't that opposite in action. I honestly think your the one that did the mental gymnastics if after my clarification just now, you don't understand or disagree with them being opposites in meanings alone.

What even are you trying to imply? Because you have material security and access to needs that you are wiser on all topics? That doesn't make sense. People trying to use their "status" as justification for their authority are boring hacks.
@gintasvilkelis25445 жыл бұрын
@@larkohiya Not at all. The reason why this phrase resonated with me, is because I interpret it like this: the highly-centralized governments (in most of the Western Democracies) are becoming ever-more-encroaching into people's lives, i.e. in effect treating them like "incompetent children who don't know how to run their lives, therefore the *state* has to do it for them". And this then creates this "logical disconnect": you think the people are too immature to be able to run their lives, yet at the same time you expect those same people to be "wise and mature voters".

It worked in the Soviet Union- they broke up the Russian empire and the various nationalities had self-determination. There was a balance between national independence and internationalism, fraternity between workers regardless of nationality- you can’t have all of one or the other. It DIDN’T work in Yugoslavia, true, because Tito took a completely opposite line. He (and his party) banned ALL expressions of nationalism, which ended up working poorly for them. This is one of the reasons Tito and Stalin split, because Tito opposed expression of any and all national differences. Stalin was from Georgia, a small nation who before the revolution was repressed by Russia and had their culture stamped out by Russian culture, he was big on the national question. Now, it makes sense why Tito took the stance he did, the different Balkan states had a history of attacking each other and they had just come out of World War II, where some Croatians were even more brutal than the Nazis. This is what it looks like when you have STRONG nationalism with NO internationalism. So while we can be sympathetic to Tito looking at his historical conditions, at the end of the day he was wrong

I'd love to see a rap battle where Marx his rap is not written by an institution specifically set out to destroy his ideas. It's honestly propaganda, subtle, but good. They severely misrepresented Marx and framed socialism as equal to authoritarianism.

@@MartenVanDerPal I agree with you on that one, both Mises and Marx are horribly misrepresented here and this video does feel like blatant liberal propaganda. But hey, that's 99% of modern media for you.
