It's not difficult to get sponsorships, but he has earned the right to work directly with companies and share his experience. In reality, he is helping to build them up, and share their quality products to new demographics, and players. That's just business and marketing, between two entities who actually love what they do. Let them get paid for it. If you want that, you could do it too.
