I grew up 20 minutes away from Picton, the sounds was my back yard. I moved to Australia with family in 2011 but nz has always been pulling at my heart strings so a couple months ago I decided I'm going to buy a block in keneperu or portage and that will be my new life, the marlborough sounds are my favourite place on earth

You've put in a lot of hard work into this channel. Its actually one of the better channels. Weird. that it hasn't got the subs its deserves. I really like it when North Americans review New Zealand. Btw, abortion was "decriminalized" in 1978, so you in practice you could get an abortion. The change in 2020 was to make it *definitely* legal, not because of an exception in the crimes act that made it not a crime in some circumstances.

@@SailingPivo I'm an American expat in Oaxaca, Mexico, almost 76. I left the States in 2007 to trek the mountains of the world. In 2011 I bought a bike while in China and have now cycled a large amount of the world. I was in Oaxaca when covid hit. It's now a home base. @@SailingPivo During covid I started taking care of lots of dogs in the hills. The need was so great that I found myself going up every day. In short order it was consuming my life and wearing me out emotionally, so I started a project called "The Dogs of Monte Albán" and solicited volunteers. I no longer have to go up every day, but it still consumes my life. We provide sterilization, medical attention, and homes when possible to a shifting population of 20 to 30 dogs. The size of the project now exceeds the number of volunteers available; consequently, I'm still forced to do a lot of the work. I know where my next trip will be, but I can't leave till the project is on a more solid footing. I also ended up with 3 cats and an untold number of neighborhood dogs. How I got myself in this pickle is a mystery.

You know at the turn of the eighteenth century there were lucky to be 100,000 maori in NZ, so the idea the maori have a story for every nook and cranny in NZ is nonsense it's a modern adaptation to give the maori some sense of mystique and NZ tourism some dollars...moreover the maori were not the original people of NZ and have only inhabited the land for approx 600 yrs...
