After viewing this I went home took the strings off of my guitar and put a potted plant in the sound hole-nuff said?

You don’t have to do that. You just have to avoid playing ,in public , after him. For about a year.Or three.

@@BryanClark-gk6ie As much as I enjoy Tommy Emmanuel, he is a showman with guitar skills. He admits to that. It is my opinion, while Marty is also a showman, he is a musician who plays guitar and mandolin.

Just to see this in 2013 amazing . Fast forward it is 2024 . Marty Stuart and his band still rocks up a stage but the presence of Tommy Emmanuel can conquer the spot light as commanding with his style . He is undoubtedly off the charts of any top guitarist in the world . Hard to not leave him of any list . He has earned those honors .

He made an interesting comment once. He said he knew he was born with a gift, and I believe the exact quote was, also, that “I knew I had to pursue it with every ounce of my energy.” So, it’s both.

And having a brother equally as talented encouraging you to be the best you can be. The experience of performing live from an early age. A deep love for musicianship and crafting songs. There’s an emotional component that shapes musicians, it’s not just the mechanics of playing and repetition. We are products of not just our choices but also of circumstance. When your brother is so good he’s known as The Wiz, you have to do something different to step out of that shadow and forge your own path. And aren’t we glad he did 😁

Often we have guitarists play just for show, offering a rendition that is not pleasant to hear. This was one of those occasions, showing that even one of the best guitarists on the planet is not above it.
@hammill444Ай бұрын
So you are saying he’s just playing for “show”? If you are, I completely agree. Kind of a Vegas style revue showboat playing.- all bluster no soul.

Like a lot of Billy Strings' stuff. In Tommy's concert video I have he plays a lot of slow Atkin's style stuff too. He can do it all and I think he does in his shows.
@guermeisterdoodlebug7980Ай бұрын
@@gene2069 Yes, but mad respect for both. Makes me think of Buster B Jones a true phenomenon. If you dig really deep, you’re fine, he can play beautiful slow and moderately paced instrumentals. But, as Chet Atkins supposedly said, Buster tended to play everything like he was double park.
