I grew to love Fairy Tail for what it is. Power of friendship and never giving up as long as there is anyone who believes in you was very important to me in a time where I thought I couldn't accomplish anything. Fairy Tail gave me the motivation to do it because it told me, as long as there are my family and my friends, I can break my limits and can do anything I want to. That's how I made it this far and I love Fairy Tail for it :)

Sniff, FairyTail is a decent show in terms of world building and character focus. I like and I do agree that its a fun series but I think the whole point is that I had a good time with the show. So yeah, I like the show and fun but what I hate more is what it could have been.

Actually one thing i blame on mashima, on top of many other things, is that he never really exploit the world building aspect of the series. The location of each arc(except edolas) is never relevant, it feels super generic and we never really dive in the politics of the fairy tail world. Like the king of fiore is fucking useless and the magic council is slightly useful.

Basically. Why I hate this series so much is because a lot of serious situations could've been handled a lot better than I thought. The last few arcs from the time skip, specifically the tournament arc and the war arc were things that angered me severely.

The ending was more disappointing then the whole arc. It also kept acting as if someone was going to die over and over. That was what ruined the arc for me, if you’re going to have an emotional farewell before dying, make sure you go through with it. It felt like Hiro changed his mind on the biggest things right in the middle of making the arc. If at least one person died (Most Notably Natsu) protecting everyone then it would have been good. But that’s just my opinion

That is what I’ve been trying to say fairy tail it’s a shounen, it the fights are not the main focus. The main focus are the emotional moments and the characters. And the way they are slowly developed, and the way it handles the characters. For example think of the GMG ending, where sting gave up. It was not about having a giant fight between sting and fairy tail but about the theme of the arc, and the theme of the serie. Which was sting promising he would beat natsu in all his glory and prove he was the strongest, but winning the way he was about to was shameful, at that time you all hated Minerva, and sting would have had no been better than Minerva if beat up on injured people. Fairy Tail is one of those animes that gives you a lot of good feels and laughs, plus it has some good theme songs and epic music to go with it. Of course, I think the story hit its stride when they did the island arc where one of the three Dark Guilds attack during the S-class trials and its aftermath, had some good feels, which makes the tourament AKA Grand magic games arc even better because they are working to rebuild their guild rep, via the quick route but also for the members who weren't on the island and not frozen in time for seven years, I find that a clever use of the Time skip side of things!

The OSTs are what reminds me I will always have a place in my heart for FT. Yes, I am disappointed in what the series could have achieved but I have sort of gotten over that by now. Sometimes, I just go back and rewatch some of the earlier moments to bask in nostalgia. Laxus leaving FT at the end of the Thunder Legion arc still tears me up. FT guild winning the grand magic games and reclaiming the top spot, accompanied by the beautiful triumphant music, still fills me up with a stupid grin. FT is freshly baked stinking garbage but I will be lying to myself if I say it doesn't have it's moments.

SPOILERS FROM THE MANGA: August was too poweful for them to beat so what does the auhtor to to make the heroes beat him ? make him kill himself after seeing his mother, the war arc pissed me off so much in the manga, almost no fight felt earn just one asspull after the other and the 2 the frustrate me the most is erza vs her mom ( bs she winning with every bone in a body except one of her arms broken) and natsu vs zeref , dont even get me started the final fight in the manga too

I could understand Erza vs Irene as she broke every bone in her body but her right arm but before she’s fought without feeling pain which is actually more dangerous to your body because it doesn’t recognize when to stop. She also at that same time fought blind, deaf, being unable to smell or feel as well. With what Hiro has put Erza through I honestly believe that she can do that. Despite its glaring faults, I do have to put Fairy Tail in my top 10 anime I’ve seen. As Nux has said, it’s a damn good time. It is, at its best, a story of friendship and bonds. And even though that affects the battles sometimes in the worst ways possible, I find myself looking at the characters as friends of my own and I feel part of the guild. That said, I’m saving the final season for when it’s complete! I can’t wait

@@truemanofculture8079 Listen the issue is this I loved fairy tail to death. and yes i always saw the pattern of each arc starting and ending the same but it felt like a happy world to be a part of so i forgave it then the last arc came up and at that point i wss sick and tired of every Makarov death fake out and nothing coming off Laxus inhaling all that demon virus that was suposed to have some sort of horrible effect on his body and health despite him being my husbando I wanted to see some consequence But you know what broke the straw for me? Juvia my favorite Wizard in the entire show had a wonderful arc growth and a fitting death by giving away her life and her blood to save Gray. I cried cause i loved her but at the same time it felt good and right, for her to die saving the man who saved her from her lonelyness was a perfect ending to her story even if it wasnt happy ir just felt correct. And i was excited cause that told me the writer was taking off the gloves for this final arc and War... Then a chapter or two later We hear Wendy say off screen how Juvia is fine, she saved her on time.... HOW THE FUCK DO YOU HEAL SOMEONE WHO HAS NO BLOOD IN HER BODY AFTER SHE DIED?! They used her to just create a stupid situation for GRay and Natsu to finally have a serious fight for no reason and then didnt even have the balls to follow throught their "stuffing women in the fridge" move. Thats what killed it for me and i seriously never read a single chapter after that till this day cause I knew at that moment that they would once again with the power of friendship holding hands and everyone would get a happy ending.

Fairy Tail has a lot of good scenes. It is just when you ask even the most basic questions like: Why is the character doing that or why is this happening, the story comes apart at the seems.

I love the Fairy Tail war arc, because it does what Naruto tried to do right. It brought back all of these characters we'd met along the way, and we see how everyone has grown, not just the main characters.
