The thing I try to do while watching Matrix movies is don't even try to figure any of it out. Just look, listen, and enjoy. In the end, it worth to watch
@donavonhoward114
@donavonhoward114 3 ай бұрын
Figuring it out is what makes the story so great. Once you understand completely what's going on, it enriches everything about the trilogy, including the first film. All of the information is there, you just have to watch, listen, and put it all together. There are a lot of fan theories out there, but they are all false as far as I have seen, and a lot of people misunderstand details about the story. All of the information is there, and none of it is hidden.

@Stockfish1511
@Stockfish1511 3 ай бұрын
Totally disagree, the more you analyse and look for theories the more sense it makes. Part of the reason why matrix is such masterpiece is that it has endless theories till today that people debate. Second and third part is more complicated for the average joe. There is layers to the second and third movies. I would argue they are just as good as the first one. Second one has some boring moments, but still its pretty deep in plot. People think like architect scene is boring and confusing. But alot is spoken there about what matrix is.
@odiumgeneris729
@odiumgeneris729 Ай бұрын
I can't agree with this. Everything from The Architects reveal to the reasons why Seraph, Smith, and Neo glow gold while everything else is green is part of the journey. And in general, *turning your brain off in order to enjoy something is an indictment of whatever you're watching.* I shouldn't have to turn my brain off to be entertained by something. That's NPC stuff.

@@bdleo300 What I like so much about the first Matrix is that at its core it's about questioning the system we live in and how it exerts control over people (apart from all the cinematic aspects like AI and breeding, which ultimately just serves for entertainment purposes). That was also the reason why it was possible for them to leave the Matrix, because they realized how they were being controlled and that is something that happens in the real world as well. We humans are controlled, influenced and used from an early age. We are forced to go to school, get a degree, get insurance, get a 9-5 job and, translated, "function." However in parts 2 and 3, they invented a new system of control outside the matrix, with a senator and military, rankings and everything that goes with it. This contradicts with the beliefs from the first film.

9:40 : Go watch Animatrix (8 shorts movies on the theme of Matrix by different producers) you gonna know the story of this young man. 29:00 : For all scenes with the Merovingian and all his crew, remember what the Oracle said (before Smith arrived) about Vampire/Werewolf's programs who didn't want to be deleted. In fact the Program Merovingian keep them alive in his crew. That's why Persephone said to the two guys that there're difficult to kill only with silver bullet (then killed one of them). Then the twins were ghost's program. As a french, i love the Merovingian and the way he cursed in french, so many words i already used in my youth. loool.

I'm so glad to see you enjoying this. And every other reactor who doesn't give in to the dogma surrounding the sequals seems to enjoy them too as far as I've found! I know the action is a bit gimmicky compared to the first, with Neo just ascending to level 100, but the outer matrix stories in Zion still hits hard and makes it "real" or "relatable" enough for me. Me and My Dad used to watch this trilogy at least a few times a year as gimmicky action movies so I do get a nostalgia trip from these, but it's only as I've gotten older that I've put all the pieces together and understood the scope of what these movies are trying to do and say. They hit very much like an Anime, more so than perhaps any live action anime interpreration I think I've seen thus far. It's OK to not like Reloaded and Revelations, but to say they're not even worth watching is just silly to me.. It's a 3 part story. If you're going to commit to the first, you might aswell digest the full story I will say the number 4 reboot was a little lack-luster for me, but again, I won't begrudge the time I put into watching it. If I wasn't watching that, I'd have probably found some other shit movie that night. 😂 Can't wait to see you watch Revelations to cap off the original story. I love it. Perhaps that's a minority opinion. But I still love it. And I love watching you watch the stuff that I love and love it so, thx! ❤

Basically the three coolest things about this movie, character-wise, are: 1: In the first movie, Smith said that humans are a virus because they go to a place and multiply. As soon as he faces the most common human emotion (fear of death at the end of the first movie), he chooses to remain in the Matrix and become a literal virus. 2: Neo is actually the One, but being the One means nothing. The One is created by the machines in order to keep humans in Zion, periodically destroy the city and have the One choose some humans from the Matrix to free them, create a new Zion and restart the cycle. Machines need to have some people (the ones who realize it being a simulation) be freed, because if they remained in the Matrix (knowing it was a simulation), this would risk the Matrix' crashing. The One is made to ensure the Matrix' survival. Neo is different only because the Oracle had a change of heart and decided to help humans. She "forced" (or at least guided) love between Neo and Trinity, so that Neo makes a different decision compared to his predecessors when he goes to the Architect. Previous Ones chose to accept the machines' deal, the destruction of the city and the "Reload" of Matrix. He, on the other hand, is ready to risk humanity's extinction in order to save Trinity. At the end he can stop the Sentinels in the real world because he's the first One to leave the Source/Architect with his powers and with a higher self-awareness of what he is (he has part of the Matrix code inside him). 3: The Merovingian is probably the Oracle's predecessor. He co-created a previous version of the Matrix along with the Architect. But his Matrix failed, and the Merovingian chose to remain in the Matrix instead of going to the Source. That's why he's so different from other programs, and way more powerful.
@NoriMori1992
@NoriMori1992 3 ай бұрын
What I always heard is that The Merovingian was a previous One. But I like the idea that he was a previous Oracle, that's interesting.
@donavonhoward114
@donavonhoward114 3 ай бұрын
That's also why Neo can affect the machines in the real world, because he is still connected to the machine mainframe through the code he carries, and so are the machines, and anything connected to the mainframe. Instead of reinserting the code, he chooses the other option destabilizing the Matrix even further, and putting the machines in a vulnerable position to need his help to stop the virus (Smith), and stabilize the Matrix again. I won't go any further because I don't want to ruin the reaction in case she see's this comment. A lot of people misunderstand the sequels, and come up with their own fan theories such as the real world being another layer of Matrix. In truth, all of the information is in the films, and nothing is hidden, yet these films can be difficult for a lot of people to comprehend with all of the information thrown at us so quickly. The sequels get a lot of undeserved criticism, but they enrich the story so much. It's one of the greatest stories ever told in film in my opinion, and there is no stone left unturned in the writing.

First thing is that "The Matrix" is a virtual space created by AI, intended to emulate a human virtual world () for biological humans, through a cervical connection to their brain stems, in order to harvest them for energy, and then: 1. Smith, embodying an AI program, selfishly demonstrates practically no interest in being a mere agent, enforcing the laws of the Matrix (explicit since M1) - instead he deeply wishes to be free from it and to roam/rule the infinite realm of the machine world's network; 2. "The One" is a residual flaw inherent from the intricate mathematical and complex system that underlies the Matrix (akin to a buffer overflow in contemporary software), despite being developed from the ground up by AI to simulate a balanced human world; 3. The Architect and the Oracle, not the Merovingian, created the first iteration of the Matrix, which was heavenly and a complete failure because, of course, humanity cannot, and does not, thrive in a heavenly environment, it needs order and chaos to maintain a sense of purpose. The Merovingian is briefly mention as a sort of an amusement park, responsible for wives tales, ghosts, vampires, and all sorts of ancient fears. The Merovingian is an unimportant character in the grand scheme of things, regardless of how many iterations you run, he's just a boring filler (as is the Oracle and the Architect). Most deep character: Smith Least deep character: everyone else, including Neo

One thing that I love about the Matrix apart from just being amazing movies is the concept itself. In recent times Simulation theory has started to gain some huge traction especially from the scientific community. Niel Degrasse Tyson held an amazing live talk with astrologers, astrophysicists, mathematicians and even a philosopher, the talk was incredible and the Matrix itself isn't actually that crazy of an idea as whole. Scary and ridiculously intriguing.

Don't overlook the ramifications of Neo exhibiting superhuman abilities in the 'real' world. Back in 2003 I remember the buzz of audiences agonizing & arguing for months over this potentially far reaching plot point, until we finally got Revolutions 🤐 Also, I recall there was loads of buzz about the identity of the guy who glances across at Neo as he walks away from Merv's table, just before Neo's initial meeting with Merv. In retrospect people are critical of this film, but at the time it was widely adored; expanding the lore, delivering amazing action sequences, and leaving the story wide open for the finale.

I like Matrix Reloaded. The crescendo of music at the end is hilarious because it reminds me of old serials that wolf end in “duh-duh-duh!” 😂

Nice reaction. 👍 If you want to know more about the background story, I would suggest watching "The Animatrix" after watching the third movie. It's a small series of short, independent movies made by the authors of The Matrix and they tell a bit more of the story.

It's lost to everyone (including Trinity) that Neo isn't kissing Persiphone -- it was his residual self-image that was kissing her. Trinity should give 2 💩💩

Lol, that scene on the freeway. I grew up in LA and although the area has been CG'd and enhanced, it's still very much LA.

Some people really hate both of the last two. But I really like this second one and only think the third is kind of disappointing. They kind of serve different purposes. The first is to introduce the mind bending concept. The second is to expand on the world and the story and to show some of the cool action that can be done in the Matrix. And then the third is to resolve the story points with the architect system of the repeating matrix and the problem of Smith.

There are three other mediums that go with the trilogy. Enter the Matrix, which is a game, follows Ghost and Niobe blowing up the powerplant. The Animatrix, includes an animated series of nine short stories that occur at various points in the Matrix timeline. And a collection of comics. The comics might be a hard sell to make a video about cause you would have to read them all to us🤣🤣 And i don't know if you play games. The Animatrix is worth a peek, if you like really weird style anime.

I enjoyed the sequels, much more so for the story vs all the action stuff. Neuromancer is one of my favorite books. I doubt it will ever be adapted to film and I'm not sure I would want anyone to try. The Matrix trilogy fills that void for me.

KZbin has just changed something with their AI scanning because it's not just you, many other reaction channels have been needing to reupload within the last few weeks ... What you can do is look at some editing forums and see if any of the editors have pinpointed the changes KZbin have made and how to get around them

Hello Kamilla! Hope you doing well. After two months I am so glad you contunue this amazing trilogy. Imagine an antivirus program choosed to be a free and became a very dangerous virus which can convert everything to itself including real people who plugs in the computer. Thats why Smith is the most evil character ever for me.

So many people are shitting on Matrix 2 and 3, but Reloaded has some of the most iconic action scenes in history. Revolutions is a step back but still worth watching. But... skip the 4th one. Watching it just made me sad and I felt like my childhood was being disrespected

Unfortunately my computer must be playing up as I can't hear much of what you're saying (which defeats the point of watching), so I'll have to assume you enjoyed it. I hope I'm wrong but I think channels like yours are going to struggle even more to post reactions in the future. One of my posts on my 'Bouncy Baby' channel got blocked for copyright reasons just because the radio in the background was playing a song even though it was barely audible. Good luck though.

There is this game Matrix: Path of Neo where you kind of experience Neo, and this fight at 20 mins against all Smiths, is in it, and you have to win, there is alsop a lot from the movies, Hey, you're a gamer, figure it out.

I remember feeling "exhausted" in the cinema watching Reloaded. It just was too much action... And that's something to say from someone who loves action movies and VFX (this movie was ahead of its time in that sense). Revolutions is even worse for that matter. I rewatched the trilogy a year ago, after decades, and I think I now dislike the sequels even more and appreciate the original one even more than I used to. The first one is a compelling movie with written characters. Not saying Oscar-worthy by any means, but you can tell they took their time making sure they wrote the best script they could. Now, while the frist two sequels bring lots of cool concepts that expand that universe, it is noticeable that they didn't bother that much about the characters themselves. They feel like they don't have a "soul", even though they're entertaining.
