And then he suffered the consequences of his antics & attitude.. He gained wisdom. The Mavs coincidentally was a good place to start over with a reliable organization, & coach in Jason Kidd, & a new superstar to mentor himself in Luka Doncic. Usage rate isn't a measurement for ball hogging, time of possession is the measurement. Usage rate just measures when a possession ends with a certain player from a shot/turnover.
@Levi-lr4vi7 ай бұрын
Can you explain more?
@Cfcfinest7 ай бұрын
@@Levi-lr4vi basically time of possession literally measure how long a person has the ball in their hands. For example Maxey lead 3rd for time of possession average in the playoffs. But Embiid leads the playoffs in usage rate average because at the end of possessions the ball will more than likely be in his hands. But obviously Maxey has the ball in his hands more because he’s the one bringing the ball up and initiating plays etc.
@graham59907 ай бұрын
@@Levi-lr4vi In the NBA, usage rate is the percentage of a team's possessions that a player ends while on the court. It's calculated by adding up the number of field goals attempted, one third of assists, turnovers, and 0.44 times free throws attempted, then dividing that number by the total number of possessions. The result is then multiplied by 100. Usage rate is a key statistic in fantasy basketball because it indicates how much of a role a player has in their team's offense, and how many opportunities they'll have to score. Players with higher usage rates tend to use more possessions and accumulate more fantasy points. Generative AI is experimental. Usage rate is the percentage of his team's possessions that a player ends (via field goal attempts, turnovers and trips to the line) while he's on the floor
@Levi-lr4vi7 ай бұрын
So then someone like MPJ would have a high usage rate, but low time of possession? Because the ball is always going up once he gets it, but he's not playmaking for himself. Jokic does that for him.

The reality is, if Brunson was on the Mavs with that contract, we would be significantly worse. He likely never blossoms into nearly the player he is now being 2nd fiddle to Luka, and while Luka’s defense is much improved this year, a backcourt of him and Brunson would be a major defensive liability. Also we didn’t offer Brunson the $55m/4 extension bc he struggled in the playoffs that year, averaging just 8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists, with 0 steals or blocks. To put this into perspective, the very next season when Brunson was no longer eligible for an extension, he averaged 21.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists.

By adding Lively, PJ, Gafford and getting back a fully healthy Maxi Kleber they finally have a front line that can matchup with the best in the west. Then it was all about Luka and Irving finding a rhythm together. It took most of the season but finally in the last 1/4 of the season they clicked. Suddenly we had lots of open shots and defensive cohesion. The best offense and the best defense in the conference (16-2 down the stretch). Tip your hat to Kidd and Nico. I wish we’d stop the “it’s the Mavs fault they lost Brunson” rhetoric. He was going to the Knicks no matter what that offseason

That OFF SEASON, yes. They could’ve extended him during the season on multiple occasions and did not.

First , if Dallas can find another wing defender or a pure shooter . They will be nasty - next I don’t see Al or Porzingis playing Dallas front court well.

So did that Wolves video you said you were gonna make three times turn into this Mavericks video instead?

1:30 that stat is INCREDIBLE. How tf Lebron do that for double the amount of games as everyone else lmao I’m tired of seeing a new Lebron stat. Lmao When the show has nothing to do with him. Can’t disregard that tho

I 100% agree. 20/20 hindsight Kyrie was definitely right about the world being flat.

IMO jalen brunson’s value isn’t even close to kyrie ESPECIALLY in the playoffs, love JB but as soon as we got kai i was never worried about what brunson would become

Mark Cuban was never the general manager or president of basketball operations. He isn't even the owner anymore. Sold controlling interest middle of last season. Basketball points male sence, but the rest is seriously uninformed

Shai’s usage isn’t that high he just has young teammates who weren’t ready for that moment. Not even it was just a bad matchup. Thunder could’ve won playing their style of basketball efficient forcing TO and getting to rim but they missed multiple open looks and credit to Dallas’s rim protection. The game play was to make Luka and Kyrie not the reason the Mavs won and to make it a role player game out of everyone in the playoffs so far they executed that the best. Great vid

Man if the Celtics win it’s a full ass circle cause when Jason Kidd traded paul pierce and Kevin Garnett it gave them the jayson Tatum and the Jaylen brown picks and if they win then Jason Kidd mistake is biting him in the ass
