She appears with a yellow lightsaber wearing a new set of armor with snake pauldron on her shoulder. This serpent sigil is symbolic of the change that Asajj has gone through from Sith Assassin to independent bounty hunter

It's not a crime, TCW Vos is not the same as Legends Vos. So nothing they can do post-Order 66 will live up to his Legends character.

The problem with Vos is that when you dig into legends. He's really not that good of a person. When Aayla Secura lost her memory for a time she was placed with Vos while he was under cover rooting out some crime ring or another (I think in Legends he was supposed to be a Sentinel when originally created.) aaaaaaaaaaand she fell in love with him, and he let it happen and a relationship form until she regained her memory. He took advantage of her state, and that is one of the single worst things a lone Jedi can do to another. Manipulate and take advantage of another, particularly when knowing that she was a fellow jedi.

@@Meravokas well i’m not too well-versed in legends but it sounds like that was just one writer’s interpretation of quinlan which doesn’t necessarily mean anything. if he’s been written by multiple writers as consistently engaging in amoral behavior then yeah, that’s just part of his character. but if you don’t like one random writer’s version of him and liked his character just about everywhere else, then f that writer! ignore him and move on, don’t let that stop you from enjoying the character. it could’ve easily just been one instance of bad writing so there’s no reason to act like one writer’s word is sacred when it’s not. characters are often inconsistent when treated by multiple writers, especially in star wars

I just realized that Ventress never had Sith eyes. She never truly believed in the ways of The Sith. I think she was so dangerous because she saw The Force as just another tool in her arsenal.

I'm thinking one theory for her survival could be that because she gave her life for another, the force gave her the same life or death choice that Ahsoka was given. Afterward they faked her burial to keep her actual survival a secret. She is now working for the Hidden Path with Quinlan Vos.

I always loved Asajj character. It's so profound and so well built/written (apart how did she came back from the dead, but it's Disney, get used to it...). Really glad we'll be seeing her again. Never thought she was pure evil, but rather a product of her choices and still his, but due to her master trying to kill her because Palp thought they're growing too strong together and the misadventures with the zabrack brothers, plus her story with vos, I guess she now sees things more on her optic and make choices accordingly to her priorities and no more of others - in a way, a grey jedi now (not even a dark jedi would be near a definition of the new Ventress. And ofc she's still badass as ever but not being slave to the dark side. Really nice video. Thanks

The way you've framed it, a collision between Omega and Ventriss was so inevitable even death can't stop it. There's a duality between them that can definitely be explored, whether that turns Star Wars canon into a shattered glass of Elsewords, so be it. When I first saw the trailers, I was very much "wait, wha-?" but the idea of her being present in Bad Batch, whether Dark Disciple gets canon dropped or whatever, in the end was just too compelling, and the snippets of footage were wild.

As someone who didn’t read that book, the last time I saw Ventress was on Corusant when she helped Ahsoka. But she would have been a target for order 66 just like everyone else. The only advantage she has is that she spent years fighting clones, she probably has more experience than anyone.

no she wouldn’t have. order 66 only targeted the jedi, of which she was not. as far as palpatine was concerned, the nightsisters had been taken care of and were no longer a threat so as long as ventress laid low for a bit right after the clone war there’s no reason to assume she would’ve been on the empire’s radar.

That Bounty episode is one of my favourites, sealed Ventress's place in my little fan heart. And because it's just a straightforward episode, it's a nice intro for those who haven't seen the Clone Wars and don't want to get bogged down in too much backstory.

I'm thinking it's a simple retcon. Maybe it'll be Cobb Vanth's story from "Aftermath" to "The Mandalorian." Simply change the end and have Vos make the sacrifice. Not saying it's perfect, just the easiest explanation.

I feel like even if Ventress hadn't lost her Master, given her natural skills and abilities, and basically secret training at an age older than even Anikin. She'd have made an invaluable Sentinel. The only Jedi in the order at the time that were like those of old. Those out in the galaxy, understanding the blurred lines and getting their hands dirty to keep people safe. Strength of force (Action) versus diplomacy by any means before use of force is applied. The code was important, but acting on the will of the living force and the betterment of lives around them was the ultimate mission for them. Not the strictures and dogma. Which is why in the late period of the Jedi (Second half of the High republic I'd say, if we want to use a canon time period.) sentinels were seen more as outcasts and at risk of falling to the dark side. And it's true that in peace times Sentinels were usually chosen from the more... "Amoral", A type personalities or loner types because they could survive and do the duty that the order as a whole could not. The dark and light had no hard boundary for them in their own mentality. One could argue that many tales of the Jedi that floated about the galaxy were not from the primary order outside the inner core, but of Sentinels.

The reason the Sith are the way they are is because they use the Dark Side of the force. KOTOR was freaking amazing, but the way it described the Force and alignment isn't how George Lucas explained it. According to George, serving the Light Side means maintaining balance, while using the Dark Side leads to more imbalance. I believe he described using the Dark Side like an addictive drug, you can't use both the Light Side and Dark Side because the Darkness will inevitably drag you further and further out of balance each time you use it.

different star wars media have have showcased various interpretations of the force. i kinda just like to see it as there being no one right answer but rather it being a matter of perspective. different in-universe factions have different views of the force so the jedi might consider it impossible to use the dark side without being corrupted by it but other 3rd parties that aren’t jedi or sith might disagree. going by that subjective in-universe approach to it makes it a lot easier for me to reconcile the different ways the force is treated in star wars media

It's hard to say that Jedi shouldn't be involved in war because they are peace keepers. If you fight to stop an enemy from destroying a small village, you're a peacekeeper but if you fight to stop them from destroying a planet, it's a war. I hope the whole thing isn't some sort of flashback. If the water of the pool, when it turned green (when she was placed there by Vos and Kenobi) resurrected her, there is so much they could do with her new lease on life. She's just too cool of a character (and a strong female character, which Disney favors so much) that I think they should do a series about her as a Bounty Hunter. Maybe looking for Vos while he is helping hide Jedi as part of 'The Path" as was mentioned in Kenobi.

She lost her red sabers to Barris Offie in the Lost Jedi arc. She bought a saber off the black market. In the book, it was a yellow, double bladed staff like the temple guards use.

Not possible. In Disney canon, a saber can only be red if the crystal is bled. And once it's been bled, it cannot be turned any other color except white, which requires purifying it with extremely strong light-side energy. And given that yellow blades typically represent Sentinel-class Jedi (who are distinguished by their specialty in practical abilities/skills), I'd say yellow suits Ventress perfectly.

You know I heard this guy say the Jedi were hypocrites for going to war. This tells me he himself has never served. When war is all around you, can a good person of conscience stand by while others die to appease one's conscience. While others are dying all around them? Now the Jedi had some issues for sure. But idealism fails in the face of devastation. How easy it is to say they should not have gone to war or that someone should not go. Think of what the world would look like if we did that. You would be speaking German. You could not appease the Separatist, we did that with Germany and look what we got . Yoda said it best, it was the way in which they fought that was there down fall.
