The thumbnail showing a smiling face with the caption 'We are all going to die' made me lol. 🤣 I have gotten into keeping a list lately of books that channels are raving about and who mentioned them so I can give credit where credit is due. I understand people not liking to share their age. My problem is keeping track of how old I am. ;p This was a fun tag! I will have to add it to my list of tags to do. :)

Hahah, I'm so glad you said that about the thumbnail because after I uploaded it, I was afraid it looked superrrr creepy with me smiling like that! I actually lost 4 subscribers today. Yikes! As for keeping track of your age, I had to laugh. I spent most of year 36 thinking I was 37, so it was almost like I wasted it! xD I hope you end up doing the tag, I would love to hear your answers!

This was a very weird tag, I loved your responses. Love Narnia! 😀 When I go I wanna Wake, an Irish celebration,. a party, with music and celebration at my passing. I want people to get smashed and wasted to 70s and 80s music. Then I will be content.

I agree, Cliff, very weird to talk about death in relation to books. I think it's good to have the discussion. I can barely get my husband to talk about it at all, it makes him super uncomfortable as I know many people avoid even thinking about it. I love your wishes for a "life celebration". That is definitely the way to go. :)

Amazing tag and video!! I can see clearly how your occupation as a nurse would give you that great amount of gratitude. That being said, I could not imagine myself in your position at all. I’m not squeamish about crazy injuries or blood but loss of life gets to me. As with Jennifer’s Channel, I probably read two of her recommended American Revolution books and loved them, but I can’t seem to reread them now, even though I want to. It feels like (and I hope this makes sense) that I lost the friend who gave me those books even though I went out to pick them up on my own. Strange how death doesn’t have to be close for us to feel it.
@bookstalgic5 ай бұрын
Thanks, Adam! Yeah, I definitely think being a nurse has changed my entire outlook on life. I am a totally different person than I was in my 20s. I'm honestly much better at loss of life than the emergencies though! I know what you mean though. I know what you mean about still being affected by the loss of someone we aren't "close" to. Losing Jennifer on Booktube made me so sad. I was surprised how affected I was by someone I had never met. I'm so glad her family has kept her channel up. It's so nice to watch her old videos and feel like we can still "visit" with her. :)
@Adam_Dupree5 ай бұрын
@@bookstalgic I am in the same way very glad. Her channel being kept up may still spark many readers to try many different genres. I am sure I’ll revisit and visit those one day. But like yourself I was very saddened by the news, still sad about it. But i’m glad we got the news from the family and weren’t left to speculate about her absence. That’s honestly very kind and considerate considering we are all ‘virtual’ friends.

Hello, Farrah! The topic of death always intrigues me. Your video made me think of rock star Corey Taylor. He goes ghost hunting and all that stuff. He had a theory about ghosts. Since energy cannot be created or destroyed, maybe there's no ghosts. It's just the recycled energy of someone who once was. 😮 As for dark humor, I'm your guy 😂. I'm gonna have a magician at my funeral. He'll put a clothe over the coffin and POOF! I'm gone 😊

Thank you so much for doing my little tag. Some very inspiring answers. I'll definitely read the book written by the neuroscientist about his near-death- experience. I still have difficulties in reconciling my science-based way of thinking with my religious beliefs / spiritual needs ☺️. Best regards from Germany, - David

Thanks David, it was a very interesting tag! I hope you enjoy the book if you read it. Death is a very interesting topic and I agree, if you have strong religious beliefs, it can be a challenge to hear about near death experiences that may seem different from what we are taught to expect. I always hear the same thing, though, that they all experience an overwhelming and impossible to describe feeling of unconditional love. :)

There will always be greater tragedies than death and one's illness. Insofar as I care I hope only to acknowledge the fact of my mind and its abilities. Anything else? Perhaps not... but I do tend toward the thought of death more than what I should. And I fear it. I fear it more than anything.
@bookstalgic5 ай бұрын
I'm very sorry you have so much fear regarding this topic. It's hard to say if we are naturally fearful of it, or if we learn to be afraid. I try to remind myself that it's a very natural process and all living creatures will experience it as many have before us and many will after us. The best we can do is to be the present moment and try to enjoy the little things each day if we can.

@@bookstalgic Always so kind. And I appreciate that. I think when death does come for me, I will be ready; which, this is all that matters in my life. That I prepare for death - in these cases, that's how I consider myself - every thought, every feeling in service to death. That's a philosopher's lock and key. He knows this inevitability in all its forms, ancestral and otherwise. I will do the same. More of a melancholic optimist, lol. Fair game by the end of it; and all those who live with themselves... Always appreciated.
