To be honest, I wonder if the reason why he was like "This man has to die" was just that more selfish reason of "your face reminds me of when I wasted my one day off on that awful movie" rather than something more profound. I believe the actor (the character) mentioned something about how fun the shoot was, even though it was so bad, right? At least, I think that's how it went.
@moviemoth41924 ай бұрын
37:57 i love the moment Margot slaps Tyler bc that was Anya Taylor joys idea. She said she was sick of seeing rage in women as a single tear drop down the cheek and she would slap him. It’s such a real moment and shows how important it can be to allow actors to have some say in what their character does.
@DianaWoods-n7r4 ай бұрын
That slap was real! I loved it! It felt like how I would have responded.
@lillustpotion3 ай бұрын
I think a slap is actually still catering to the male gaze. Yes it’s not a single tear but it’s not realistic in the slightest. A 98lb beautiful girl in lingerie crawls over the table to slap the annoying guy relatively tamely across the face. Like cmon 🙄 i know Miss ATJ has lived a very privileged life but irl every single woman I know would have grabbed the nearest sharp object and gone right for his chest without a milliseconds hesitation.

"It feels very militaristic" "it feels like a cult" that's by design. High-level kitchens operate under the French brigade system, with hierarchy and well-defined roles. The French brigade was created by Auguste Escoffier, he saw that kitchens were always inevitably a mess and wanted to change that, so he applied his military experience to create this system. There's kitchen lingo, there's a code of conduct, looking from the outside it's a mess, but it makes sense to the crew. This movie may not be perfectly accurate but does capture a lot of what it's like to be in the industry
