I am a person thats pro being enviroment friendly, even though i agree electric cars are super lame and the industry has been shifting towards even worse paths than just electrification, but i know its not just the cars that are the problem, in fact the power plants are a bigger offender, but not only that, its true that its impossoble to really have 0 enviroment impact unless we go back to using sticks and stones, but we can take the paths that have smaller impacts which can also be fixed. Electric cars pose the enviromental problem of the disposal of used batteries and the significant increase in the mining for their materials, its trading air pollution for land and soil pollution. But there are easier ways to combat those really, but they should have invested heavier on how to combat those rather than to sped up the manufacturing and selling of EVs.

I think it's a risky idea. The GT43 has the potential to bring in people who just like the shape of the car, and either aren't interested in what's underneath or would like lower running costs. My main concern is that it may not be enough engine for that platform, and the car will feel bogged down or underpowered. With lower-grip tires and softened dampers it could work well

Tbf entire amgs lineup has received mentally insaine prices. Even the GT63 topdog of GT costs almost 300grand as soon as you put any options on it, and noone in their right mind is paying 300grand for an amg.

Other manufacturers are not as cheap as merc that they would put proper engine in a proper car, rather than merc only capable of putting 4 bangers in literally everything.

I really thought Mercedes were being smart until I heard the estimated price. If Mercedes does price it high like a real AMG then they may have lost out on a huge amount of new customers. Look at the challenger and charger (RIP) Dodge always offered the v6 as a relatively cheap starter car and many people who bought those later went and upgraded to an R/T then a Scat Pack then a hellcat as they grow older and richer ultimately creating life long Mopar fans that will buy anything interesting that they release (not electric though😂). If you start people off with a cheap version of a car that still has the same basic feel as the top of the line version people will become loyal and want to upgrade more.

The price is not true. In the USA and Canada, if the price of a car is 100K pound, then that car is 50K US dollar and 55K CAD dollar. Cars are always 1/2 the price vs the UK

AMG KNOWS THIS NOW, they said no one bought it "sales at all time low" but they still continue to put this in other cars. Somethings definitely wrong... it just doesn't make logical sense.

i agree with this 4cylinder variant being questionable, however this is the 43 variant, the lowest trim of this car. But you guys have to understand that most manufacturers now have to make downsized engines in their division especially manufacturers with huge v8s in their division across many cars. this is the way for manufacturers to be allowed to carry on making their 4.0 V8. Let’s not forget that there is literally a 55/63 variant of this 2024 AMG GT with a 4.0 Biturbo v8 making 585HP. Great video though Theo!

I guess at this point buyers are just paying for the amg badge, the cars don't actually cost that much. That said what are these cars other than normal cars with the amg badge slapped on them? 4 cylinder and electric vehicles just don't feel like anything so nobody likes them, I can see the future before my eyes where rich people pay seven digits just to buy a non 4 cylinder combustion oldtimer to actually enjoy driving But even after all of that, the 4 cylinder variants are still so much better than purely electric cars. Think about it, why does everyone hate the downsized versions? Because the engines are the same ones used in economy cars so it makes them seem like they are just these cars engines in different bodies. However electric cars all use motors connected to a battery and are completely silent with not even a gearbox to distinguish them. They are what people hate about downsized cars but 10 times worse

For me cylinder count doesnt matter take RallyCross engines as example or the V6 ecoboost Ford GT. I also like the core idea of the new AMG C63 with the small engine but the delivery is lackluster. I wished for a lightweight car with some electric torque fill and vectoring, but no. And yes, the price is a joke for the A45 and the AMG GT 4 cylinder.

I'm not against electrification. As long as it's restricted to higher production cars like econoboxes suvs etc. But for trucks sport cars supercars and the lower volume productions series. Those may pollute more per unit. Multiply it by the number of cars on the road then they are meaningless when it comes to environmental damage.
