The first thing I learned about Fiestar was that they had completely financed their own comeback. That alone guaranteed my support and respect despite the fact that I knew nothing of their background. Thanks for filling in some of the blank spaces. So much to learn and so little time to watch MVs! Also...Do you think they licenced the Fiestar name just for the 'you're pitiful' comeback? That would mean that they would have to do the same for each and every track, no?

Tbh it sounds like a combination of personal, cultural and circumstantial issues. She comes across as somewhat immature in the livestream, but you can also tell that she's genuinely hurt by her experience in the group. I imagine everyone was struggling, but the American/Confucian divide in social norms led to a mutual frustration between her and the others. It bears some similarities to the Jay Park/2pm debacle and potentially the ongoing Eddie/n.ssign issue. There's obviously much much more to all of these issues, but I imagine that with the unlucky combination of the wrong people and circumstances, culture can become an insurmountable wall.

At this point, I think it's difficult to tell if Cheska's stories are 100% accurate, or else exaggerated and told from her jaded POV. I'm sure that Cheska herself believed the things she said, so she's not lying from her perspective, but I also get the feeling that misunderstandings and the pressures they were dealing with contributed a lot to how they were treating her. I just don't think that they hated and bullied her. If so then why would they have bother talking to her after she left, or else ask for help when they could have asked someone else. Plus the girls themselves seem to contrast these stories by their actions, for instance, still getting along with each other and partnering for a comeback. I just think that back then Cheska was in a bad mood given the situation she was in, was combative because of it, and just didn't get along with the others because they weren't on the same page. Of course all of this is speculation, but I do think actions speak louder than words.
@NinjaKittkattАй бұрын
I'm sure Cheska had her reasons for why she said those things, and I don't doubt that the behavior of idols can potentially be very different behind closed doors, but the way she went about "exposing" idols definitely felt malicious. Compare it to the scandals of T-ara, AOA, and now Blackswan. The one who is the most enthusiastic to blame others is the one we should be most wary of. I realize this suggests Cheska was the bully all along, but that's not what I mean. I think Cheska has a lot of unresolved internal conflicts that caused her to interpret social interactions in a skewed way and seemed to lack the maturity to reflect upon her own words and behaviors. Her reaction to the backlash only showed she still hasn't taken the time to reflect internally.
@SpudhutCXrepАй бұрын
@@NinjaKittkatti think Cheska showed herself to be a mean spirited person, reminds me of Minah, I’m not saying either of them lied, in fact, i believe they both said what they thought to be the truth but are not the most reliable, depression does sadly distort perception which, to me, it sounds like cheska had depresion since she said she was suicidal. But shit-talking idols that have nothing to do with her and her short-lived career as a nugu was the first red flag, the second red flag is that she is extremely uncharitable towards her fellow members especially Fei, she basically aired the story of how she was sexualized and forced to do surgeries and still used it against her. Fei’s abuse story is hers to tell even if it was told to defend her but it wasn’t. It’s sad all around because I would understand if the rumors had been revealed by 3rd parties like in the case of April and T-ara where none of the alleged victims made the first statement (Although they both eventually acknowledged the rumors and leaned into it). But Cheska put herself in the spotlight and i just don’t think she realized her story would be put under scrutiny. I hope she has thought about it some more and hopefully finds closure.

idk Cheska's situation sounds more like a cultural clash of sorts, the kpop industry is HARSH and at first most idols just see it as what it is, a job. you aren't friends with everyone at work even less immediately. she sounds pretty annoying and messy too like what's the need to name drop people and bodyshame former bandmates? she should've stayed in her lane talking about her past and experiences and not allegations of other idols being this or that or hating each other

I do vividly remember their company trying all their best to promote this group and the girls when they were newer, I will say that over time the effort to promote this group significantly stagnated in-between each release. It's so sad, because they could've indeed been something big, like Sistar's level maybe. I will say not all of their music was for me, so I couldn't ult them per se. I’m sure cheska really does feel like that’s what happened from her perspective while being in the group, but in reality I think they were all just young adults who didn’t really click or get along like they had hoped to, all while being in a cutthroat industry that pits them against each other at every turn and that them having a fairly stressful experience with being an idol in general had them all lashing out at each other

To be honest, I think you're being a bit too lenient on Chieska in the comments. If what you're saying is true, then I really can't see alot of it as the truth. She continuously trashed other people on her stream but somehow, everywhere she went, she was trashed? I don't doubt the fact that a lot of idols are rude/ignorant behind cameras but it doesn't seem as a coincidence that everybody was ganging up on her everywhere she went. Was it because what they did to her or did she do something to them first? On top of that, she had no proof whatsoever of what she said. Since after the T-ara, AoA and April's bullying cases, people are becoming extremely wary of the victim. It doesn't help that nobody came to her aid like in the S# ARP situation. It doesn't help that she talked about really famous K-pop stars _by name._ Had she been in Korea when she said that, she would've gotten sued and had all of her money taken. Heck, one RM member nearly filed a defamation lawsuit against someone in USA all the way from Korea. A lot of it just seems to come off as someone who, at best, someone who had been misjudged/abused throughout her whole career and wanted to talk about her own experiencess but doesn't seem to be aware of her own actions and, at worst, a manipulative liar who has no evidence and was hoping to tarnish other people's reputation but ended up backfiring on her.

She was just answering questions that she was asked on stream, like a Q&A session. That's completely normal for Twitch streamers. She also spoke very positively of IU, Hello Venus' Lime, Sistar's Soyou, Twice, Block B, F(x), and more throughout the livestream. She's no longer a celebrity and doesn't need to censor herself as such. As someone who saw the VOD live, people just got offended when she spoke her truth about their favorite idols and used it to send her nasty comments. I'm talking about telling her to k*ll herself and such. There's always 2 sides of the story, sure, but she had 0 incentive to lie about anything that she said. Cheska isn't active anymore and seems to have 0 ties to the kpop industry outside of her boyfriend, Geeks. She simply just spoke about her experiences and answered questions as they came. Kpop is an extremely competitive environment and I'm sure it brought out the worst in everyone, but the way she describes bullying is the same as workplace bullying in a professional environment. There's been comments about Hyolyn's (who I do still love as an idol) behavior off-camera for a while, and SNSD not getting along makes sense given how they fired Jessica, who was probably the second most popular SNSD member. There had been rumors of SNSD not getting along way before Jessica was ejected from the group. She was in Korea when she did the livestream. I'm not sure what made you think that she wasn't. Plenty of people in America have the same to say about the entertainment/music industry here too. That's just how it is, people that are narcissistic enough to want to be famous and have their song/face everywhere tend to be assholes. But people should also have the right so speak up about it. Of course she doesn't have video recordings of running into idols in the bathroom, that's ridiculous LOL. Just like how crime victims don't always have evidence, doesn't meant that it DIDN'T happen. Whether you believe Cheska/victims is up to you as a person. I'm sick of people trying to act like she booted up her stream just to hate on kpop idols. She had like 50 viewers (considerably low for Twitch) and was just answering questions as they came, whether they were positive, negative, or not even about kpop.

April's case? Hyunjoo was never in the wrong the police was on her side till the very end, all charges against her were dropped there was literally nothing they could use against her. For AoA's case, Jimin wasn't completely innocent and she still did the things she was accused cor but Mina wasn't the perfect victim everyone wanted her to be, she is obviously mentally ill and distraught and people didn't like that so they immediately painted her a liar.
@POP-nm1ixАй бұрын
@@CherrieJellyBeaniePolice reinvestigation showed that they couldn't concluded that it was difficult to conclude there's bullying between members. On top of that, Hyunjoo's claims and her brothers claims have been shown to have a lot of inconsistencies that when people asked her to clarify, she started deleting comments and blocked her Insta. The namuwiki of April goes more into depth. There's a reason why Naeun is welcomed back onto acting whereas Hyunjoo is nowhere to be seen. As for Mina, well, we have plenty of evidence that she told countless lying about everything she had said. From lying about not having time to see her father on her deathbed, to lying about Jimin's father special treatment, to lying about Jimin giving her c3rvical c@ncer, to lying about Jimin loudly sleeping with another man causing her to sleep in the practice room but there never being evidence that they're not even in the same dorm. Everglow-up touches on every single one of them. Along with Ploopy's video. Does that mean that it's evidence that Jimin didn't bully her for 10 years? No. But does that mean that Mina's claims can't be taken seriously? Yes. But she'll do? She'll brag about harrasing a nurse, getting with a man knowing he has a gf, selling fake c0v1d medicine. Yeah, no. I'm not trusting her. Ever.

I watched Fiestar from their debut. It was so frustrating seeing their potential being wasted. Their company kept putting them on these lame shows to try and boost them but even I got bored. It became obvious the girls were exhausted, and even depressed. Their company should have put more effort into getting them a hit song, not a stupid show. When the comebacks are a flop you have to wonder how they chose to roll their dice on the songs they released. Was that really the best they could find? Finally when Yezi was on Unpretty Rapstar she was getting the attention she deserved but then what? Anticlimactic. At least she had Crazy Dog, and Cider. Then fizzle. 😩 They had powerhouse vocals that never got the attention they deserved. I was a big fan of Cheska early on. She had great energy, and could speak English. One thing that these K-pop groups all have in common I believe it's just total mismanagement by the companies. There needs to be even more awareness of bullying in Korea add harsher penalties such as maybe fines from the company. That's just an idea I don't know what the correct answer would be here. But I really think that these K-Pop Stars would hire personal agents or maybe a lawyer to represent them at all times that some of the stuff could be taken care of. I think if the fans are truly fans that they would hold the agencies responsible. But the question is how do you do that if you boycott the company then you hurt the artist that may not have been guilty of anything. Once again the people in charge or have the power to make decisions where do they find these corrupt individuals? There are some groups that get treated with dignity and are treated very well but there are other groups that debuted that were a good group and had great singers and dancers and plenty of visuals but their companies gave up on them because of revenue wasn't coming in immediately perfect example look at nine muses these girls were very talented and cast away or discarded by the management of their agency! And while the agency seems to make money regardless the singers make damn near nothing I think fiestar set a best when they said the company would give them pocket money

Your claim that Fiestar had a "dedicated following" isn't entirely true. Both "Black Label" and "A Delicate Sense" sold barely 3,000 copies. I love the group, but I worry about them coming back with an old song that didn't do that well to begin with. On that note, if you claim to "stan" a group, then for the love of God, BUY THEIR ALBUMS. If you don't own a single album from a group you claim to support and they disband because of low sales, you have ZERO right to complain.

@@all-kulturei know someone made a twitter thread years ago where they provided a play-by-play of the entire stream and basically summarized everything cheska said. i may have screenshots of it still on my old ipad but i would have to go back and check first to tell you for sure if i have the entire thing. i think i might also have a clip on there of her talking about hyolyn allegedly being rude to her when she was going to the bathroom and they happened to be there at the same time. if someone can reply to this and give me a reminder to come back i’ll look and see if i have them when im done working

i think a couple years ago when the issue first broke jei and yezi responded but that was really all they did to address cheska’s accusations

I do think kpop fans take plastic surgery to lenient. Especially when they say things like ‘they’re not hurting anyone by it, let them get plastic surgery if they want’. This may be true unless they go on to have children. If they get plastic surgery whilst knowing or wanting children in the future then they should be called out for it. Those children are not going to inherit your plastic surgery nose, they’ll inherit your actual nose. What about when they see old photos of you and question why mommy/daddy used to have a noss like them but why they dont anymore? They’ll find out that their parents did not like that nose and that will cause the child to be insecure and develop body dysmorphia and other issues. Basically what i’m getting at is that people who have plastic surgery should be people that don’t want kids.
