Bajan here. I love learning more and more about my culture's hsitory. Our national heros contain some mixed people are recognised as people who help break down this systems. Please continue exploring the Caribbean and its differences to the USA pit as the education and social climate for me growing up in Barbados allowed me to not obsess about my "race", to embrace being Bajan which encourages to strive for greatness in whatevwr i chose to do. The PIT i saw in America was blatant the moment i visited America and interacted with "black" Americans and saw the stark differences and how deep they are in the PIT compared to others from Barbados, its how i came to your videos, exploring why black Americans seems so lost in the past that coming together..i called "crabs in a barrel", probably the worst ive ever seen. Please continue your videos!

You're a proud Bajan...living in America yet concerned with Blk Americans 🤔 Interesting...
@CaribbeanGlow2 ай бұрын
@@TheOracle4444 what happens in America eventually spills into the Caribbean and the rest of the Diaspora. Just because I'm Bajan I'm not allowed to educate myself about other countries and cultures around the world? How deep in the pit are you? Edit; I actually worry about the ones in the pit, whether it's Bajans who lost their way, Africans who are in the pit or BAs who are crying from the bottom of the dark pit. We have all been affected by this white/black nonsense, if you think being Bajan to you, somehow is a reason not to have some sort of empathy for the 'black' Ameicans who are in the pit, it really just suggest you are really deep in the pit.

Your view of Black Americans is typical among West Indians. The belief that we are more dysfunctional than others from the diaspora.

No disrespect but you making these complex ideas so simple while extensively quoting actual references is so hot bro. It’s like you were pouring gasoline on my brain, and it’s not too biased so i can actually integrate 100% of what you’re saying while thinking on my own because all of our perspectives are different for example Im West African born but my ancestry is free American slaves from the US and afro Brazilian blood too. I’ve been binge listening your shit and ordering your books, by the way you should do affiliate links and get your money because you’re a powerful seller. Keep doing your thing, you’re so needed and I’m so glad I’ve found your channel now because my mind is clear enough to actually LISTEN to what you’re saying. I wish i could share this channel everywhere but people ain’t ready…. BUT IT’S STILL TIME.

As diabolical as this is, it isn’t unique. These were the tactics employed by the Spaniards and Portuguese from the outset of their colonisation on the Americas. These caste systems still exist to this day.

Thank you Sir. I’m currently working on a project-Research Center for Indigenous & Coloured Persons (I may change the name later.) and this information is very useful. Also when you covered the Military Land it reminded me of how much of the land was granted to whites in the south after the Civil War both to the Union and Confederate sides. And that is the reason why so much of the land is still owned by their descendants so many generations later. And even the land that was granted to blacks many of it was taken by whites during the Jim Crow era. Land is THE currency and key to wealth and how they used the Military Land was similar to here in the states.

I find the history of my own nation interesting to say the least. Its called Guyana 6 races all used against one another. The colonialist where calculative bunch. Especially the British who took over after the Dutch. Now the descendants are fooled into believing they truly have a say in who runs the show whole time they do not and never will.

Close... Kinda weird that you use a book written by some American to "explain" how it was in the West Indies. Perhaps you should read some of the works from local historians like Ronald Hughes or my cousin Sir Hilary Beckles

First time watching a compilation of your content. I’m trying not to sound mean, but constructive. Regarding societal history (of all people), you really should consider putting all of this hive-mind foolishness away, you’re wasting your time. Instead, dedicate your time studying the likes of Thomas Sowell, Ben Carson, Walter E. Williams, Virgil Walker, and Vince Everett Ellison. Peace.
