Fiery Emancipation would have tripled the damage Ian would deal with Spell Shock to himself, thus taking 6 damage from it instead of 2, meaning he would be at 8 before the drain effects, leaving him at only 2 life at the end.

I think it’s criminal to not bring up the coolest marchesa deck I’ve ever seen. It would piss of my play group but a marchesa deck that permanently steals things is amazing!!!

Im seeinng this video 3weeks late but uhh… 12:18 thats not how that shouldve worked, replacement effects are ordered by the players its affecting, so it should been 6, 3 times in a row and not 12, 3 times in a row 😅 or is there another permanent on the field here thats relevent to the spell, other than the fiery emancipation and solphim, mayhem dominus?

I would've choas warped the dissipation field instead. Playing burn you can kill the life gain player easily if you have what you need

616.1 also applies to the fiery emancipation + solphim so it should've been 18 damage, not 36

It doesn't matter the order in that case. If you either double then triple is the same as triple then double. So each "2 damage for each opponent" would be 12 damage each chosen.

Fiery Emancipation is a symmetrical effect. It should have tripled the spell shock damage to Ian when he cast Fiery Confluence. (edit - thanks for those people who caught what I did not, that it is Solphim not Ojer)

It's Solphim, not Ojer, so nothing cares about "greater than its power".

I think you got Solphim mixed up with Ojer Axonil. Solphim just doubles non combat damage, while Ojer cares about his power.

This is Solphim, not Ojer Axonil. Solphim will double the damage, which stacks with Fiery Emancipation's multiplier, so the damage will be multiplied by 6 no matter how each player chooses to apply the effects.

2x2x3=12, 2x3x2=12 The order wouldn't matter in this case.
