Nice little system but I would personally opt for an AMD based mini pc with 780M or 7600M XT iGPU solely because they are miles ahead in terms of performance

@@rugby187gaming Completely surprised me tbh. You expect them to under perform because of the “mobile” style CPUs and as the normal 12900k competes in games with the 5800X3D I thought this would lag behind but they did some magic somewhere.

Looks like a good system. Just something I noticed, I think your Ratchet and Clank, as well as Forbidden West benchmarks for 4K are incorrect. On the Mini PC it more than likely either had FSR upscaling or FSR Frame Gen enabled. You lost almost no performance going from 1440p to 4K in Ratchet and Clank. At 4K you are also going to be fully GPU bound with a 6700XT so there would be almost no difference between a 5800X3D and 12900H, but here the 12900H is beating it by 50%. Something is definitely off with those results.

Seems odd but the results are correct. Everything is run Native and re-run again to validate. Benching takes ages, it's just how these games behave on these systems.

They should put the psu outside in a brick, and add a 3rd m.2 drive slot. Also the gpu should be facing out, in this orientation its blocked airflow to the fans. And the whole thing needs a dust cage to surround the gpu cause cleaning dust filters is easier.

Just bought one of these. I am running it with a 7900GRE. So far, so good other than the USB ports next to the ethernet ports and the front one drop connections as if they are underpowered somehow.

You should be more specific when saying USB3 and USB C ports. For eexample: USB C might be USB2, USB3, USB4 or Thunderbolt 5, 4 or 3. USB C or A but which speed? USB C but capable sending 4K or 8K video? 60Hz or 120Hz?

Excellent idea from Beelink, however they should make docking station as much as screwless as possible to appeal users who take mini PC on the go. This docking station setup can become really popular in the future if done right with some multi GPU features for example from AMD.

@@pilotlight2925 It’s the measurement of average FPS within the lowest 1%. If it’s low then you will get a lot of stuttering in the game, even if the average FPS is quite high. Higher the 1% low the smoother the experience will be.

i dont seen the reason to use a powerful gpu the dock has 8x pcie lans one but its better than the circus of x4 lanes of oculink and thunderbolt i hope the new design has the network card and nvme through usb 3 or 4 protocol and pcie is x16 with massive gpu size support and 90 degrees PSU cables

What's the best way to add an external GPU to the Minisforum MS-01? The Gen4 M.2 slot is already used by the SSD, so I am hoping to use the PCIe Gen4 slot. How about the Beelink EX dock with a PCIe Gen4 extender cable to my Minisforum MS-01. Can it work?

You have 600w dedicated to the GPU. They say it can support up to an RTX 4090 with the right adaptors although 3 slot cards won't fit so would have to be a smaller version.

@@TechLabUK theres adapters and cables for pcie ive seen online female to female i think that would work with this dock for use on desktops that dont have room for grafficards if it works this would be a great alternative for older machices and those that cant fit big cards in them

I should have said in the video. The PCIe connection to the dock is a PCIe Gen 4 x8.

So, I have one of these, it is a Ryzen 7000 version, and it came with DDR5 5600, BUT... as far as I can find, even from BeeLink support, there is no way to turn on XMP, at all, it just doesn't exist. Anyone know how?

Strangely enough this one also came with DDR5 5600 but unsure how to get it to use it like you. Maybe they can't which would be why they only advertise it as a 4800 but I will take a look into it.

Hello, thank you for trusting and choosing our product! The reason for this issue is that none of our products support overclocking, which is why XMP cannot turn on. Additionally, the AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors only support memory frequencies up to 4800MHz. Although we have installed 5600MHz memory, the processor does not support running at this higher frequency🙂
