You're a good mother/father. I have a special needs, I'm autistic, and for a long time it was really hard for me to function around bigger animals. I learned last year that small animals are really comforting for a lot of special needs children. I have 2 rats, and 2 mini rexes.

Greetings from Florida! I rescued a wild Eastern Cottontail from my back yard three years ago, and named her Catcher. After watching her grow and thrive with my five parrots, I decided she needed a rabbit buddy. When I saw a young, precocious bunny binkying in her tiny pen in a pet store, I knew she was the one. At first, I thought she was a Gold English Spot Rabbit, but after more research, I realized she was a mini Rex. WHAT a personality! As smart as my parrots, and that is something (they are very smart). The wild Cottontail, Catcher (her name) is also very bright, but Cleopatra regularly outsmarts her. I love them both, but the mini Rex has an astonishingly brilliant, exuberant, loving personality. She is a treasure!

Watching rabbit showmanship has a similar effect as watching Bob Ross painting. We raised and bred many rabbits when I was in my teens and we jokingly referred to them as "bread loaves". So funny to see rabbits become cute and furry "bunny balls".

They don't produce much dander which causes allergies so they are pretty hypoallergenic
