Just want to add that the chemical that was tested on animals is called glycerin. If you've ever used lotion, soap, eaten ice cream (even the organic ones, because glycerin is organic) or basically all make-up products then you've used/eaten glycerin. The same chemical Deborah berated this woman for including in her product, Deborah also uses in her own products that she sells, and yes, if she buys the glycerin from China then it was tested on animals (and I guarantee she buys it from China because they produce the cheapest). Electricity was first tested on animals, should we not use it because of that? A majority of her "shtick" on this show is to misconstrue or completely misread/misinterpret basic chemical knowledge. There is a reason Deborah goes straight for the MSDS sheets of products, and its because you have to be trained to read them properly and if not, you can make up basically any inflammatory statement you want about any product.

@@ellenkarlsson9490 I'm just trying to point out that Deborah framed this thing incorrectly. The X-grey lady never tested her product on an animal. She bought glycerin from a company that was legally required to test it on animals. Again, if you buy any chemical from China, as many (most) small companies do, then you bought a product that was tested on an animal.

@carpii5 жыл бұрын
@@Mashburn007 Yes but when asked how she can prove it works, she mostly just explained what the chemical agent is believed to do. She isnt a chemist, and so when she says she improved it by 6 times, she most likely means it was simply concentrated. Besides, she has no exclusivity on the substance, so in the unlikely event it is effective, there's nothing stopping L'Oreal licensing the same substance from the manufacturer, improving it in their labs (no doubt with much more resources than she had access to), and then any market share she does build is simply eliminated

The only way we can have products that aren't tested on animals is if the ingredients were at some point tested on animals or humans. Just because the products you use don't test on animals themselves, that doesn't mean the ingredients weren't at some point. They're just passing the blame on to someone else. We're all to blame. We all use things that are only possible because animals have suffered at some point.

Dominic Easton It was quite telling that at the end the dragons' primary concern was that they had not passed up the chance to be billionaires. Even Deborah herself was more concerned with not being proven wrong. Had she been, I wouldn't be surprised if she engaged a team of evil lab technicians herself to do unspeakable things to rodents in an attempt to overturn the findings. I wonder how much research she does to ensure that the cosmetics she wears (and other products that she uses) are only from companies that do not engage in such activities. To be fair, most of us do not want products to be tested on animals and few of us do the research to check. But I do find Deborah's outrage a tad faux all the same. She could have expressed her concern without the pretence.
