We've read the book "Blue" by Joyce Moyer Hostetter in our 4th grade classes for years. I ran across this today looking for some online resources, since we are doing remote learning right now with the Covid-19 pandemic. My students have loved reading it and comparing it to what is going on in our world today. This video will be a great resource for me to share with them about The Miracle of Hickory. Thank you so much for sharing!

Vicky Cornett I read this at Blackburn and I am 23 now. I bought this and all the sequels and love seeing the comparisons to nowadays. Not only does it shed light on our pandemic it also show the racial separation that doesn’t make sense. Everyone is human and have to fight the same things. People NEED to put themselves in each other’s shoes and think about what they see and experience compared to you. So happy this book is still in regulation and being used.

I've watched this video several times before and shown it to my fourth graders as we study North Carolina history. I've enjoyed it every time, but it has an even greater impact now with the coronavirus pandemic. I pray that people much like these will find the strength and wisdom to create another miracle.
