Stoked you guys made but I’m so sorry I didn’t stress the border crossing more in our call. We always exchange $300 usd into pesos just before leaving the United States. As soon as you cross the border and they give you the go ahead, you have to stop in the nearest parking stall at the border crossing building, go inside, find immigration and pays for you visa. We’ve never done it online. Always pay in person where they give you the stamp. If you still aren’t sure where to go for the visa. Ask the border crossing officer… it’s just hard to remember because they quick at moving people thru and it’s all stressful the first time thru that it’s easy to forget. But Hey!! You are in Baja now and there isn’t anything else that you need to know beyond enjoying yourselves. Cheers 🍻 eat a taco for me

I truly enjoyed this video you two posted. Give this a "10"🏆. First time seen this channel. Very pleasant and pack with interesting material. Have been following another channel of another couple who are on same path basically to Cabo and are stuck this moment in La Paz with a cracked leaking transmission housing trying to get back across Border to US. They are fairing okay but the mechanical issue put a big damper on their trip. Your video was a breath of fresh air, to the cliff-hanger Allie and Dan are in the mist of resolving their way out of. I think that no one makes things clear and they don't think of what they put you through. I went with a tour group the first time I went to Mexico. They told us stay with the group because if you get in trouble there is nothing we can do. The last time I was in Tijuana because I didn't like the warning. Congrats on getting there.

I used to go to San Felipe two to three times per year for about 10 years. That was a long time ago. No passports, just drivers license. We used to camp at campgrounds right on the beach. We had sand rails and once we got to San Felipe they were our mode of transportation. Of course we were only staying 4-5 days so visa was not a problem. I can pretty much guarantee that all your hassles will be worth it. You will love Baja.

just a little tip; for international travel, ALWAYS have hard copies of ALL your documents. "Having copies on your phone" is pretty much a young American thing. The clam thing sounds like anatomical slang. 🤭 Lorreto was a fun place to fly into from US. That plane crash is so BAJA. Kinda like post apocalypse in a moonscape. Love the sound of bottle caps mixed with parking lot gravel. Slide your feet while wading in water so as to Not step on the stingrays. Also silky wet suit protects from invisible stinging element in Sea of Cortez around Loretto. Bon Appetite all along.

Pete's camp is a good place to camp in San Felipe and there's a few other places as well. Alfonsina's on Gonzaga Bay is a nice place for fish tacos and it's right on the water. Happy travels to you!

I lived in Mexico for a couple of years in the early aughts. I flew out to visit friends and drove back through a border crossing with a friend. The border guard didn't stamp my passport. 9 months later I spent 48 hours unclear if I was going to be deported because the stamp was missing. Don't mess around with those stamps they take them very seriously Glad you were able to work it out

Consider yourselves lucky at the border, last week , my friend showed his passport when crossing the border from the US onto Mexico, he wanted to return after a few days and couldn't get back in, they claimed that for the type of visa he had, he could only enter by plane, he had to drive to the closest airport to catch a flight to Mexico for the US, the next issue was, he was driving his girlfriend's car...🥺. I am only sharing this to remind ourselves that there will always be someone going through a much worse situation. Stay safe👏🙂

Mexicans burocrats LOOOOOOOVE their paperwork. When renewing my Temporary Residency and when changing to my Permanent Residency, I would have bundles and bundles of documents, most in duplicate or triplicate and there would ALWAYS be some document missing or filled out wrong or something... Checkpoint in southern mexico. They had been there for 4 months but were not stopped until then. Keep up the great work!
