Yeah I’m a few years late jumping on this haha, I’ve currently got a lightly modded Astra j VXR with ultra low mileage at the minute, my plan is to use it through the summer then move it on for a RS MK2, this video has given a great insight to what they are about, that car is exactly my plan for my own once I find the right one Many thanks Ben

I’ve been lucky enough to drive friends Mk2 and Mk3. Mk3 is a big step up, and a far better daily car, but I enjoyed the Mk2 much more, for the exact reasons you mention. You basically hold on and hope you stay on the road. I loved it.

have to say I own a performance blue mk2 rs focus two years ago love it to bits me kids are older wife not interested so had plenty of fun in it on me jack jones lol but got bored after owing it for two years and sold and replaced it with the Megane R26R what car the r26r is have owned it for two years now and never looked back the megane with the titanium exhaust never fails to put a smile on me face

Always been a fan of the rs, but more the mk1. The mk2 sounds the best for sure though, and I enjoyed the review. If you can, do a review of the mk1 rs. I heard they have massive torque steer though 🤣

That’s what I thought before buying mine this week, it’s a Lux Pack 2 with 10,900 miles from new. Being inside with the optional black semi-alcantara/leather recaros it looks phenomenal. Yes it doesn’t look new compared to the newer ones, but it’s such an absolute joy to be in.

The volvo 5 pot used in the focus and all Volvo's is derived from the original Audi Quattro 5 cylinder so they sound pretty much the same. They also have the same displacement.

Do you mind sharing your bad experience? Personally Mk2 back end has always been very odd due to the taillights, mounted like an MPV. However, Build wise they're pretty solid!

Yeah sure... well i got a 15 plate ford focus.. ther was so much wrong with it. The music system sync would just randomly go off whilst i was driving it. This happend for about a year... kept taking it back go ford they kept sayin 'everything seems fine'... Then we had an issue with the electric window not working... then our push to start button wasn't working... i understand if it dies over time but not in the first six months you buy a car...customer service was terrible... so then i decided im js gna get a golf so a year later i got a golf and been happy ever since!! Also in my opinion the drive of a ford is pile of poo compared to the golf im driving.

@@leem7471 That's true! VW's are far more reliable and their drive is much more rewarding than Ford too. Perhaps the whole electric system of your former Ford went bad causing multiple issues every now and then. Could be as little as a fuse to even multiple wiring harnesses problems.
