It took watching the RTE documentary on the subject to discover what incredible engineers these crusaders were! The tunnels at Acre being the point in hand.Discovered by the archeological community in 1996.As a project of civil engineering they have clearly withstood the sands of time. Very worth chasing up!

Never that brother. The Templars were outspoken for Freedom, which was almost taboo at that time (authoritarian kings and all lol). They hold dear the fact that God gave man freewill and choice and that its up to the individual. They were very libertarian to be honest. We find evidence of this with their works in the cult(brothehood) of the divine holy spirit (o culto - ou irmandade - do divino espirito santo) and the Fifth Empire ( o quinto reino). Theres alot of templar facts and history that we will never solidly know about because most of what was written and kept in archives has been lost or destroyed. The only remaining history that is factual wqs passed down orally but I find that the keepers of that orated history dont say anything to anyone really because virtually noone bbelieves and they usually wont have the scholarly attributes needed to make their word believable, so people dismiss it as hearsay or broken telephone or simply jusy not credible due to lack of primary or even secondary sources.... its difficult being said person.

Simple. They could protect people, provide food to the hungry, shelter for the homeless, medicine for the sick and guidance for those seeking it. Religious, spiritual, atheist, etc. doesn't matter. They'd serve the People for free. If others wanted to join it would be open to all willing to live that way. I would gladly devote my life to that cause right now 🙏

There are lists here and there on the Internet. According to my father's family coat-of-arms (De Villiers) we are descended from the last Knoght Preceptor of the Knights Templar of Provence (Gerhard de Villiers 1199-1213). It has the Lamb Of God holding The Spear of Longinus in his curved front leg. I can't find much more than this.

Hun, There's no cavalry coming to save us. We ordinary people have to do it ourselves, NOT rely on anyone else. Unfortunately, people aren't standing together, and as the saying goes... " United we stand, divided we fall" People need to start remembering that again. It's the everyday ordinary people that are going to make the difference, no one else.... and if the everyday ordinary people don't do it, then we're all just screwed. There's no Templars or cavalry or anyone else going to come riding in and help. And sadly, people are simply too complacent and cowardly to even save themselves or each other. Rather then say The Modern Templar have been around since the days of 1314 via Freemasonry and offer proof via others research i will simply say Templars are mind set both mental and spiritual. Just like there are many faiths that practice Christianity. There are many groups using the name Templar and trying to live up to their ideals. Isn't that a better argument to make for the betterment of mankind?

There are the York Rite, OTSI, The Secular Templar Order, SMOTJ, And thats just in the USA. There are quite a few else where. Portugal Still has the order of Christ. So saying "You are quite wrong" is well, wrong.

I could wish for an expanse , where ALL Christians being persecuted and or facing other dangers , even the U.S. , that could help in many ways in what they do now , provide some sense of security , and even intraduce political/belief changes , openly or covertly. The order was supressed but not abolished. The order was later cleared by all charges by Pope Clement V via the Chinon Parchment. The order than flourished in Portugal as the Order of Christ. Today, the order goes by OSMTJ/OSMTH

You tube templers today,the Catholic Templars try and go by the st Bernard path,they gaurd the most profound relics of Christianity ,the thing about the templers to remember is there is one cause,I'm very interested in the cause of the knites templer but this is Glasgow Scotland,I was a self defense teacher and musician,I know there's only one knitehood and one cause, with the templers I've seen Catholics, Protestant,and orthodox all in one I think it's great and I'm glad this pope is going through the papal bulls wich say the templers cannot be dissolved,and because they disappeared in the Avignon captivity they appear to be valid on paper ,so ther is a movement in the Catholic area for full recognision ,I feel this will be the long awaited fruit of Vatican 2 because the templers fullfil it anyway ⚜️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚜️

I am a sitting Knights Templar here in Texas and 32° master mason in the Scottish Rite. This video is not accurate. Due to we are Freemasons and women are not allowed to the order. They can however be part of the Order of the Eastern Star.
