Yes, and because he's been there before, against Magnus, and this time, against Ding... And he still didn't manage to win 😢 I was rooting for Ding, because I normally wants to see the underdogs to win, but Nepo is clearly the better player (most of the time), from the candidates and from previous 14 games, he was always the one leading, but he always couldn't find the finishing blow and Ding escaped from heavy injuries so many times, but in the end they drew the results of the 14 games and Ding managed to win one game in rapid and he's now the World champion... I was hoping that this year would be Nepo's and perhaps the next year Ding can win the candidates again and challenge Nepo AGAIN to win the WCC then!! So heartbreaking for Nepo!!

Ding probably glanced at his two passed pawns one too many times, just enough to inspire such a brave decision to 'go for it' rather than accept the repetition with a nobody wins result of a draw. What a surprise and amazing chess game, easily one of the greatest World Championship Chess games ever played! How entertaining and fun to watch! Great play by Nepo and Nepo has nothing to prove (similar to Magnus) as he has competed for World Chess Champion twice all ready! Wow! ..Congrats to Ding Liren, our new World Chess Champion! Ding may have shown moments of emotional vulnerability, but his mental fortitude is truly exceptional. Despite a challenging start in the candidates' tournament, he managed to turn the tide. At one point, even Caruana suggested it was primarily a contest between Nepo and himself, yet Ding's unyielding determination propelled him back into the race. Even when Nakamura appeared to be the likely contender for the second-place finish on the final day, Ding persisted. Nakamura's unexpected blunder in a potentially draw-worthy position became a turning point. Ding's journey to the World Championship match itself is a testament to his unwavering resolve. He continued to grind through the game when many, including his opponent, had seemingly moved on. It's hard to find a more fitting term than 'iron-will' to describe his ability to persevere against the odds.

Ding Liren wasn't overwhelmed by emotions because he won. He was overwhelmed because he knows he'll have to defend the title against Carlsen.

Black Qf5 lost the game for Nepo. It was a useless move, which allowed Ding to push the pawn. If he didn't move the Q, the white H pawn march would've won the game for him. Unbelievable mistake, likely due to Ding's surprise move and time pressure. But what a win for Ding, wow, well deserved!! 🎉
What is happening to Ding Liren??
