Hi just wondering how did you get the brakes to work on the trailer?

Easier than you'd expect. The handbrake is cable operated on the calipers on these so I simply connected the solid rod from the trailer hitch to the yoke where the handbrake cables connected to the original lever and as the trailer overruns it pulls the rod which pulled the original handbrake cables. I did toy with the idea of using the hydraulic system and having a solenoid line lock from the reverse light so stop it coming on if pushing back uphill but I bravely decided this was way too much effort. Considering I'd put all the electrics in, it's own battery and an alarm, central locking power windows and roof, I guess I could have "just done that" as well 🙂

I’m wondering how much that trailer weighs? I’m guessing about 1,000 pounds?

No idea what it actually weighed in the end but I would suggest that it was too much to be of any real use! A fun project to build that got amazing reactions. Was it worth it? No, but it was a laugh.
