Anderson had a brutal two years but he's always getting breakaways, always getting chances, every now and then he throws his body around and he gets mad and gritty pretty quick. He's got so much potential and a good hockey sense of where to be. Just can't seem to finish these last few years. He also sees no PP and not much PK so he makes all his opportunities himself just to not complete. Sad. I'm still rooting for him, there are brief flashes of greatness almost every game!

All the contracts are good, I just hope the players can stay healthy, especially Guhle. He's our best defensive defenseman coming up I'm pretty sure. He had good rankings this season (D-zone stick checks per game he was 12th in the league, D-zone denials per game he was 45th, blocked shots per game he was 20th, etc.) and all that at the age of 22. He's one of our youngest D on the future core with Mailloux (21) and Hutson (20). All our future D-core is 24 and under right now.

This is EXACTLY what has been exciting me the most about my team! (Yes, I own the HABS.) Putting together a TEAM that will compete for a LONG time and not just 1 or 2 playoff runs. I understand the hand Bergevin was dealt with veteran stars like Price and Weber...etc all being on the verge of ending their careers and such. So he tried to go for that one cup run and give the guy credit, he came SO CLOSE to putting together some pieces that got them within 3 wins of the ULTIMATE. 3 more wins and MB would be a HERO. The first cup in Canada since MTL in 93. It would have been a HUGE DEAL. A major accomplishment. But they fell short and here we are. And I LOVE where we are right now!! This team of prospects so far is so damn exciting! I literally have NEVER been this invested in MTL's prospect pool! And I LOVE IT. It's a game within the game. Seeing the great young talent that has been providing fan optimism for the past couple years. (Minus the unfortunate injury bug.) But if those injuries can hopefully heal, I'm looking forward to players like DACH and NEWHOOK making an impact on that L2. With whoever they slide in there with them, until DEMIDOV gets here. And DEFENSE! It's an overload of prospects at the moment. But it's a good problem to have. Players having to compete hard against teammates for spots is what they need to develop. I'm so excited to see what HUTSON can do. And Reinbacher, Mailloux, Struble ...etc. And with so many established guys like Matheson, Savard, Ghule, Harris, and XHEKAJ. Anyways. Point is. It's a bright looking future with a winning culture on the horizon that is very fun to watch right now. It hasn't been this way in a very LONG time.

The huge problem with Gally and Anderson is that, they can’t be traded. Nobody wants them. Anderson have a pretty big contract and an absurd one for what he has been producing the past 3 years. And Gallagher’s is even worst BUT. If Montreal trade Gally. A lot of fans will be really disappointed. Gally is Montreal’s heart. He has always been a Habs since he was drafted and, sur he hasn’t aleays been putting numbers like his 30 goal season but… He is coming to every game, giving 200% on the ice and grinding for the fans. He is a fan favorite and yes his contract is terrible but we don’t want to see Gally in a Toronto jersey.

I have no expectations for the upcoming season. Probably picking around 10 in the draft next year but I think next offseason we see some big moves to bring in the missing pieces to start making the playoffs. Dach is a big ? IMO. What really derailed the Habs under Bergevin in my mind was the lock-out shortened season. They had a decent first draft under Bergevin but played over their heads after the lock-out ended. From 3rd last in the league to first in the division should have been a warning sign . It was a misleading 1st place finish in the division. The attempted quick fixes were on from that point until Bergevin was fired.
@AM-ko4pi2 ай бұрын
They did play a little over their head, but the real reason they fell so hard was they lost their number 1 goalie, number 1 D, and number 1 C in that offseason. Any team would fall apart after an offseason like that.
@charlestessier78432 ай бұрын
@AM-ko4pi It is a fair point. But let's not forget the arrangement of that season during COVID-19 air travel restrictions where the Habs only played in Canada until the conference final. They MIGHT NOT have made the playoffs if it would have been normal regular season play playing teams like Boston, Tampa Bay or Pittsburgh to name a few BUT we'll never know. And yes I did enjoy that playoff run where they made the Stanley Cup finals while staying realistic as far as this Cinderella team run was concerned. Midnight Cinderella time finally did ring.

Subban holding out for his contract ruined the team. Selfish, greedy player. Couldn't just play his role had to skate end to end and in circles in the o-zone.
