To my ear, "chilly" is to Chile as "kiyodo" is to Kyoto. When I moved to the mainland US from Hawaii, I was about 10 years old and it was the first time I heard Japanese words and names being pronounced *like that*. My teacher was excitedly telling me about her adventures in "kiyodo" after I told her my mom had just moved back to the US from Japan, and it took me a few minutes to figure out where "kiyodo" was. It was worse than hearing my non-Japanese cousin tell me she liked "Top Raymen". Chilly-ness aside, British pronunciation of tapas ("tap-ass") never fails to make me giggle. 😹

1:21:28 Man, it is definitely tough to get the proposal correct. We went on vacation to Maine, Mt Desert Island, and my idea was to propose at Otter Cliffs in Acadia. We start walking Ocean Path trail from Sand Beach and about half way through, my parents and wife were getting tired and I'm trying to keep them pushing on. We turn back and just drive to the cliff as I try to iterate its really important to see it. My mom is a photographer on the side so I wanted to make sure she had enough space left on her memory card but here she is, taking pictures of a sea gull while I'm trying to give her subtle hints... thankfully she had enough space to get some pictures but it felt like everything was going to go wrong.

It is very, very hard to get off work for more than maybe a week or if lucky 2, in any month if it is not July/August. So that is probably why this is the trend, if it was easier to get 3 weeks off or more during early spring or October or something, I'd be there in a heartbeat...
