Aww thanks for your recognition! I was just giving my honest opinion about a lens I love because it defies physics being so small and light, while also being so sharp wide open at F2.0. It honestly makes the NX500 almost as pocketable as the GR3, with better image quality and features. I'm so glad you liked it, and I thank you for fostering such a positive online community as you do!

Thanks Markus for a another very good video! I like your casual playfulness and that you still deliver really good image results. I have shot with a mixed Panasonic/Olympus m4/3 system for many years and I like that system, though I use Sony FF mostly these days. My favorite m4/3 lens for portraits is the Panasonic Leica 25/1.4. It is small, light and still sharp even wide open. It fits really well on my old Olympus E-PL5 body. It is a little larger than your Lumix GM1/5 but has a tiltable screen. The 75/1.8 sets me a little to far away for my taste, I loose the connection to my model, but sharp it is plenty. I sold my 75 when I went FF but kept the 25 since it is so light. You said in another video that you wanted both EVF and hotshoe, check out the Olympus E-M10mkII or III. Rather cheap bodys, but has both those features and also the 5-axis IBIS. A thing I think could make your videos even better is to engage Cara more in some way and not let her stand idling in the background when you show things. And also tell more about why you choose to compose the shots the way you did and maybe also show the basic camera settings and which filters you used in some text overlay when you show the images.

Great video. I'm always playing around with cameras and because of your videos my interest has been re-peaked in Samsung. Thinking of get both sensor sizes. Found a pink Mini and it reminds me of when Digital Rev would paint their cameras pink. That pancake lens for the NX system also looks to be a good in the pocket carry EDC.

I love the 70s look. I'm colourblind (red/green, 85% less colour, so a lot of overlapping colours and can't determine what's happening or how to correctly adjust) and was wondering what do you use to get that WB? Is it a fluorescent WB setting, shade or manual adjustment? Love your vids, by the way. I remember the 70s as a glowy time also, although I was only 8 by the end of all that excitement. The 80s seemed overcast by comparison. Maybe that was just the Uk in the 80s .

Markus, Samsung was way ahead of anything available at it's price point at the time it was released. I had the NX-500 with the 10mm fish eye, 30mm pancake and the 45mm. They were all great lenses and a great camera! I just couldn't see keeping a dead system, and traded for an a6400.

Hi, Markus. Just to say that Venus Optics announces a new manual LAOWA 10mm f/4 cookie APS-C mirrorless pancake lens (12 elements in 8 groups, 5 blades) about 130g. The world’s widest rectilinear pancake for APS-C with super-low distortion, and high optical performance. Close minimum focusing distance (minimum distance 10cm / 4inches). For Canon RF, Nikon Z, Sony E, L, and Fuji X mount - Price: $299 / €292 / £249.

Hi Markus. I'll like to update from my 10 year old Canon T2i a camera with a good sensor with which I can take astrophotography. Do you recommend me to getting a Sony A2ii, or a newer camera with a cropped sensor? My budget is around $1,000 or a bit more for the body.
@MarkusPix5 жыл бұрын
The A7Sii can practically see in the dark. It's full frame so things are sharp and the light sensitivity is astronomical
@reckerproduction94685 жыл бұрын

@SalwanJBinni5 жыл бұрын
Lovely stuff so thanks for sharing... Still there is only one thing that I don't understand which is how the Samsung, APS-C sensor is "bigger" than its Sony counterpart?! As far as I know the standard APS-C size is 1.5 times smaller than the full frame one. That holds true for all camera brands including Samsung, and the exception is Canon where its APS-C sensor is 1.6 times smaller than the full frame size. And of course the sensor size is something different from the pixels count.
@MarkusPix5 жыл бұрын
There is no law, each company has different specs of what they call APSC. Canon APSC for example is a smaller sensor 22.3 x 14.9 than Sony 15.6 x 23.5. Although the NX500 and 6000 series have similar physical dimensions, Samsung’s 15.28µm2 sensor has a 15% larger pixel area than Sony’s 13.18µm2

I hope Samsung can jump back into the camera market and out-spec everybody else again. Unlike those Japanese cartels who are constantly crippling/colluding on specs, Samsung is also the only one who has the computation technology to make cameras that can compete with the smartphone cameras.

Hi Lee The Samsung 16mm lens is better for Vlogging while holding on the end of your arm. If using a tripod, then any lens will work. The NX500 does not have an audio input. If you like Samsung, the NX mini is a great small blogging camera, but again, no audio input but they do all have built in mics if that's ok. I suggest going to BC Camera in Vegas and telling them what you are looking to do and your price range and they will show you all the options. I'm going there in a few days myself to get the new Sony R100 VII which has an audio input but its not cheap. Good luck
