Just use milk and vinegar as a substitute . Pour Milk in the amount of buttermilk required , minus two tablespoons, the rest being vinegar

I think this is the first time I've seen the use of real strawberry puree in strawberry cake. Also, I really like that you mostly use just salted butter (which is what I grew up with). It seems like almost every other cooking show makes a big deal about using unsalted butter to "control" the salt.

I made this for my birthday last week. If I could post a picture of how it turned out I would. I let my ex-girlfriend have three slices of it and she liked it. I will say I usually have to refrigerate the frosting for half an hour to harden it up before I apply it to the cake. Otherwise, it's usually runny. I plan on making it again.

It’s a beautiful cake! I wouldn’t be able to use the coloring or the jello. I’m allergic to artificial coloring and flavoring. Guess I would have to make another kind of frosting.

You can make the frosting adding more strawberry pure, and mixing with whipping cream, powered sugar and mascarpone cheese. The mascarpone cheese makes the frosting very stable thats why is used for Chantilly and tiramisu cake.

I believe I messed up on the Chantilly recipe. It was perfect until it was time to combine the cream cheese mixture with the whipped cream. Then it became super soggy almost soupy. 😭😭😭😭😩😩 but the cake was sooo soft and yummy
