I’d give anything if America could be as sane and great as it was when this video was done in 1974. What a great time it was. And a return to people who are truly talented and great music wouldn’t be too bad either. Charlie Rich brought SO many people to country music back then. He helped make “country” cool. 😊

@GerardFrenchy59 Thank you. There was always music in our house. We had family on my fathers side that was in bands. I listened to a lot of different kinds of music. I'm thankful to all of my family for instilling me respect for all music genres. 😊💖

No matter what genre of music happens to be your favourite you just have to love this song. You can feel the heartbreak in his voice. Often wondered if it was about anyone in particular? Beautifully sad.

The 70s were wild. This guy was a pop sensation. Dude looks like a ready to retire shop teacher from Plano Texas.

Yes, wild! Music was judged on its own merit. Crazy notion, I know.

A lot of country and crooner stars were trying to convert to pop music, with mixed success. Rich did pretty well.

These days, country music sounds more like pop music.😂

I was 12. Had to make sure that the parents were asleep, before I would turn on the old B&W TV in my room. 12" screen. Played it real quiet and was always entertained.
