I remember when Mortal Kombat X was coming out I was watching this video where this guy was talking about Sub-Zero and he was speculating if it was actually maybe Shao Kahn, because it was the first time and a game or ever we heard Sub-Zero's say something like "I will freeze your soul" And that kind of seems like a Shang tsung Shao Kahn kind of thing to say. AND one of Sub-Zero's poses after around where his back is to the screen and he freezes himself it almost looks like Shadow Khan's helmet from behind but it's just his hair. I thought Jacqui's ending in MK11 was wild too. She erased herself from existence to prevent her dad from experiencing time as a revenant. While it was nice and kind-hearted, I found it more like an L since Jax would've never met Vera and never had Jacqui. It's like a huge slap in the face to her mom.

Easy solution to fix Sindel's ending: Shao Khan did the "more than mind control" trope on Sindel. So she's convinced that it was her decision. It's an easy fix. Also, the Cyber Sub-Zero ending in MK9 is honestly unnerving with no dialogue. I'm convinced that it was deliberate.

Actually i think a better fix is that Sindel found the banshee spirit sealed up in a cave or something and in desperation to stop Shao Kahn from invading she fused with it. That will explain why she is so powerfull aswell. Also, thats why she had no remorse killing her husband and doing all that stuff because now she is not Sindel but the Banshee spirit. It would explain why she used her last moments to protect earth realm from Shao Kahn with the veil before dying as she managed to take control of her body once again after the spirit was weakenned by Quan Chi who tried to murder her. It needs a few tweaks here and there but i think its a good story/backstory for her.

@@adonm6998 But that would imply Sindel killing Jerrod is true, rather than a planted false memory. So that's not better in any way. It also makes her evil before Edenia was taken over by Outworld. In the original timeline, after she killed herself, Shao Kahn made a deal with Shinnok, to corrupt her soul, before having her reincarnate on Earthrealm, thus allowing Shao Kahn to enter Earthrealm, but also make her evil and more willing to support him. Kitana helped Sindel to remember her past life and that's what made her good again. Sindel later returned the favour by freeing Kitana from Onaga's control. It was a great arc for the character that was utterly ruined in every possible way by NRS writers. Also, the reason she was so powerful in MK2011 was because she was infused by Shang Tsung's soul (and I assume the souls of all those Tsung posessed). She was powerful in her own ight anyway, but not THAT powerful. MK11 (especially Aftermath) is just a cluster-f**k.

As far as I'm aware the dragons in MK are usually that of the Gods. It''s their true form. It's why the MK logo is a dragon - it's a tournament set up by the Elder Gods, so it literally represents them and their will upon the realms. However there are some small exceptions: Orin and Caro, the guardians of Tavern and Daegon are dragons. Not sure if they are of the same race as the Gods, and therefore Gods themselves (maybe lower in rank to the likes of Raiden and Argus). They are similar types of dragons (the asian, serpent-like ones). Onaga was called the "Dragon King", but the form he takes in Deception is mostly due to his host body being Reptile. However, Onaga was an Outworlder, and the Shokan are half-dragon natives of Outworld, so perhaps Onaga is related in some way to the Shokan?! But could this also mean Shokans are related to the Gods in some way? Half-Gods like Rain?! I wish this was explored / explained more in the lore. So yeah, that Sub Zero ending with the dragons comes way out of left-field, and the fact they are European-style dragons too - it just doesn't seem to fit with what we know of dragons in MK.

Nightwolf's MK9 ending is also bizarre. And kinda terrible imo. Basically his spirit wolf disappears after beating Shao Kahn, and after a few years of meditation his wolf returns only its been possessed by Shao Kahn somehow. And the Shao Kahn wolf possesses Nightwolf and gains the ability to turn people into lycanthropes....somehow. Now Shao Kahn possessed Nightwolf who's now permanently a wolf begins spreading lycanthropy across the realms to conquer it "one person at a time." Man its weird.

For me some MK 11 endings were pretty bizzare. Like Johnny Cage's ending, where young Johnny just desides to do nothing with the Hourglass and his past, because he saw, that he needed bad life experience to mature and become a better person (well, he did a little alteration, where he saved Sonya, but that's about it). To see Johnny Cage of all people deciding to leave everything as it is... that's something you don't see coming. Or Erron Black's ending, where he too decides to do nothing, and even goes as far as drowning the Hourglass, because nobody deserves that kind of power. He was like "No cheating! Play fair!", something that from a greedy mercenary, like him is definitely unexpected.

The whole brainiac ending is a whole Easter egg/cameo for Braniac 5 of the legion of superheroes, the future intergalactic version of the justice league. A brainiac mirror match will even say they’re the Braniac 5, Braniac’s heroic decedent. Braniac 5 is held trial in his ending because the Legion do have access to time travel vehicle to only be used in the case one of the future’s villains get access to time travel (which happens a lot).

I like to think that Cassie beating up Shujinko wasn't a mistake. Maybe Raiden sent her to actually stop Shujinko from resurrecting Onaga. Saying that it's Shang Tsung would have her fight her hardest. You know she would have heard stories about him growing up. For me the Twindel ending made me very angry because this was the first exposure to non brainwashed Sindel if I didn't decide to look at Armageddon cutscenes to find out what Armageddon was I wouldn't have been interested in seeing how Raiden became dark,but when I saw deception cutscenes they showed me who the real Sindel was and makes me feel like these guy change her character for what so they can have their dose of mk game retcons. What about Jax's Arcade Ending? From what I've heard, most people who've done Jax's Arcade Mode hated that ended mainly because, Jax became Woke(?). He decided to use the Hourglass to rewrite history to make sure that slavery and the oppression over black folk never happened, while at the same time making sure that he and his family exists in the present time. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's a terrible idea for an ending, the problem with this idea is that it comes out of nowhere. Nowhere in Jax's character ever indicated that he wanted to do something like this or felt like he was being oppressed because he was a black guy in a white society. If anything, Jax was often seen as true patriot, as he was both a military soldier and Sonya's superior before the events of the Mortal Kombat series. Not to mention, one of his victory outros, at least the one in MK9, has him pulling out an American flag and wrapped it around his shoulder, showing his love for his country. Hell, if he wanted to use the Hourglass, couldn't he have used it to prevent something like the invasion of Shao Kahn's army and the death of nearly every member of the EarthRealm Defenders, including himself, prevent himself from losing his arms during his fight against Ermac, or rewrite history where he saves his wife from dying, just so that he can no longer feel miserable? I feel like that those three ideas of a potential Arcade Ending would make a lot more sense than him getting Woke, mainly because of all the shit he endured during the course of MK9, MKX and MK11. Think about it for a second, Jax was beaten, captured and held hostage on Shang Tsung's island so that they could lure Sonya into the Mortal Kombat tournament, lost his arms by the hands of Ermac, nearly bleeding to death. He was then swiftly killed by Sindel, along with Kabal, Stryker, Cyber Sub-Zero, Kitana, Jade and Nightwolf and were all resurrected as revenants, forced to serve Quan Chi and Shinnok. Resurrected as a human, alongside Sub-Zero and Scorpion, and Johnny Cage was also saved before becoming a revenant, of which Jax needed to both retire as a soldier and undergo therapy. Married his therapist and had a daughter, of which his daughter decided to join the military, much to Jax's disapproval. Vera eventually dying due to some sort of illness, leaving Jax all alone, which resulted in him being easily manipulated by Kronika to serve him, and betraying everyone he considered his friends. Needless to say, Jax had it very rough in this timeline. If anything, I think the ending where someone using the hourglass to rewrite history in order to prevent slavery and the oppression over black folk should've been Geras' ending and would've made more sense, since he's a black guy who's a literal slave working for a white woman with no free will of his own. Also, fuck Sindel's ending in MK11!!!

Going back in time and risking jacqui’s existence to stop the trade was plain out of character. This ending probably would’ve been better for Geras, a literal slave.

I've read and written my fair share of time traveling stories, so I think there's a specific reason Braniac's descendant decided to go back to that specific moment, and it's kinda simple honestly. Brainiac was meant to be defeated at that point in time. Although, this brings up another question: why did he have to go back in the first place if Brainiac was already defeated? The answer could be one of many things, but I'm gonna place my bet on a convergence between two different timelines: one where Brainiac wins and one where Brainiac loses. This Brainiac could have come from a different timeline where Brainiac wins(or isn't defeated until much later) and decided to change that. But hey, that's just a theory... (no I won't say it.)

I remember when Mortal Kombat X was coming out I was watching this video where this guy was talking about Sub-Zero and he was speculating if it was actually maybe Shao Kahn, because it was the first time and a game or ever we heard Sub-Zero's say something like "I will freeze your soul" And that kind of seems like a Shang tsung Shao Kahn kind of thing to say. I personally don´t find it bad the ending of cassey from MKX as shujinko (while being mannipulated ofc) gather the kamidogus so he could free onaga who is a beast that was sealed for a reason and shujinko free him but he took care on his own hands, so, by taking that to account cassey might as well prevented deception all together (if canon ofc). Again, I don´t remember a lot of that game but that´s how I remembered it

While for the most part all of the arcade endings are alright to me with the minor/major exceptions that is Sindel, however some of the endings that TrueUnderDawg have mentioned may not be that bizzare. For Injustice 2 in Brainiac's ending I reconized the other Brainiac(5) was suppose to be the Brainiac from the Legion of Superheroes where he comes from and as to why he did that. And in MKX in Cassie Cage's ending she was offered/order by Raiden to seek out Shujinko (Somehow you neglected to mentioned that part...AGAIN). And if you were to recalled from MK Deception story mode Shujinko despite his good intentions brought back the Dragon King Onaga to conquer the realms. Needless to say Cassie needed to stop him before he brings back Onaga again. And dude com'on Cassie maybe a zoomer but she knows better to instoke a fight without any reason, why do ya think she's the protagonist in MKX. Although if you want to talk about a really bizzare endings 2 comes to my mind which are Kano's ending where he host a fight club and have Sonya and Cassie fight each other in skimpy outfits (it's weird but it's hot). And the other is Fujin's ending which is almost depicted as Jesus last supper, as a christian I fine this to be a bit funny and also blasphemy.

Incorrect, Cassie was told to hunt down a soul-stealer. She assumed this was Shang Tsung despite never being told that "Cassie did not have to be told this could be Shang Tsung" So she likely attacked Shujinko just because he looks very similar to Shang Tsung; not because he was actively stealing anyone's soul Cassie is a millennial like me, not a zoomer. She was born one year later than I. Also quick side-note, Shujinko never summoned the Dragon King. He simply gathered the kamidogu. The Dragon King was already alive and walking around thanks to Reptile

Thank you for talking about evil Sindel. Don’t get me wrong I like her but she doesn’t hold a candle to the original Sindel who was a tragic hero. My favorite portrayal of Sindel was in the Mortal Kombat Legacy films on KZbin. That Sindel offered us an emotional story. That’s not easy to achieve in a video game and Sindel made us all feel for her. She was like the MK version of Marvel’s Storm. Someone with a strong will and sense of righteousness that give hope and inspiration where other characters are so one dimensional. I hope they bring back good Sindel because my heart always felt for her in the Legacy series and when I played the original MK3 back in the arcade era. Also, I’d like to see skins of characters from the legacy series.
