Not really. A railgun isn't distinct at all. A rail gun is anything that uses sequencial magnets to lob a projectile. It can look like a pringles tube or some crazy scifi bullshit depending on your taste.

+Edward Kwong you can build the patriot from mgs 3 relatively early/mid game. same for the PSG-1 from MGS *to sniper wolf's specs minus laser sight* so yeah you can Rambo the entire game. just not with 100% completion which does require the element of stealth. by the by the hail grenade launcher you can get before even doing the code talker mission. it's a mid game deal, however, late game it does have a drum mag.

Rocket Punch is amazing. I've taken out entire guard posts (with 6+ enemies spread out) in a single shot. It's so much fun to use, especially when... training... with the staff on base.

the 12.7mm anti material rifle is best I feel fully upgraded as well as customized. this is merely a matter of preference mind you. I go with the semi automatic upgrade *rank 5*, suppressor, 10 round mag, and the muzzle for closer shot grouping. it takes roughly 3 shots to take out a gunship. a close second would be the MRS-71 with .308 ammo *yes you can build the PSG-1, but I make a rather close quarters version. with the pistol under barrel for utility.* MRS-71 custom: barrel: MRS SR barrel mag: .308 x20 stock: MRS AD stock muzzle: M2000 B-muzzle muzzle a: sup GP-W (R2) flashlight: yes laser sight: no under barrel: D114 UDBL- CB scope: I leave to general preference, but I am a fan of RF scope (2-8x) *range finder does not exceed 200m, however, shots have exceeded this range by nearly double.* this is my main work horse for S's n G's, but overly useful for fob battle where killing reduces hero rank. shoot to wound, and fulton. you get more hero rank that way due to lifesaver bonus. although you are using a shorter barrel you have very few draw backs to this, and can use this weapon in small buildings with ease; also can be used for interrogations at close range. you can even snipe with the D114 UDBL- CB at long range, however, it takes practice. when done right NPC's cannot hear it fire claiming your using a suppressor. the price tag however, may not be ideal even not maxed out. 9590 GMP would be the least you can expect to spend for the same equal effectiveness. hip primary custom build the patriot from MGS 3, or famas *custom build with .223*. best secondary hands down..... AM D114 CB, or MACHT 37K. this is speaking lethal weapons wise on all accounts. explosives are cool and all, but i'm expecting more nerfs to come to those for online play. lol 1-4 shots from any of the above weapons is generally a kill/ mortal wound. statistic wise those are about the odds *1 in 4 chances* of someone landing consecutive shots from your average rocket launcher *indirect hits at 30 meters or closer*. the difference is a massive firing rate bonus with very little reload time. granted I play on PC, and use a after glow controller. so maybe i'm just dealing with people who can't aim.

some final comments I see are not said. the 12.7mm AMR *Anti Material Rifle* yes makes armor useless, but it can also break open locked doors, shoot down fences *aim for the fence post*, take out any standard guard tower in one shot *yes shooting just the tower*, completely shoot a riot shield off a NPC's back, and has the lowest amount of bullet drop. everything is almost point and shoot. yes when it's fired it will be your target, and virtually anything behind that target. you pull the trigger on it you will ruin someones' day.

Had about 2000 soldiers in the end, and god knows how many vehicles. Great way to make money, fulton weapons and vehichles, and sell them with profit

It's been a long time since this came out... I used play this very often and once I got the stealth camo thingy...it got boring...well now, my left button is jammed and I can play without getting bored again! Haha!

You should try and do the missions like the older games, procure your weaponry on-site, also use no partners. It's super challenging.

The serval is a semi automatic 50 cal and you can give quiet the sinful butterfly which is the Brennan there is also the un-arc which is a very high powered assault rifle that you can put a tranq gun on the bottom of it and there are shotguns that can knock guys with shields
