I would love that, especially if it allows Caroline to discuss something that NEVER comes up in home decor content: the fact that once the designer walks away, you're on your own, and maybe it's a struggle to make your space live up to the recommendations, and that's fine. Also fine: taking inspiration from the recommendations but not following them to the letter.

I would love to see more tips on decorating with stuff you already own (mismatched furniture/decor/etc.) or super low budgets, like for students/other young people trying to transition into more adult spaces. One of these days you will motivate me enough to get unpacked. Keep being your authentic self as you are truly one in a million!! MB

sending lots of strenght! hope you can make your space feel like home and gather a renewed freshness in life while having to live with all that grief. Maybe, once you're ready design some designated area in memory of your husband, with photos and decor & little items that remind you of him? That way you can keep something of him close to you but wont have to be reminded of it all the time as it might be with his memories being scattered throughout your home. But that's just an idea, since we have something like this for my grandpa, and maybe its common enough to be silly advise, and maybe it would just make it harder for you, I don't know. All the best from a random stranger ❤

The step by step renders are kickass, loved the video, it's got so much packed into 30 minutes, shoutout Tamara for that, and also Paige or yourself on the top down views of everything, especially in the 2nd one they really help clarify what's going on. And excited of what's coming in the future! I will repeat it once again but you're just what KZbin needs right now, feels magical to watch these videos and i feel blessed by the algorithm for having put your channel on my map every time you upload

@coscorrodrift Жыл бұрын
@@Caroline_Winkler I'll keep making the sweet comments if you keep uploading textboxes to put them into LOL. I seriously mean that, I've even made a video saying why, it's on my channel from a couple weeks ago lol, it's got your face on the thumbnail. You're an inspiration for people making stuff from the heart but who want to do it in a way that gets impact and in a sustainable manner, for people who in response to the overwhelming nature of the chaos, fragmentation and eclecticness that KZbin is in 2022/2023 compared to 5-10 years ago, think of the positives , the possibilities, and embrace what can still be done, instead of IMO lesser attitudes like giving up, becoming way too jaded or negative, or, but also not falling for easy narratives and always being thoughtful and respectful of people's perspectives and always contributing from one's own perspective without trying to be totalizing and overreaching, and realizing that that's what's missing the most from the platform. Ambitious people who don't overextend and grab you by the arm in the pursuit of their ambitions, curious people who pay attention to what's happening around them and in the world but don't try to nitpick at the details and the eye-catching drama but instead notice the zeitgeist and put their own spin on it. I think you embody this well and I fully get behind that spirit I get.

“Visually complicated” is a much nicer way to describe the impact of having too many furniture legs in a space than the quote by Eero Saarinen that I read just yesterday. When designing the tulip table and chairs he said “The undercarriage of chairs and tables in a typical interior makes an ugly, confusing, unrestful world. I wanted to clear up the SLUM of legs. I wanted to make the chair all one thing again.” Well, tell us how you really feel Eero 😮😂. Great video one again Caroline! I love the hanging bench cushions in the breakfast nook.

Another fun idea for the breakfast nook would be to incorporate hidden storage space in it! Could be a hidden built in drawer, or you could lift the seating area like it's a chest. Could be the same for the side piece where the turntable is! Could be a good opportunity for a hidden minibar with that one :P Watching this makes me realise any space can become a well designed space when you have the resources and vision for it! Thanks for sharing tips and ideas with us!

I am so loving and inspired by the mid-century modern style coming back. It warms up the grey boxy theme that has been so pervasive for the last decade. It also has the ability to lean into other themes like dark acedemia, steampunk, 70s, art deco (geometric) and neavou (organic), bohemian and more...and can use so many hand-me-downs and thrift items. It is also warm, homey and very forgiving to life clutter and wear on furniture. Nothing is sexier than a leather chair worn from gentle use or the edge fading on a loved family dining table.

Finally had the time to watch this and I'm so glad I did! Caroline, since you asked for other common design questions: - How do you design around a circuit breaker cover? - How to make an ugly WFH setup (big computer, monitors, etc.) look nice in a space? Looking forward to NFE this Thurs!

Really useful! I love the idea of building from a favourite rug or piece of art. And how to make pieces of furniture relate to each other. Excellent!

Like the renderings. Smart way to do reveals and design without all the work.

Love your videos! A design conundrum I really don’t see anyone talking about is hanging art in stairways, especially one that turns (not straight up). How do you address the changing heights and turns the stairs make? How do you create a focal point since that changes depending on if you are going up or down the stairs? Not sure if you’ve had to tackle this yourself, but the answers and examples out there are seriously lacking.

Any ideas for creating a zone without using a rug? I REFUSE to buy a rug for the living area because rugs are always dirty and I HATE vacuuming.... Also Paige is the sweetest! Glad we finally got to see you!!!

Would a machine washable rug like Ruggable be a possibility?

Omg yeees! Same here, I love everything else but rugs are a big NO for me!

If you own the place you could do a durable solution like a painted hardwood zone. You could also use screens or low shelving to block out an area.

I started watching your videos for the interior design aspect, however I found you more interesting than your actual interior design talents (please don't get offended). I think you are so creative in the way you present your videos and there are very few people on KZbin with your actual talent and creativity. You are a a light that shines bright here and I am sure you know that, keep shining girl! I would also like to add that your exercise video was very artistic and I think adding actual music to it made a huge difference! Thank you for making these videos I truly am enjoying watching them.❤
