The Caterpie situation is why I always bring a thunder wave mon. Can’t call for help if you’re paralyzed, so no risk for having to kill a second shiny! 😂 Excellent video as always, would love to see you do more SOS hunts in the future!

Synchronize only works in sos when the pokemon is present in battle, for static encounters it works as long as being first in party.

I loved SOS hunting. I remember seeing the tourist trainer in the Poni Island Poke Center with a Shiny Exeggcute and wanted one too and that’s how I got my first shiny. After that I hunted for a shiny Wishiwashi and later a Shiny Eevee. Man this takes me back.

I looked into the Synchronize situation with SOS battles, and it only works if you have the Synchronize Pokemon on the field. One thing tho, is if you have a fainted Pokemon in the first slot, and then have your Synchronize Pokemon out, it synchronizes the fainted Pokemon's Nature.

I didn't know what shinies were until I was a teenager. When sun and moon came out, I was only on the second route during my first playthrough, and got a full odds shiny alolan rattata. That was the beginning of my shiny addiction ✨️ 😊 I'm almost 26 now, and still love pokemon ❤

SOS is by far my favorite method for hunting. Just enough attention required to not fall asleep playing, but also can be done while watching TV or on the go

I had the perfect setup when I was SOS chaining last year. I had the standard Harvest Trevenant with Skill Swap and Trick, and to save on using items that restored PP and health, the KOing Pokémon would be ones that can learn Role Play and a draining attack. When giving them a Leppa Berry to hold as well, they would basically have infinite PP after they copied Harvest. My favorites to use were Marshadow, Gengar, Palossand, and a Trace Gardevoir.

I also got a shiny Shroomish on my 17th egg which was my first time I properly sat down and hatched eggs, so I’d say it’s a good omen for future shiny hunts

My favorite memory of SOS chaining was my shiny level 11 Salamence I got while hunting bacon on Route 4

I highly recommend bringing a Smeargle with False Swipe, Recycle, a status move and a damaging move as well as a held Leppa Berry. Really helps with the PP management during the hunt. Harvest also works, but Smeargle just has the best movepool for this

When I did SOS chaining during the Gen 7 run, I got my shiny Corsola in 12 encounters. Seeing that you gut yours in 28 makes me want to believe Corsola is just really nice and tries not to prolong the hunt.

I currently can not get a harvest leppa berry pokemon, I personally keep track of turns and get a new caller when they’re close to struggling. I’ve been constantly failing Rockruff though because I accidentally run away Since rockruff has sand attack, I used sneasel that all had false swipe and keen eye

The shiny hunting methods are why I put the gen 6 and 7 games so high on my favorite gens list. Theyre great and powerful, but require you to actually utilize them to find the shinies. Compare that to my least favorite pokemon game, Legends Arceus, where the shinies lose all meaning.

I remember trying to do this with Zorua in Ultra Sun in the uhm…. school grass, but I couldn’t because I sucked at it so I gave up. I only hunted as I heard that Zoroark could DESTROY UN if needed, by the end of the run he was like level 80-90 while everyone else was lv 60-70. Also what are synchs????

Synchronize in earlier gens let’s you have a higher shot at the wild Pokémon being the same nature as the Pokémon in your party with synch. So let’s say I have a jolly synchronize abra. The wild Pokémon has a 50% chance of being jolly

Game won't let you catch a pokemon in a double encounter (same for hordes in X&Y) because the game tells you it's "too hard to aim". Only way it'll let you catch one is if you faint the other one first. Hope this helps a little!

Do yourself a favor. Ultimate team, 1 harvest bestow skill swap mon with leppa to give starting mon infinite pp, 2 false swiper with spore, 3 false swiper with thunder wave, 4 harvest mon with sunny day and horn leech, 5 and 6 are optional but a synchronizer with recycle and a pressurer with recycle.

while i love sos hunting, thry hsbe some of the most challenging hunts i got a shiny pinsir in 4 sos and a shiny miltank in 117 but it can be VERY slow and drsining if you're not prepared

117 really isn't that bad. I got over 500 a couple of times, and I've seen people go over 1000 But congrats on your shinys, Miltank does have a terrible call rate

Can you please go back to the ORAS dex nav hunting Edit: I have decided I wanted my favourite Pokémon Axew with every ribbon it can get and since my Pokémon Y got corrupted a long time ago I decided to hunt it in ORAS which I never played it was just sitting in its game case little did I know the only way to hunt Axew is through the dex nav and after you complete the postgame in granite cave only so I have been doing this for awile but I can’t get it and no I don’t have the shiny charm I am not catching every mon in the game for better odds I am watching this while hunting it but it would be great to see someone so the hunt in modern day because all of the guides and hunts are pretty old and not as high quality as todays content

I believe the reason that none of your synchronizers worked for the SOS is because the synchronizer copies the ability from the second pokemon in your party, I could be wrong though I just remember hearing this a while ago
