Also... that cheese bank is genious! Not only they loan money to the regional producers, but also they take the cheese out of the market, making it rarer, thus pricier, making both the farmers richer and the bank more likely to be paid for the loan. I am actually impressed.
@Bighomiehobbs5 жыл бұрын
For real they are the market
@matteopozzi92454 жыл бұрын
I don't think they are really making the cheese pricier by keeping it in the safe: first avault the cheese that is being given to the bank is just a small fraction of the total production; secondly, the parmigiano that we see it's most likely still in the aging process, therefore not up for sale. If anything, it's interesting how much of a good investment this is for Credem: not only the cheese won't loose it's value, It will gain some: the more time goes by, the longer the cheese Is aged and the pricier it gets.

Actually, the cork trees, aka "Quercus suber" ("Sobreiro" in Portuguese), that have their cork farmed every 9 years, have a bigger lifespawn than non-farmed sobreiros. It's the only (only) tree in the world that can have the bark removed without causing damage to the tree. When the sobreiro bark (cork) is removed, the tree starts producing a newer, stronger, healthier layer. Think of it as this concept: Cork, is a sort of dead skin,that is preventing the tree to grow newer healthier skin. Just so you can learn something new today: Cork industry is considered the most ecologically sustainable industry in the entire planet. Sobreiro forest ("Montado"), is one of the most endagered habitats in the world. Portugal owns most of that forest. And the Portuguese cork industry is, curiously, the main factor for the maintenaince of that habitat. Sobreiro is a protected tree in Portugal. Harming or taking down one of these trees can even give origin to jailtime. Cork harvesters are among the most well paid farming jobs in all Europe. It's a hard job that requires specific hability and experience. To become a professional cork harvester like the ones you see in the video, it can take some years of practicing until they are allowed to harvest the first tree.: It requires experience skill, so the inner layer never gets hurt. Next time you drink wine, please, buy bottles with cork in it. You will be saving forest. You will be helping maintain a specific fauna and flora habitat. You will be helping people put food in the table. And definitivelly, you will be contributing to the reduction of plastic.

Aldo Ferdian actually Brand’s can sponsor great big stories. I’ve done it 2 years straight for the brand I was advertising. We give them themes we are focused on and they shoot it. For the brand it’s just the opening and closing credits, but I feel that it really connects the brand with the audience. GBS can also make content promoting a particular aspect of the brand but they do have very strict guidelines and extremely high production value. But by and large you are right, it’s hard for them to make a ton of money if these.

Cork is also used on a number of instruments, so as a (student) musician (learning music for fun), I have big respect for these people that harvest cork and take care of the cork trees. :)

You guys are awesome, time sure does fly by when I'm watching a great big story. But they are so interesting and wide that I feel like sometimes they are too short. So the next time you make a video please cover all parts of it, from the origin and it's history to the present and the future.
