5:20 - Deep Sea Fish could be blinded, as if they were able to see anything at all there in the pitch black darkness of the Marianna Trench. The fish would be rather vaporized if they are close enough by, or just crushed by the initial pressure wave, but not blinded.

The flash wouldn't be as bright and the only thing the fish need to be worried about is the supersonic pressure wave and the small amount of radiation, the tsar bomba actually is a really clean nuclear weapon compared to its yield

3:08 when you would detonate a nuclear bomb at a depth 11km it makes just a few hot bubbles on the surface. Because the pressure is so high that the explosion would immidiatly collapse because of the high pressure. And no this is not the end of the world as many expect

Fun fact: The Czar Bomba was the cleanest nuclear detonation... ever, by any country. By clean I mean least amount of nuclear radioactive fallout (97% if memory serves). Also, the bomb dropped on Hiroshima was 15 KILO-tons equivalent of TNT, which 15 thousand tons. You said MILLION, which equates to 15 MEGATONS, which is a quite significant difference.

As I recall, Bomba was 25 megatons, rated for 50, but to ensure less fallout and allow the dropping aircraft to survive, the uranium tamper was removed and a lead tamper used in its place. That said, nukes aren't really all that scalable, as beyond that level, the fireball literally departs the atmosphere, doing less damage on the ground. A bit of trivia, I was born a week after that insane device was detonated. Between that and other atmospheric testing, I'm literally more radioactive than my children are, verified during an I-131 test on my thyroid during the background radiation test on my bones. Which explains my superpowers, as I have a unique ability to make both food and money disappear instantly. ;)

@@spvillanoClose it was supposed to be 100 megaton but the cut the amount in half and it was 50 megaton. They had fears it would set the atmosphere on fire from the intense thermonuclear heat. Even after cutting it half the pilot only had a 50% chance of survival.

@@crandonborth the fear of setting the atmosphere off was present at the Manhattan Project as well, although that was a minority view and calculations suggested that couldn't happen. Just as insane and impressive, Tsar Bomba weighed in at 60000 pounds and the bomber that dropped it carried it half in and half out of the fuselage. Oh, the US had one TN warhead that was cleaner than everyone else's model. Of course, that's been retired. The B-41 was far more efficient and cleaner, it was also a hell of a lot lower yield.

It would probably cause a Tsunami, which would hit nearby islands, probably including Guam, and The Northern Marianas (both U.S. Territories, The Phillipines, Taiwan, perhaps China; Japan, and Russia, with lesser Tsunamis, across all The Pacific. Detonating one, in a Hurricane, might TEMPORARILY disrupt it; but is more likely, to intensify it, by adding additional heat energy (not to mention, radioactive fallout.
