Try stick+on artificial fingernails. They work great for me. You trim them how you need them and when you are doing things that long finger nails get in the way or look weird, just peal them off. I find that I can reapply them a number of times, plus they are cheap, my favorite feature!! Your are really getting great and you inspire me to practice more.

Love the late 1800s look, and the sound seems just right for your style of clawhammer. Having an instrument like that is bound to give you a boost: really pleased that it's made its way to you.

The nuances you can get out of this banjo are incredible. Your sound seems crisper and the differences in the volume/attack of each strum are much more apparent-much more dynamic and exciting to listen to. And with the weight, such a rich tone! That’s an heirloom, congrats again on another great new instrument!

Dr. Phoebe, Bruce has a nice "snap" to the sound of the strings. I do not know how to better describe what I am hearing. My Takamine EN10C acoustic/electric guitar (Emmylou) has the "secret code" position markers. I like that look. Thanks for the great demo dose, Doc! ❤❤❤❤❤

Congratulations on the new banjo(s)! This one is especially beautiful and sounds great. Glad to see you're getting the recognition you deserve for bringing so much banjo joy to us. Now you just need tackhead and mountain banjos and you'll pretty much have the gamut. Oh wait, there's also Irish tenor, with fretted and fretless in each of those, and in all the different scale/neck lengths... I think you need a new and bigger shed!
