Yeah I had issues with differentiating the shades of blue and had to redo steps as well. It didn't help I was using dim dinning room lighting during the nighttime either. Thought I was losing my vision but now that I'm hearing other people had a similar experience, I don't feel as bad!

I have started, and am about half way through. I was so surprised as to how small the intruction booklets were! Then I noticed, most steps are "x2", "x4" all the way up to "x48", which was mad 😅 Definitely a build I'm taking slowly. It's beautiful though, 100% worth it

I wouldn't say it was difficult, but it was a bit tedious. Building the cherry blossom bonsai had quite a bit of repetitive steps, since basically all the leaf assemblies were identical.

My most difficult build so far has been the Dune Royal Atreides Ornithopter. The mechanisms that got the wings to fold in and out and flap at the same time is some of the craziest lego engineering I've ever seen. It was an absolute pleasure to build it. I only took the thing apart because I was running out of room to place my speed champions cars and the midi-scale starship builds lol.

Some Technic sets are difficult because of some pieces, like gears and others, one slight mistake and all gets jammed ! The big Star Wars sets kinda fall in that category too. But you know and everbody does too, it is amazingly satisfying to assemble them and watch them "grow piece by piece"

I can tell you every time I have built one of the 1:8 scale technic super cars I have finished the steps for transmission only to find an extra gear after those bags are done. On the *Creator 10214 Tower Bridge,* 556 of the 4300 bricks are 1x1 cheese slopes that have to be placed on 48 plate assemblies. There's also 230 1x1 bricks, 160 1x1 bricks with studs on side, 230 1x1 plates, and many more little plates. There's almost no "full bricks" in the entire build. The two towers are identical. The build was exciting though. I unbuilt it once, and rebiult it the following year. Still a great experience. Also, _it didn't come with numbered bags._
@matthewkuscienko4616

I have to agree: the end result looks great, but with how many small pieces it has, it's a hard build to get through. Personally, unlike you, however, I have no desire to take it apart and rebuild again -- while I can usually finish a set in a day, even with close to as many pieces as the tower bridge has, the shear number of small parts had it taking me 3 days to complete. Having numbered bags would have helped for sure

I just did that last year with the Lego Bugatti Chiron. I mainly do system sets, and I wanted to try a complex Technic set. I even said, I have experience too, because I've already built the exact same car in Studio a few years ago. Well, the virtual build was a nightmare (especially the spoiler at the back), but the real life build itself was hard. I spent like about 24 hours in 3 separate parts, to assembly the car. But it's ready, and I think I'm never going to take apart. :D Hell, I even thought about it, how do I replace the rubber bands in the gear shift mechanism, if they snap years later...? :D

From my memory the most complex set I remember was the 2008 Star Wars: The Clone Wars V-19 Torrent starfighter because it used gears and air shocks so that the two wings on the side and landing gear would fold up or down with the main wing in the middle that hinged up and down. I remember I did something wrong with the gears because the wings would only fold out about 3/4 the way before getting stuck. That was little me's first foray into the magic and problems of technic parts and gear ratios.

Just be glad they put all of those 144 studs on the Eiffel Tower in a single step.....imagine they would have done just 2 or 3 per step like they usually do..... As for those stickers on the Space Shuttle, I just didn't even bother. These stickers were bad enough in their own right, but what makes it even worse that they don't include even a single spare. I actually didn't use any of the stickers in the set, as the other ones were pretty terrible too, with that white background that doesn't match the plastic at all. It's a great set, but it's a shame that unlike with the Saturn V, they didn't go for all prints here.

On 42009, the mobile crane, I transposed a free spinning gear for a fixed gear. I didn’t become aware of the error until the end of the build and i was a part short whilst I had the similar piece left over. Being as the mistake was buried deep in the drive train, I never fixed it. The outriggers have to moved manually but its a small price to pay.

Believe it or not, I find repetitive builds really chill and relaxing. I use a sorting tray and set up an assembly line, with a favorite playlist in the background. It is pure bliss.😁 Now, I have very poor eyesight, difficulty distinguishing certain colors, AND not the greatest manual dexterity. But Lego has been very therapeutic, as well as rewarding. The NES and typewriter were a couple of my favorite builds because I was actually able to get all their moving parts to work properly.🤣 The Pac-Man set was a blast as well, even though assembling and placing those 64 dots left me with very sore fingertips! 🤣 But seeing these sets displayed proudly on my shelves makes all the discomfort worth it.

gotta say, while they aren’t as hard as many of the sets in this video, i thought the pac-man machine and globe sets were pretty repetitive, and the ‘Doms dodge charger’ car and the NES (mostly the tv) were pretty complex. i still haven’t figured out what i did wrong on that tv, but it definitely doesn’t work how it’s meant to.

Great Video, I have had some of the sets here, and one that particularly stands out, was the shuttle, and those %*#$ing stickers, as take my word, they were a right pain! I almost gave up putting them on, it was that bad, though I did finish it in the end. As for the most difficult set, there are a few that made the list, but one that stands out was a pneumatic truck set, although I don't remember the number, it took ages to get the workings to move like they were supposed too as I found out later that the instructions weren't printed right. Eventually, It took me over 5 days to make that set, so yes it's that one.
