I would like to see a similar high-quality video about shaders in VulkanMod. Collateral is working on brand a new system that will replace the OptiFine's legacy (ShaderMod codebase is like 15 years old) and bring a new performant way to run shaders on Vulkan to Minecraft.

I remember when Iris didn't even have the option to edit shaders options. I'm glad I moved over to Fabric way back when it came to making modpacks for me and my friends to play on.

@tsuketsu9889 there isn't much you can get out of minecraft in terms of fps. Making it better would basically mean copying sodium and iris... and at that point... just use sodium and iris lol. Would love it being a real competitor again, but I doubt it's gonna happen without just copying what sodium and iris are doing. And it's doubtful even that is possible without a (at least) major rewrite of the code lol

Off topic from iris Distant Horizons is so buggy It worked like a dream, now it has dark patches after I updated a whole bunch of my mods in a new copy profile in Modirinth And it doesn’t complete the LODS now since my new cobblemon mod profile was synced to my original one Problems seem to go away with every patch to Distant Horizons gets released

If you have a nvidia graphics card that is gtx 1600 series or newer, you can use nvidium. It’s a lot better than distant horizons with the same features

Try the “Simply Optimized” modpack or the “Adrenaline” modpack. They will fix most performance problems.

i have sues gfme hrr 2.1.i have no choice but to use optifine to run that. i dont get optifine or iris to get shaders. its the other way around, maybe one day iris will be as good. i just dont want to spend hours combining iris and a bunch of other mods just to have the same results with the better grass, the zoom, further render distance, better ui, just for examples. it breaks with my texture pack and shaders i use for some blocks. and get this i already did all that to make it parody with optifine and i get the same fps... i felt like all i did was waste my time, no extra fps, have to get lat least 5 or more mods just to be the same and even after fixing all that it still has broken issues with my shader. honestly so annoying idk why i even tried. oh ya everyone saying its so great, but its not good for the best setup. the way i see it rn optifine is the max graphics and iris is max optimization at the loss of quality. its quality or fps. im not a developer and most of us arent and dont care we just want thing to work. smooth brain learn to run best graphics then people confuse him with fabric and optifine when they still feel like a beta. goes back to what works and gives up on new thing thats supposed to be better.
