The most efficient and effective way to come out of the starting blocks (push /pull /pump)
Feet- fully pressed up against the blocks for maximum force and explosiveness
Hands- should be behind the line and directly below your shoulders, this way you can quickly and effectively bring them from off the ground into the proper pumping position.
Arms- the initial pump is much more exaggerated than the pumps that will follow, the initial pump will still follow the cheek to cheek coaching que, but much more exaggerated.
Level of hips/butt- Butt and hips should be slightly above the shoulders so that your weight distribution is forward.
What my feet do- front leg pushes for full extension, back leg also pushes, but a much quicker push right into a pull/Drive.
What I’m thinking (Front leg push/Back leg pull/ Arms pump)

Excellent, I'm glad you mentioned about pushing with both feet. Now I know. A lot of other coaches do not teach this detail. They also don't teach the details of the motion of the front leg at full velocity. I.e. is it a stamping motion or is it a stamp and simultaneous glute pull to swing leg back.

Depending how close the pedals are and the event. 400m not so much especially if you are on top of the curve in the 200m

Not bad but I would at least lift up the back block to help with the start. At 'set' (which should be held for longer) both heels are off the block meaning when the gun goes the heels are actually travelling backwards - that's not good. Arm split is pretty good.

These blocks are non adjustable, and naturally pretty low. They're not like the professional blocks. I see what you mean though 👌🏾

Front leg is supposed to push the most and the back leg pushes a bit but not as much and should be quicker so you can take the next step

@@aidenbooker1215that doesn’t mean anything. Do you have a foot you can’t “jump off of”? It’s not like “which hand do you write with”, it’s more like “which hand do you lift weights with”. The fact that the person has to ask, should tell you there’s no simple answer. There’s no such thing as a dominant leg in bipedal activities. Which foot is put where is dependent on the athlete’s choice at the time, most athletes change multiple times over their careers at every level.
