What this thing needs is to be connected to an air duct in the wall. In summer, fans could be set to push air directly out of the house, with an option to easily reverse the flow during winter.
@4Core10016 сағат бұрын
Depends where you live. Radiator wont heat freezing air enough. Just mount it outside at that point. Into shade ofcourse. Fill it with antifreeze...
@TheStigma13 сағат бұрын
It would be far easier and more efficient to run the water through the wall to the radiator outside. You only need some small holes that could be patched at a later point, or even just capped/plugged together with some insulation if not in use. All you need for that is mainly just sufficient pump pressure, which you can take care of with either a bigger pumpe - or serial standard pumps. Ducting tends to be very inefficient and have a lot of resistance - doubly so if you need to reduce this much flow into a more normal duct size.
@KillFrenzy9613 сағат бұрын
It would be far more effective to place the entire radiator inside/outside. When you blow air out of the house (in summer), it creates negative pressure which would cause hot air from outside to be sucked into the house from elsewhere. If you place the entire radiator outside, you will avoid creating this negative pressure. For winter, you may as well keep the entire radiator inside the house. It's more efficient to heat up the already warmer air inside your house, compared to heating up the cold air from outside. Additionally, blowing air into the house creates positive pressure, which will push warm air out of the house.
@eawblablatron916112 сағат бұрын
In fact there are ppl in colder climates that they have the rad outsideb always. Imagine the oc possibilities.
@hugevibez11 сағат бұрын
@@KillFrenzy96 Yeah that's how they do watercooling or cooling in general at datacenters, precisely to keep the inside air cool. For watercooling you have 3 loops, one is in the rack going to a heat exchanger to the second loop (aka facility water, which is also used to transfer heat from radiators behind aircooled servers) going to another heat exchanger to a third loop going to a finstack outside of the facility. Usually the heat exchange, and the volume of water inside the loop, is enough to cool the servers and often the finstack is barely used outside of peak load scenarios. With a datacenter you have to look at the entire building as if it's one PC, if you have so many servers just moving ambient air around you really don't have the efficiency needed to properly cool them and you will end up with runoff heat, heating up the entire facility. When you are starting to look at radiator's like this, you are definitely dealing with a power usage high enough to make a room unbearably warm (and thus less efficient or maybe even insufficient at cooling), so this same concept still applies.

I've never really understood the MO-RA, it's just bruteforcing an inefficient radiator design, condensers are only built like that because non-round tubes would blow out under high pressure, but round tubes have poor surface area to volume ratio and are more restrictive to airflow, hence why every low pressure automotive radiator and heater core uses flat channels. What size properly made radiator would provide similar performance to a MORA 600?
@sirmonkey198516 сағат бұрын
it's the cool factor but it's more so about water volume and less about efficiency. either way the mora exists for the same reason intel releases KS processors, or amd releasing X processors even though all of them are unlocked, etc, etc. can you use something cheaper? yes, does everyone want to do that? no.

The power cable to the iCue hub is simply 6 pin pcie cable to 6pin single row micro-fit connector - you can quite easily make custom one, the data usb 2.0 in one side and micro usb on the other, while making custom cable with micro USB might not be easy (but it's still possible), maybe just create your own custom internal USB 2.0 extension cable. All you need are wires crimps, crimper and connectors and maybe sleeves/heatshrinks. All of those are available in MDPC-X maybe not the microfit 6 pin single row but you can get them from some place else.

on top of what Simon said.. watercool was the company that took the DIY junkyard car radiator concept a lot of us were doing in 2000 and made it accessible and user friendly for everyone. yeah it's expensive but you might want to check on car radiator prices, lol.

@@sirmonkey1985 Also pretty much all of the car radiators are made of aluminium which I wouldn’t mix with anything else in PC watercooling regardless of what coolant I’m using.
@AlexeyDyachenko14 сағат бұрын
@@Simon_Denmark Aluminium should be fine with PC coolant, though?
@alkestos14 сағат бұрын
@@Simon_Denmark Except pretty much all AIOs being aluminium rads and stuff...

My MORA 360 continues to excel in cooling my gaming rig. Because of the issues you are having now I skipped RGB for my fans. I have two pumps also w/3m of edp tubing. I also included a washable almost HEPA air filter to keep the fins clean. I hope it still holds after you fill it. Those wall mount screws don't look stout enough. You should find a wall stud to attach them too.
@marcogenovesi857014 сағат бұрын
I'm pretty sure the drywall is not strong enough to hold this with the water weight too. You are treating the american paper walls like they were german brick/cement walls, you have to find the wooden studs behind the paper wall and screw into those if you want it to hold heavy weight like that
@krisztianpap901511 сағат бұрын
I agree that those studs won't hold too long, but the water weight doesn't do too much difference. The rad weight is 16 kg, res + d5 expansions around 2.2 kg + 3 pumps + 16 fans (don't know the weight) so it is at least 20-22kg. The coolant will add around 3kg only.

This is really cool! It always blows me away that Corsair can make such nice fans, but they have the literal worst software I have ever used...Every time I open iCUE it is a crap shoot whether or not any of my controllers are detected...I normally have to do exactly what you did, open and close it like 10 times and eventually it will randomly start working, just not for very long!

Will you hide cables and pipes in wall with some quick connects ?

With that many LEDs I would probably run WLED. I just got some cheap ARGB fans to have a sim rig cooling (for VR play), and took 10 minutes to figure the number of LEDs on the fan, the pinout, and flash WLED on an ESP32 and control the LED with it. My iCUE keeps disappearing. The exe disappears about once a month :O. A friend (and a lot of people on-line) have the same issue. I love Corsair hardware, but at this point I do not trust iCUE looking after my temps, because sometimes it's just not there. I think an automatic update keeps failing for some reason. Next time I have to reinstall, I will try to make the exe read only. :O

I hardly like videos on YT, but this is one I will make an exception. Having a MoRa 420 myself when I saw the 600 I said wow. (yet there are some other companies offering 2000 dollar solutions (for servers). . After thinking about it though, I believe the smallest MoRa would be my next project where I would dump my ddr4 system so as to use the 420 for a ddr5 system.

For the iCUE, what I personally do is to switch the memory mode slider back and forth and RGB works. I'm thinking for 200 or 400 MO-RA, I would really like one of those. Good luck with the project.

If you have a swimming pool or spa, then piping in water via a pump (gravity feed) is even more effective. You will need to use plumbing into your house to achieve such wonderful cooling. A visual flow device is the only maxim. A radiator with fans is for remote cooling.

Reading the comment section, Corsair has really fallen of their throne. Their whole eco system is getting bashing from people that have their products. Corsair you need a big change in 2025!

Sheesh i thought the older ones by a different brand were kinda expensive these are nuts

now thats some next level hardware love to see it, I just wouldn't trust that wall to hold so much weight with only 4 screws hahahah
@radugrigoras11 сағат бұрын
More pumps is for more pressure. The longer the piping inside the radiator and outside the more pressure you need to generate to maintain the flow.
