Honda was kind enough to invite me out for the U.S. Press Launch of the 2022 Honda Navi.
Honda did cover my flight to LA and Hotel, however they did not pay me to say anything about the bike, I was not told what I could and could not say about the bike. These opinions are my own.
Yes. I still want one.

The Honda Activa is almost like the default national scooter of India. Used by all age groups - from commuting to mom's ferrying kids to lug groceries and farm produce in the villages, the Activa is bullet proof reliable. Oh, and much love from Bangalore, India.

This thing looks like a load of fun, and actually pretty practical for smaller trips to the store with that little storage space! That 110mpg may come in handy with the way gas prices are going right now. 😂

@onesadtech
@onesadtech 2 жыл бұрын
@@VodkaStudios777 honestly if you are comparing bikes to cars or bigger you're gonna see way better MPG with most bikes versus cars. You're just carrying around less metal with ya. These little Navi's have a decent weight capacity and would be fine around town for most folks, but if you wanna reach highway speeds easily no matter the rider weight (within reason) I would look into anything in the 300-600cc range. You should still get good MPG there without sacrificing much speed/acceleration. Hope this helps, it's a bit of a broad subject with a lot of variables. If you want a couple new models to look at in that range I would check out the MT03 from Yamaha or maybe a Honda CB300 or CB500. ☺️

I love how Honda is starting to offer automatic motorcycles across the range. We have the NC700/750, Africa Twin, Rebel 1100 and now this little guy, the Navi. Would be interesting to see them making other mid-size bikes (250-600cc). Anything to get more people riding and enjoying life on two wheels!

As much as I love the visceral control (and fun!) a manual transmission gives you, most people just don't want that, just enthusiasts. If America is going to have more motorcyclists, then the motorcyclists have to be automatic.

I'm glad Honda recognized you're an important influencer and wanted you to check out the Navi. I started riding when Nixon was president on a Honda S 90, so I'm an old geezer. My first new bike was a 1970 Honda Trail 70. I have a GL1800 Goldwing, a KTM 690 Enduro and have owned lots of bikes. I bought a Grom a year ago to ride 5 miles back and forth to work just for fun. I watched the KiwiGrom folks ride the TAT and I had to have one. At 6 feet tall and 260 pounds I get a few laughs but I tell them I can get back and forth to work for less than a dollar a week and they shut up pretty quick. The Grom is great fun around town and secondary roads here in Arkansas but it isn't so great on gravel or singletracks. The suspension is short and it bottoms out too easily. The Navi, like the Grom looks like a great little bike for its intended purpose. It would beat you to death off-road. I'd bet the Navi would be perfect for the student who needs cheap transportation on campus and around town. It's a Honda so you can bet it is reliable and well engineered. Thanks for the review!

I love the idea of this motorcycle and having it as a second or third bike to poke around town, and as something I can coax my wife and daughters to ride on ;) The Steady Garage custom one they had on display at IMS was definitely an "I WANT THAT" moment for me, and the low price would make this a fun project to make a bike my own without breaking the bank. Thanks for sharing, and again, it was wonderful to see you!

I have thought about buying a golf cart to get around town but this thing is cheaper than a used golf cart that I would have to put lights on and mirrors to make street legal. Great review Amanda! When you have kids all who want to ride bikes, the Navi is a great entry point to get them confidence on the road. Less stress for mom and dad, when they have the need for speed. Then you can upgrade to the manual and higher CC for them if they have the maturity to do so.

These look great. However, I don’t think any dealers near me in central Florida will sell these for sticker price without a markup. I was told at a local Honda dealer and even a Kimco shop that every new bike had an add on sticker. The Honda dealer wouldn’t even tell me what that additional amount was without speaking to a manager. They said it varies depending on the model. The $1800 Kimco I looked at had a $600 dealer fee attached. That represents a 45% markup over retail. I politely laughed and wished them a good day on the way out the door.

He asked me if I would be interested in riding my own bike or trying to ride. I have been steadfast with a firm no… to scared with a clutch and uncomfortable with riding my own bike. Well he showed me the Navi videos and for the first time I agreed to try something different out. It looks so fun and gonna spread my wings and try riding. He ordered a nut brown Navi for me that is expected to be delivered February or March this year 2022 at our local dealership. I will do some videos demonstrating a completely new rider for others that are frady cats like me. I think the automatic sold me. Wish me luck, I’ve never wanted to ride but this little bike and your video gave me confidence. Thanks girlfriend!

I chanced upon these video from suggested reels by KZbin and I found your take on riding bikes in general very refreshing indeed. Here in Malaysia, where I stay, these category of small gear-free scooters are immensely popular as get-abouts for many people who can't afford a car (cars are expensive here in this country) but still need a small motorised vehicle for inter-city travel. They do not have this model here but I hope Honda will bring it to our Southeast Asian market as it looks very practical on our traffic chocked urban roads. Keep the great videos coming from a new subscriber here to your channel. Have a very happy new year ahead as well.

End Screen Crew, Back when I had a J.O.B. I saw a video, The Road Is Life - Honda Ruckus. That was when I started falling in love with the idea of disappearing on America's back roads on something slow, off the freeways. The price point is amazing for an entry bike. The Ruckus is more. To shift or not to shift, that was question. It depends on the person, on the confidence level. One girl got her license on a 250 Suzuki. After months of riding everyday she got a 2007 Harley Sportster. Another started out on an automatic scooter before graduating to a regular motorcycle. It's mostly about confidence, and then the mission, budget, insurance, etc. It would be great if Honda could make a great trade in deal for riders who build their confidence on the Navi and within a certain time period, 6 months or 10 months, could trade in their scooter for their first Honda motorcycle.

Great video Amanda. I think the NAVI is a good step for Honda. It’s super approachable size, lower seat height, price wise. I think it’s a definite step up from a scooter. We have a 2021 Honda Super Cub, it’s such a fun bike to ride around town. I have a 2020 Yamaha MT-07 for full on fun and any kind of distance. For me, the Monkey or Grom, especially the 2022 versions would be more appealing than the NAVI. Update, 12/4/2021. My partner and I decided this is the perfect bike for her. We ordered our NAVI in Grasshopper Green today. We will get one of the first two that are coming into our town. It is supposed to ship from Honda on 01/28/2022. We hope to have it home very early in February. We are so excited.

AW Thank you Joe! I really appreciate that! Right?! on both counts. (although, keep my secret? I kind of want to ride a Standard now to be able to compare how it handles compared to the Super Sport XD I'm just curious how much extra top heavy weight the extra gas makes)

As a rider when I was a younger man who would like to dip my toe back into it, this would be great for running around town and even putting on the back rack of the camper to take with us on summer camping trips. I am going to check one of these out.

Great review! I own a crf250L and would consider buying the Navi as a fun intro bike for friends to try and/or as a bike to completely re-style into a fun steampunk or wasteland weekend event bike. That price point makes it very inviting! But what I really want to know...when do we get your Africa Twin review video?!?! 😁

I just acquired a grasshopper green 22 Navi with 800 miles on it. My wife has a Can Am Spyder with no clutch. She has kinda been interested in trying two wheels,but a few rides on my Suzuki Van Van left her feeling a bit overwhelmed learning the clutch. Her first ride on the Navi went great. She was totally comfortable and in control. The bike fits her well and she wanted to keep going and going. She also had a feeling of accomplishment because she was out on the road on two wheels and really enjoying it. I did get to try it out and I would definitely commute on the Navi. Seeing her take to that bike with a smile means Honda is accomplishing their mission. And after owning several bikes in my 30 years of riding,I can say that it appeals to me as well.

Loved the joy for the Africa Twin. ;) End screen Question…. I’m biased to another brand which has convinced me on the value of having a small displacement bike in the fold. Doing the errands, running around town on a light bike is a blast! CVT transmission is a bonus in this application. I will stick with my Vespa, I have taken it off road with standard tires and it does the job admirably. I find it an excellent companion to my ST1100. If I didn’t have a Vespa, I would consider the Navi…given the price point it’s a no brainer.

I love CVTs for ultra small CC scooters and bikes. Definitely makes them more usable. I was anti CVT a scooter with a CVT and I overrated the hp by almost double because it felt a lot faster than the brochure said it was.

I started on a 50cc Vespa, my wife had a 50cc Buddy. We have since moved to a PCX 150 and a Forza 300. As a starter motorcycle, the Navi initially looks pretty reasonable, but I think the PVC with its larger wheels and a bit more power would be better. Wins in storage space as well. The Navi is cute, yes, but realistically no more useful than the Vespa 50 was. Price is fantastic though. Just a quick 2 cents

Where I live (Southern California) the dealers are advertising the motorcycles as MSRP, then jacking up the price - way up. Went to pick up a Honda Monkey that was being held for me a few weeks ago and had to tell them to keep it because I don't pay for extortion. Expected a $200-300 markup, but $1500+ for a $4199 bike is ridiculous. Hard to believe they won't try to do the same for these. (Yes - they had jacked up the price of a Monkey to $5828!!!)

You are riding in one of my favorite areas. Grew up going to the beach there and still ride my CB1100 down there after flying through Ortega. I am impressed that Honda is going after this market. Seems like it would be good for cruising around small towns or mobile home parks.

At $1800 with a 110cc engine I can see Honda selling tons of these. I started riding on a brand new Rebel 250 and loved the in town riding and think I’m gonna buy one of these to fill that gap.

HA! 1986 Rebel 250 here! 75 mpg when gas was 75 cents per gallon...good times!!! Once I ran out of gas, pushed it to the gas station. All I had was a quarter but that 1/3 gallon of gas got me 25 miles!

It could totally handle dirt roads. My Grom has pent more time off pavement than on. These little bikes are just a hoot to rip around in the woods. As a bonus, they are so small you can ride them on elk trails. I have had my Grom in place I couldn’t get my xr250.

I've been to a Honda dealership in Colombia a little shy of 2 years and have checked out a black NAVI. what struck me is the price! The MSRP in the U.S. as stated is $1807.00 in Colombia it was less than $500 brand new! A colleague of mine who happens to be a motorcycle driving instructor has a Grom and lend it to me so I could have a go at it. It was very fun to drive.

I´m from latin america and the NAVI is very popular here specially in overcrowded cities with lots of cars and tiny streets, also you spend less in gas, if this is your first motorcycle and you´re a little afraid of the road you´re gonna love this bike, it´s soy easy and fun to use

Heck, it wouldn't be that hard of a conversion, considering e-scooters exist. Tthere's space for a battery pack right there (you'd loose the cubby, but heck, go hot-swappable while you're at it). it would probably have more acceleration, too as carbureted engines have to be starved to meet emissions and it's not got all the power it really could.
