According to the wiki, on average, each run gives rewards equal to that of 696 gold. 53 in 8192 players will get 12 wins. Hence, we can calculate the average price of the skin. 53/8192 multiplied by the cost of the skin is equal to 1000-696. This gives us the cost of the skin as almost 47000 gold. If you're willing to spend 47000 gold on this skin and are decently good at the game, it's a good idea to enter the Brawilseum.

That value you arrived would be an average of sorts. Some people could get the skin in much less runs and some wouldn't get it in a hundred runs. However, there's a hidden variable that is the win rate of the deck you are playing vs the decks you are playing against. If you don't have a strong meta deck, it wouldn't be viable to play the brawliseum at all...

That's actually very wrong. Most of that "696 gold value" is for dust and cards. Cards are worth 1/4 now since you already have them and disenchant gives 1/5 or 1/4. Also dust should be worth half the value as you can often get 2 dust by spending one gold. At the end of day you only get roughly 200 gold value back on average. Compare to normal Arena mode, you are paying the price of 10 runs to get the reward of 2 to 3 runs.

Blizzard is both greedy and quite stupid. Imagine they change the condition of "12 wins in a single run" into "12 wins in all runs". That way it's still more than 40 dollars per player. And there will be way more players attend the brawl this way.

(Beta player) I never liked this brawl from day 1, it feels like a gold sink with a very slim chance to gain a little more and with a LOT of luck a lot more. I feel like this brawl is only for ppl who play HS for hours per day or streamers.

If you can get 1000 gold's worth of resources off of 3 wins, I'd participate. But as it stands, you'll need at least 5 wins, which is unreasonable. I think a 50% win rate to break even is fair.

I had to google it but yes, there is skill involved in gambling which means the Heroic Brawliseum is the most expensive form of it in HS, especially for F2P players

I really enjoy the Heroic Tavern Brawl. Not because I will play it, but because you can see the streamers showcase their skills at the highest level. The hero skin is not even high quality. It wasn’t even supposed to be there, it’s like a bonus. I do like that it’s very exclusive, and just the most pro players will ever get it. It’s just a cosmetic, it won’t give players an advantage. I’m disappointed in Zeddy for crying so much about not getting a skin. You can’t just buy your way to getting everything. And remember it’s just an offer. You can just say no when others will say yes and continue to play a free to play game. Love your videos Mathematician!!

I think Activision-Blizzard knows about players who will definitely pay with their backhanded methods. It doesn't target the rest of the players with less income and may find that amount of money irrelevant compared to those who will already pay. Even so, it is a practice that is usually criticized and even deplorable (as has been the case with Activision for several years now). Also, it seems that the competition in the field is looking to repeat methods rather than innovate in the smartphone market, which could mean that they are profitable regardless of what happens to the players in the long term.

I also miss the opportunity to by a single skinfor gold from time to time, as they once did. Also why not give players who reach legend more than just a pack? As I reached legend once and got my legendary I see no sence in doing this again just for one pack. I don‘t have much time to playand doing most of time just the quests. But if it would be worth, I would try to get legend more often. They could give away a special skin (but good ones, not that cheap stuff like for finish reward track) or some of the old ones for every third time players get legend f.e.

Last time when it was up was my first time participating in it, and I won 12-2 with a murocks shaman net deck. It was very hard and really RNG dependant... the time I've lost was against an UH DH on turn 4 and the other against beast hunter with manacheated (discounted) colossal on turn 5. I will not participate in more of these.

Reason why Scarlet was so important is because DK had literally 2 skins that F2P can use: Stock and 1000 wins one. But reason why Sai worse than Scarlet is because of he's art and special interactions with card's. (He have less of them and they sound bleak vs Scarlet's).

The worst part about this is that some streamer or another is going to showcase a 12-win run, which will inevitably cause a few unlucky souls to try their luck, and of course waste 1000 gold. There are time I wonder if Blizzard sets some of these up, or otherwise encourages them to be more positive. You get a false sense of enjoyment from watching them. I recently criticized Trump (the HS player) for this, because he too often only shows the successful runs, which gives the impression that it can be a fun mode to play. I understand that drafting a mediocre deck and getting clapped 3 times with no chance of even participating is not fun to watch, I think it is important to witness these moments, because they outnumber the good ones considerably.

At least Scarlet one look and sound good. AND she is NOT from canceled mercenary from Mercenaries. I am F2P and i love her skin, but on Sai i will pass. (And because they will put old skin with animations in shop so they can syphon more gold and i definetly will want it more). So to All F2P who want Sai skin it will cost you ~2000-3000 gold at minimum, so do it only if you REALLY like it. (Like me with Scarlet skin)

prices are a complete joke: 7€ for a picture that you cannot see properly becouse it's 90pixel*90pixel. (*you cant know at a glance what you are playing against with the new heroes) 25€ for "legendary" hero portrait with year-2000s level animations. signature cards that are pay-to-get, you dont know what you are looking at and what that does. hearthstone started as a game for teenagers and then went into toddlers market with colourful clowns, bland quotes, and uninspiring themese. to make money they can start firing all the art designers, and start with fantasy style cards, not orcs with guitars. second, draw cards and hero portraits one can understand at first glance, like the "song spells" of this expansion that are so full of details and it's impossible to know for certain what's in there. but mostly, stop making cards as a "funny reference" to the real world (enthusiastic banker, a bored banker, package runner, a rugby player, such staples of wow).

Second, make animations 30% faster, make the autosquelch button, redo all the hero quotes in a way that they don't sound passive -aggressive and make them say something with meaning, not just hello. Ecc. Game is a mess, devs and developers have absolutely no idea what they are doing and minus 3billions inspiration. Executives have no idea what are selling, to whom, what's the value... The only thing that keeps people here are the effects of the cards, which have been mostly cool last couple+years.

Too much stuff game feels boated too many skins. There a few I’ll buy but they just are so many now. Where is the regular solo adventures. Books of heroes feel like such a slog not worth the reward. 2500 wins on mage but haven’t unlocked death knight. The multi player gets rage inducing after a while. I would be willing to pay up to $60 dollars for good solo content but they just don’t pump it out instead they offer us slots. Mercs felt like solo content but way overboard and failed hard. If they put it out for $60 and you could unlock every character but easier it would have been better.

This distinction between “free to play” and “premium” players is absurd. The “premium” players are the actual players. If you care enough about something that you enjoy listening to robot voices on KZbin do math about it but you can’t spend money on it you are either a child, or you have much more pressing things you need to be doing than playing card games
