Look as a Scorpion/Mileena main I hate her killing off my 2 favorite characters. However unlike Hsu Hao,Jarek and others she's a very interesting character with a really sick design,an impressive moveset and fatalites/brutalities that I can't just fault her that much. If it was NRS intention to made this character to be hated then they did their job, and I mean out of all the jobbers in MK so far none of them were able to successfully defeat/killed the good guys/opponents until D'vorah came along. If Baraka,Ermac or even Reptile were to kill off anybody like Kung Lao,Sonya,Jax or any of the good guys fans will be pissed regardless. Also BTW not everyone hates D'vorah, Honeybee is one that comes to mind.

My only issue with her is that she should’ve died to past young specter Scorpion during his chapter in the story since she doesn’t even appear again afterwards or in the aftermath story so logically there was literally no reason to allow her to escape other than the writer being biased for whatever reason.

What made me so upset with Dvorah killing Future Scorpion is that it was a Scorpion that FINALLY had a character after MK9 with MKX. I’m so tired of the revenge filled Scorpion in every media of Mortal Kombat. It seemed like they were going to let Scorpion grow. But then he was killed by Dvorah. And we were stuck with a past version of Scorpion that was pretty much at square 1

D'vorah has all the markings of a bad fanfiction character. - Shows up out of nowhere exhibiting abilities that no other character has shown up until this point. - Has an immense, ridiculous amount of power. Usually has powers that can solve every possible bad situation they encounter. - Cannot be killed. If killed in-story their return is implied. - Defeats all fan-favorite characters, as if that were to somehow prove they're a better character than them. - Is retroactively written into the established story so they're the ones who ended up in some shape or form responsible for the plot. This is what happens when a writer tries to force a character into being liked. The exact opposite thing ends up happening and everyone hates the character.

I don't see a problem with the first point. If they don't have something interesting and unique to bring to the table, why bother introducing them? All the characters in the series who failed are mostly ones that are rehashes of already established formulas, like Jarek, Hsu Hao, Dairou, etc.

The main problem with Dvorah is that the writers just used her for some major kills like Baraka, Mileena, and even Scorpion. Heck, some of the intro dialogues in MK11 mentioned that she also killed Jerrod. How does that even make sense!? Give some of those kills to Erron Black or Kollector!!!

I dislike Dvorah from a story standpoint. In my opinion, she is the new creator's pet that hurts the overall story. Because she is glory hoggin all the good kills, everyone else becomes jobbers. I don't hate D'Vorah for killing Mileena or Baraka, but I do specifically voice a problem with how the writers used her to kill Scorpion, as well as the retcon not making much sense. Like, for killing Hanzo, you could literally use any other character besides her. Like Bi-Han (and no, I didn't really get this from other people, I was one of the many people who thought of this. And can you blame anyone for thinking this?). She's treated like some wandering overpowered god that none of the characters (or writers) are going to care much for some reason. Also something about her voice and design kinda got on my nerves after a while.

The thing that gets me about the "Kiss of Death" scene... Mileena's signature weapons are her teeth. Her teeth, which are emphasized in MKX. So in what reality is it sensible to put your skull in clamping range of Mileena in the same game it's established she can crack it with one good chomp. To say nothing of your neck... It shouldn't have panned out that way at all. Someone, somewhere was just getting his/her jollies on a bug/Tarkatan make-out ending in a grisly face melting death. *shudder...*

My problem with D'Vorah is that despite her showing up at the same time as other cool characters, Erron Black and Kollector for example, she basically steals the spotlight and has some of the most major moments ever. Like she's even made important in the past and yet despite us finding out that other kombatants were also relevant back then in smaller roles, she's the one who the camera turns to! What about Erron Black's time as a mercenary or Kollector's work? Someone at Netherrealm must really have a hard on for her, cause there's no way she should be as relevant as she is.

In both story modes, she's the one who's given the most spotlight out of all the new outworld characters. I don't remember a single scene with Erron, Ferra Torr, Kollector and whoever else that I've forgotten about because the camera was directed towards D'Vorah.

I'm a huge Mileena fan, and my problem with D'vorah killing her isn't that she dies (this is MK after all, death doesn't mean THAT much) it's just that it's so anticlimactic. There is this build up of Mileena NOT being a suitable ruler for Outworld and even her own closest allies are wary and don't trust her... and then all of that is thrown out the window and she gets taken out in one of the lamest ways imaginable.

Dvorak from a design appearance standpoint is pretty great. She is very creative and unique compared to the rest of the cast of characters. I would’ve really enjoyed her being (very powerful) of the treated her as another gun for hire. If she really wanted to protect the hive, why is she partaking in any fight or event. They should’ve left her as a queen of her own region and when our mortal kombat events spill into her territory, then she gets hostile. This would make sense as killing hero’s or villains is nothing to her unless you provoke the hive like an actual hornets/bees nest. Making her a person who involuntarily injects herself into the events just seems redundant of what her character wants.

I think if Scorpion roasted her into dust before he died it would've been less insulting to the fans. When she stabbed him, he could've grabbed her and gone all "Flame on!" The timeline is (hopefully) getting reset anyway so it's not like her death would've meant she couldn't be in the next game. I really didn't like them injecting new characters into the MK1-3 era, like they were there all along... and even took part in the tournaments apparently. They even had D'Vorah taking credit for killing Jerrod - although this might just have been a lie to get to Kitana. I would actually really like D'Vorah had she not been an unstoppable force who is injected into every major event and death and is literally the one person to turn the tide on the villains gaining an upperhand / the heroes losing.

The fact that they let her get away so many times after beating her in certain parts of the story is really frustrating. Cause really, basically no one in this mk universe would. I think Kotal should shoulder some of the hate from Mileena's death. MK 9 retconned the entire series with Raiden making some massive changes to the timeline creating an opportunity for D'vorah to appear at any point. As for why Raiden didn't fry the bug swarm in the Arena, I'm pretty sure the lightning would've jumped to the people the bugs were swarming about.

I’ll add that additional huge reasons she’s disliked is because of her story and the retcon in MK 11; the fact that she killed Jerrod (katanas father) and now she was always a Shao Kahn ally instead of Shinnok or Kotal is just a total wtf in an unimpressive way…it wasn’t written as an “adapt to survive” way because dvorrah has no real monologues or plot twists about it, but rather its just shoved in our face to immediately accept as truth. The way I saw it, D'vorah wasn't actually a Shao Kahn ally. She was Kronika's ally and Shao was another ally and both had to work together to reach a common goal of helping Kronika eliminate Raiden and good Liu Kang. The Titan did seal those she deemed to be a threat to her plans in a separate dimension which explains why they didn't help in the first part of the MK 11 Story.

You see, I love insects - I am a huge Entomology enthusiast - so of course D'vorah became my baby as soon as I saw her, she has literally all the powers I always dreamed of seeing in a character, it was so gross, brutal and at the same time beautiful that when she proved to be such a failure it made me very sad. I wish she had been well written, just think of how cool it would be to see her fighting to protect her hive alongside the heroes in a change of heart. My disappointment also goes towards Skarlet, NRS worst decision is making all interesting characters be simple thugs that work for a big-bad-guy instead of developing their stories.

Design wise D'Vorah was always amazing. Even when they made her look more alien like in 11 her designs were still good. Lore wise she gets away with too much and being too strong at the weirdest times. As well as getting away with kills on fan favorites. I know the Baraka joke is that he's the eternal jobber. But don't forget he's been in every single MK game since his debut in 2. That's 2, 3, 4, deadly alliance, deception, Armageddon, and 2011. And then out of no where new character shows up and kills long standing main.

What I believe is that after Scorpion returned amongst the living he never got used to being mortal again since he still had his specter powers. So in a way he just kind of felt like he was still Scorpion, Specter of the Neatherrealm, but never worried about his mortality.

As someone who's favourite character is Mileena and just finds pretty much anyone she's killed I actually really like D'Vorah. I think that a character like Scorpion definitely shouldn't be killed by D'Vorah cause he's so incredibly skilled, even if characters like Mileena are also skilled I feel like that's fine. Apart from that though I really like having a character as strong as D'Vorah who is also an absolute wild card too. I like how manipulative she is too with things like how she seems to have had an affair with Kotal Kahn. I feel like a lot of problems with her though is just because of problems with the writing that isn't just to do with D'Vorah. I feel like a lot of characters suffer from randomly winning/losing in story mode. I do like the idea of "anyone can win a fight" but the times they do it are too off. It would be bad if they kept doing it, but if they just have a story reason after the fight, like you hit the final blow the cutscene triggers and theres some distraction, or someone else comes in to assist, that'd make a bit more sense. I'm honestly okay with D'Vorah, but I hope if they bring her back for MK1 they change her up a bit. She doesn't need to kill everyone, maybe the retcon would do her some good.

There’s a few flaws in the facts here; D’vorahs main goal was not preserve the hive, her main goal was to revive her endangered kind known as the kytin. And in an interaction in MKX and in the story of MK11 it’s revealed that shao Khan enslaved her kind and eventually burned the island they resided on. He did this because the kytin were known for being liars and schemers. All died except for D’vorah. D’vorah still pledged her allegiance to shao khan which confused him because he was responsible for the death of her kind and the the catalyst for her whole goal. Due to this he made her a low ranking servant and followed his orders whilst enduring extreme discrimination by shao khan and meleena. He also promised her the revival of the kytin if she did shao Kahn’s bidding(but he never planned on doing that). During their rules over out world dvorah eventually learned of Quan chis plan to release shinnok which was a higher master than shao or mileena and even when under Kotal. Now Ik people don’t understand why she jumps masters but the truth is in order for a kytin to be born they need a host body, and a powerful host means powerful kin; so when a elder god presents itself she’s gonna want to take advantage of that opportunity. Ofcourse she goes about this by lying and scheming but to me that speaks to her character and her devotion to the revival of her people(very similarly to kitana and Baraka when you think about it). Obviously things don’t go planned and shinnok perishes. Then mk11 happens and obviously kronika offers her a world without the kytins going endangered. So then she becomes an ally of Kronika. I think the argument that she killed your fav character is a lame one; but I will say they used dvorah poorly in mk11 and made her design less feminine and more buggish which IMO she was not lacking in the first. She was a great catalyst to events in mkx and even in mk11. One of the most unique characters but they need to utilize her aside from being a catalyst for scenes that everyone’s gonna remember. Mileenas death is super iconic, and scorpions death felt unnecessary in general. I just luv bug lady :3

I actually like D'vorah. She's cruel, she's smart and she's very good at what she does. She's dangerous and everyone knows how dangerous she is. And the writing in MK has never been consistent.

I personally like Dvorah because there has to be a character in every game/film you hate. Dvorah is perfect for that. Makes us think that our characters aren't safe whenever she's around. Adds some excitement

Simply she had plot armor if she had no plot armor then Scorpion would burn her until her skeleton is left. Johnny Cage would be able to rip her to literal shreds. Baraka would do the same thing as Johnny Cage. Mileena would have stabbed her to nothing left. Without plot armor she would be dead at first chapter.

I think that it would make sense for her to help Shinnok if she sees him in a "roko's basilisk" way, since he would be way more vicious on her than the elder gods if she directly helped stop his revival if he succeded, at least from her point of view

Isn't Kotal Kahn technically the one responsible for killing Mileena? Seeing as he ordered D'vorah to do it? I had no idea the writers did that to Scorpion, though. Can't say I'm surprised; from everything I've heard MK11 story mode sounds like a total shitshow.

Honestly MK11 killed off way too many characters, original Raiden, Johnny Cages wife (forgot her name cause I’m an idiot) and of course Scorpion, and adding back Shao Kahn was very lazy including all the other former characters instead of making new ones

so despite being a Mileena fan I like D'vorah. I thought the execution scene was iconic in its own right, and as long as it doesn't prevent Mileena from coming back (and it didn't) I'm ok. Actually I think D'vorah is one of the best new characters

For me it's just good to see a villain that pulls no punches and doesn't let the good guy always win and is willing to do whatever it takes literally whether that means killing off everyone's favorites or double crossing whenever she can her job is to keep the hive alive and that means to do whatever she has to to do that.

She was made just so no major characters killed mileena and scorpion for cause of backlash, and made her blood blue so you don’t have to censor out any fatalities

I LOVE her, and especially how she kills Grandmaster Hasashi. It causes this mix of "What a noble death using his final words to save his past self" and "Oh my god D'vorah!?" like I don't think he needed to be killed off by someone cool. And either way I'd argue she is someone cool, everyone like Kano and Errin Black for being evil and always switching sides for no reason, D'Vorah is the same way, she is just kind of Always evil, and the way she literally someone always comes out on top is amazing to me. She wasn't cast aside and ignored like Reptile or Baraka even once
