I see a crutial flaw here. Terrans without prowlers just dont perform overall so well. Even Nc has better infantry besides the friendly fire and infighting.

To all the people who are saying that infiltrator class is too OP, you're just not looking hard enough. To kill an infiltrator you must focus on your surroundings and ignore looking at the map for a moment. You can also hear them when they go in and out of invisibility which helps you find them. As long as you're paying attention and are actually good at the game like the player in this video.

"listen for the cloak sound" - the 20 infiltrators on my team or theirs? can you distinct between a mass of gunshots and 500 little cloak and uncloak sounds? when i hear the uncloak sound, i just start serpentine strafing, because you all play infiltrator because you're bad. i kill them pretty often with this technique ....

i started playing planetside 2 because arena fps games are dead and its the closest experience i can find in certain battles, just to be killed by a dude so bad like in the video hes looking at the floor just because he sat in a corner, killing my sprees AND my vibe. you should legally be sent a job application in your mail if you use the amaterasu as well

ive built my entire kit around countering infils and invisible flashes because my teammates never help with them, and its not even satisfying winning against infiltrators .... almost all of you play it to be purposefully annoying , and then wonder where all the engineer and medic mains went .... i wonder

I just think they need to add some more counters. Buff the darklight flashlight's range. Add in a darklight grenade; it would act like a sticky grenade and illuminates infiltrators in a large AOE for several seconds. Add an engineer turret that acts like a really awesome darklight spotlight, but unlike the Spitfire turret it doesn't track infiltrators automatically. It sweeps the area and tracks an infiltrator if it they walk into the angle it is aiming at. It could make a fun tactic to avoid the spotlight by getting into cover. Might as well make it work on uncloaked players too.

To be fair invisibility in planetside is done relatively ok. To be fair, every class has abilities that would normally be considered OP. The light assault can choose paths inaccessible to the rest of the classes, move extremely quickly in mountainous and hilly terrain and enter bases by jumping over walls Heavy assault has an additional shield which can eat an entire sniper rifle shot to the chest without taking any damage to the shield or health AND has ranged anti-vehicle capabilities A medic can render the nastiest or multi kills useless by reviving and healing everyone, can heal himself AND its assault rifle is most versatile weapon in game. Engineer is a tid bit underpowered but is crucial to vehicle combat.

It's not invisibility though. You can still see them, it's just that many times they have so many other things grabbing your attention that you don't always see them until the last minute or not at all. I've been running the stalker knife infiltrator and it is a blast. It takes good positioning to be effective too

I think planetside actually does it quite well. There are many ways to counter infiltrators, it just takes situational awareness and the issue is when you get distracted by everything else going on. Remember the infiltrator can take less damage than the other classes.

Tf2 spy is invisibility done well. In PS2 i dont mind it on short range infils with SMGs, I most certainly do with sniping infiltrators though as all means of detection only work at short range, and even if you see the infil when he is visible, unless you are one yourself you dont have the rangr to retaliate and if you manage to reach his position he will use invisibility to run away, making them supremely unsatisfying to face even if they arent really good shots.

For cqc i would recomend the VE-S Canis or the Sirius SX12. If you want more medium range power i would say the Artemis VX26 is also pretty good. Assuming you play VS. I would test all of them on VR training before committing, see whats best for your playstyle.

Fun class I think the overall way infil's worked in PS1 was far better but then it was far more hated as well compaired to PS2

@@cacovelho The ones on your team ARE worse than enemy ones! Cant even count the number of times I have been baited by one or sometimes even TWO of them sitting in a room and just watching me fight and die when they could have easily just decloaked and popped someone with their pistol if they wanted to. Even worse is when they dont even take advantage of my death when the enemy is low on health and reloading, still just sitting there, waiting. Would have literally been better if they were not there at all since then I would not expect any help and would have played accordingly instead of thinking I had backup.

As opposed to dying to extremely maneuverable ESFs, or heavy assaults that have what 450-700 more HP than any other class (+100 more against non nano cloak infils). I'd much rather fight infils than heavys imo

thats wild, just go back from your peek and let him drain his shield and waste his bullets ... they cant chase you in armor mode, theyre slow af. i literally kill heavies with even an emissary all the time 1 on 1, at least they cant literally go invisble .... i rarely have issues with heavies, but infils just ruin my fun. even when im winning against them they always just come back and try to be annoying over and over again. im convinced that people play infiltrator SPECIFICALLY to be annoying or as a crutch

It's not that infil takes no skill, its that one shoots at you, death is instant and you have no counterplay available. Even worse since the best counter to an infil that snipes people.. is another sniper infiltrator (unless he attracts the ire of a flyboy that carpet bombs the pest). Because with those even when you KNOW its here unless you switch to snipe back the only thing you can then do is hide like a damn coward and never show your face, or pray he misses/shoots somebody else. Not the most engaging kind of interaction. Short range infils arent as bad and usually once people know he is there and the flashlights come out the infil either flees or dies in short order. You can check a room for hidden infiltrators. not so much for a whole cliff face that's across the no man's land...

@@moffichu9150 i dont play infil, never been a sniper in games. I basically only pull ont to counter other infils on occasion when ours are sleeping. But no you dont notice the health difference because unless you play a short range infil, you wont get shot at anyway unless you mess up. Cloak is infinite health until they know where you are, and that often takes you killing them once first then not moving.
